"Hi!" Pinkie squeaked, waking up the instant the rising sun became high enough to tickle the very bottom of her hoof with a warm tendril of light. The tranquillity was shattered.
Pinkie somehow propelled herself away from the bed in an instant, rolling up onto your chest and resting with her nose pressed against yours. She giggled and flexed her tail, pulling herself down into you and exciting your body further. Pinkie Pie was very, very good at that.

You lay back down on the bed and looked up at the ceiling. Something Twilight Sparkle had once said bubbled to the front of your mind. Pinkie Pie was unpredictable, inexplicable, incredible, and amazing. She oozed childlike glee and took a mixture of pride and enjoyment out of everything she did. She'd throw a party at the slightest provocation regardless of how thin the excuse was—the Thank Celestia It's Friday party which had taken place on a Wednesday came to mind—and she'd do anything to make somebody else smile. You'd call her selfless, but that would imply she didn't take just as much joy from it as she gave.
The noise of the shower drifted out from within the bathroom, and you heard Pinkie begin to hum a familiar tune that you couldn't quite place. Most of your thought processes stopped as a vision of Pinkie with water streaming down her body hammered its way into your mind, proving quite distracting.
Distracting and inspiring.
Without hesitation you rolled out of bed and sneaked over to the bathroom. The door was ajar and you could open it without alerting her to your presence. The mirror hadn't steamed up yet, and you could see her through it. There wasn't a force in Equestria that could keep Pinkie's mane flat permanently, so whenever you saw it it was a novelty.
Hoping that the torrent of steaming water was overpowering Pinkie's senses, you sneaked forward until you were immediately behind her. The water splashed against you—it was as hot as both of you liked it—and you were fairly sure Pinkie hadn't noticed you were there yet. Time for a surprise.

"Oh! Carrot and Cup are away on some baby training course today, so we have the shop alllllll to ourselves!" Pinkie exclaimed, grinning and raising her eyebrows. "Oh," she added a moment later as her spirits fell, "that probably means I have to watch the shop today. Oh gosh, and you have deliveries to make! You get the cakes, I'll get the pies! Or I get the pies, you get the cakes, or... something." Pinkie paused, deep in thought.
You'd grab the to-deliver boxes, and she'd open up?

A few minutes later you were out of the door. Your ears still had soap in them, your hair hadn't quite been washed properly, you were fairly sure you still smelled like Pinkie—a vague combination of sugar and fruits—and you had a small stack of boxes filled with delicious treats to deliver to the population of Ponyville.
Some of the boxes were specially ordered items, some of them were on a standing order, and more still were just gifts, but every one had to be delivered intact and on-time, and that was your job. Hands made it easier, you were less likely to drop things than Pinkie was.
First up was a cream cake for Rarity. This one was a gift—Pinkie thought Rarity should treat herself more, and was willing to enforce that.
"Another? Darling, I haven't finished the last one. Tell Pinkie I appreciate the offer, but-"
You interrupted Rarity, carefully placing the box on her back and patting her head. Pinkie was willing to enforce the gifts, it was better this way.
"I- I- I see. Then I accept, and send my gratitude," Rarity replied, before turning and walking back into her house. Honestly, the effort you had to go to to get that mare to accept a gift was absurd.
Next on the list? A box of chocolate brownies for Rainbow Dash. This one was a standing order.
"Awesome! I've been waiting for these, might have to increase my order," Dash said, thanking you as she took the box from your hand and raised a few feet into the air as if to protect them. "They're for a friend," she insisted, before darting away at high speed, directly towards her house.
Rainbow Dash had had that standing order in place for longer than you'd even known Pinkie Pie. "A friend"!
The next box down was for Twilight Sparkle, and contained a wide array of small treats—Pinkie's 'experimental' range—for Twilight to try out and report back on. You had a lot of boxes to get through.
Come late afternoon, you finally finished, handing the final box—apple pastries, to Applejack—and heading back home. You were exhausted, and you were looking forward to letting Pinkie be active enough for the both of you.
By the time you got back to Sugarcube Corner, the door was locked and the lights were off. Unusual, the shop shouldn't close until nightfall. You knocked on the door and waited.
"I'm busy!" Pinkie replied in a sing-song voice. "We'll be open tomorrow I promise!"
Tomorrow wasn't good enough, you lived here!
"Whoopsie!" Pinkie gasped, diving towards the door and poking the lock open with her nose. "You're early!" she accused. "I gave you loads and loads of gift boxes today, you shouldn't be back yet! Did you eat them yourself?"
Pinkie jumped at you, wrapping her hindlegs around your chest and prising your jaws open with her forehooves. She stuck her head inside your mouth and took a deep breath, trying to smell any sugars that hid within. A moment later, she popped out satisfied. "You're just too good at it! I'll give you more next time. C'mon, help me finish up here." she insisted, handing you one side of a banner.
You peered around to try and see what was written on the banner, but Pinkie lightly slapped you. "No peeking! It's a surprise party, sill- oh gosh did I just say that? It's nothing! Just help me put this up, okay?"
You shook your head in disbelief and helped with the sign. Whereas Pinkie would bounce up and down hammering the corner of the banner in a little further each time, your height meant you could just stick it in far more efficiently. It was difficult given that you knew you couldn't read it, even accidentally, but more than doable.
"Okay, all done. Now go outside, it's a surprise!"
You left, and Pinkie closed the door behind you. Immediately, you span around and knocked once more.
"Who's there?"
You told her.
"Me who?"
Your silence was not a great punchline.
"Okay okay, Mr. Grumpypants, come on in!"
Pinkie opened the door and granted you access. The shop had been transformed, with streamers and party hats everywhere. A banner at the far side of the room read Welcome to the super special ultra private just-for-you Pinkie party! in letters that decreased in size as they moved along, presumably as Pinkie began to realise she would run out of space.
No sooner was the door closed and locked than Pinkie kicked the record player into life and filled the room with music. "Cake?" she asked, proffering a slice of a particularly delicious looking chocolate cake at you. You accepted, and moved to take it, but she pulled back.
"Nuh-uh! Sit down and I'll bring it to you!" she protested.
You sat, finding a nice space against the wall, and Pinkie bounced over. After a moment's thought, she decided the best way of delivering the cake to you was simple. She took a large bite of it, and jumped over. Her crumb-covered lips were quickly pressed against yours, and your mouth offered no resistance. Pinkie climbed on top of your chest for a more comfortable angle as she slowly pushed the cake into your mouth, letting you slowly savour its taste and hers.
"Yummy!" She giggled, leaning back down for another bite. Soon the entire slice was gone, but neither of you felt like going to get another.
"I was sort of hoping we could do what we did this morning tonight, but we already did it this morning," Pinkie explained as she wrapped her hooves around your body and pulled herself a little closer. "So maybe we should do something different? Different is fun! You're probably tired after all that delivering, too so we can do something super ultra calm!"
Pinkie pulled tight and shifted her neck to rest her head over your shoulder. She was silent for a few seconds as if deep in thought. "I know I don't stay still much," she whispered, punctuating her sentence with a quick nuzzle to the side of your neck. "But that's just because I love bouncing around!"
Her tail twisted and bent as it pushed its way beneath you to surround your legs and squeeze them too. "But I love hugging you more."
Your arms quickly found their way around her body, and you joined her embrace. Every breath she took pushed against you, and yours pushed against her. Every beat of her heart sent a pulse through your form, and every time she moved in the tiniest way, you felt it.
The two of you lay there hugging against the wall for a few moments longer before Pinkie spoke up again. "I love you. I should tell you that more."
