//-------------------------------------------------------// Moonlight's Presence -by EquestrianFuture- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// A New Friend //-------------------------------------------------------// A New Friend A NEW FRIEND “WAKE UP, MOONLIGHT!” “Huh? What?” My eyes start to open as I start to see Shimmer in her usual mane style. “I need someone to compliment my mane,” She said-er-correction: She ALWAYS says. “It looks the same as yesterdays,” “Hmph. You’re just jealous you have to WORK in the castle unlike me!” Shimmer snorted. “I’m just working because YOU told me to!” I say as Skyla walked into the room, staring at us. I looked at her back. She had no wings, she was cursed the day the war started. “Oh sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt…” Skyla says shyly. “Well, Skyla, do YOU like my mane?” “Well…you wear it every single day and it’s getting a bit boring, but I still like it. I think…I think that maybe it could be a different colour so that it matches your eyes,” Skyla says. “Hmm… nope. I am NOT changing the stupid colour cause YOU said so. And why does EVERTHING NEED to match?” I stood up for Skyla. “Cause she’s a matchmaker, DUH!!” “Well, I don’t like ponies who make matches!” Shimmer yells. I can’t take it anymore. It’s too much. “SHIMMER! STOP! She’s your cousin! These past few years have been too hard. It’s time for a change!” As I ran out the door I hear continuous insults that Shimmer is shooting at Skyla. I run out the castle, tears in my eyes. The wind blew on my face harshly, so I grab a cloak and gallop off. I hear a voice, a voice that was so lovely, I follow it. It’s a mare. A mare who had a voice a sweet as honey and as beautiful as Celestia’s sunset. I follow the voice into the Canterlot Gardens, then, I see her face. It’s even lovelier than her voice, she has dark violet almond-shaped eyes and a very beautiful smile. I notice a horn peeking out of her wavy purple-striped hair. Birds followed her as she went flower to flower, smelling them as she- “Uh… what are you doing?” Whoops. “I…uh listened to your lovely voice and I… uh…” I stood there-awkwardly. Weird silence. “So…um…you’re a unicorn too, huh?” What? I looked at my back. My cloak covered my alicorn wings, so she thought I was a unicorn. Should I tell her the truth? Wait, No. She would go cray-cray and ask for my autograph. “Yeah…” I lied. “Cool, hey do you wanna go for coffee or something? I promised my friend I would meet her there and she loves meeting new ponies,” She offers. “Sure, I guess, I mean, I don’t have anything better to do…other than watching you smell flowers some more,” I say. She laughs. “You’re funny! Hey where are my manners? I’m asking you to go for coffee with me and yet-You don’t even know my name! I’m Melody.” “I’m Moonlight,”
