Scootaloo's POV

I ran until I reached a small alleyway about 15 minutes from my home. I walked down the alleyway until I found a spot where I could stay until I figured out what to do next. I laid out my blanket and used my saddle bag as a pillow. I wrapped the blanket around me and shut my eyes, falling asleep.

Rainbow Dash’s POV

I flew towards Sugarcube Corner. I had decided to visit Pinkie Pie and maybe pull some pranks and ponies, since I really had nothing else to do. Soarin was spending a few days at the wonderbolts academy helping Spitfire with the new recruits. So basically I had nothing better to do, which is fine by me. It would be nice to visit Pinkie. Besides, I had some new prank ideas we could try. I snickered at the thought.

As I flew over an alleyway, I saw a ball of orange and purple curled up against the wall. I flew down to see who it was, even though I was pretty sure I knew who it was.

I walked towards the orange and purple ball and moved the blanket away from the pony’s face.

    “Scootaloo?!”

Scootaloo’s POV

    “Scootaloo?!”

I woke up with a start. I looked in front of me and saw a very concerned and confused Rainbow Dash.

“Heh, hi Rainbow Dash…” I said, unsure of what to tell her. I really wanted to tell her everything, but what if she sent me back. She wouldn’t do that. This is Rainbow Dash we are talking about! She’s my sister! She wouldn’t do that. Would she?

“Why in Equestria are you out here?” she asked, still confused and concerned.

“I.. Um... Well….” I didn’t know what to say. I was scared. My eyes began to water as I tried to figure out what to tell her.

Rainbow noticed and pulled my into a hug. I accepted the hug and a few tears fell. “Why don’t we go back to my place and you can tell me what’s going on.” I simply nodded. She placed me onto her back and made sure I was holding on before she flew off towards her house. The trip there was silent. Not an awkward silence, but a calming one.

Once we got to her house, she brought me inside and placed me on the couch.

“Now can you tell me what’s going on?” Rainbow asked, sitting beside me. I was afraid to tell her. I know I shouldn’t be, cause she is basically my big sister. But it’s just… oh I don’t even know. I’m just afraid of what’s going to happen once I tell somepony.

I sighed, tears coming to my eyes again. “Promise you won’t tell?”

Rainbow Dash’s POV

“Promise you won’t  tell?” Scootaloo asked me with tears in her eyes. Scootaloo doesn’t cry often, so I was concerned. As much as I wanted to say  ‘I promise’  to make her feel a bit better, I had to tell her the truth. If it was something terrible I would have to tell somepony so we could fix it.

“Depends on how bad it is, Squirt.” I told her. I saw a mixture of hesitance and sadness in her eyes. “Come on, Scoot, it’s just me. You can trust me.”

    She sighed. “Well…”

Scootaloo’s POV

    “Well…..”

I told her about my mom leaving, my dad blaming me and hurting me, nopony ever noticing, and finally I told her about how I felt like I needed to escape it and left. Once I finished, I looked up at her, her eyes a mixture of sadness and concern.

    “Scoots….”

Rainbow Dash’s POV

“Scoots……” I said, at a loss for words. I didn’t know what to say. I was sad, concerned, angry. I was angry at myself for never noticing that something was wrong. I was mad at her mom for leaving. I was mad at her dad for doing something like that to such a sweet filly. Sure, I wasn’t mad at Scootaloo for not telling me, but I was upset. I hid my anger from Scootaloo, not wanting to scare her.

    “Why didn’t you tell me?”

“I was scared! I didn’t know what to do! I was afraid that if I told anypony my dad would hurt me again…..” she said, tears streaming down her cheeks. I pulled her into a hug. She cried into my shoulder.

At this point I didn’t know what to do. I just sat there and comforted my little sister.

    “Shhhh Scoots, it’s okay.”

    I had to help her.

    I had to fix this.
