The Ultimate Warrior
Chapter 1: Awakening
??? POV:
Regret. That’s the only feeling I felt since that day. The blood, the crying, the children watching it all, tore away at me. Why was I born like this? I didn't want any of it. The doctor told me about how I was born. No wonder I don’t recall having a childhood. You seem confused, why don’t I tell you about myself from the beginning?
Celestia POV:
I drowned out the sound of my niece as she kept talking. I was SO BORED! The Royal Summit was thankfully reaching its conclusion as we had given our closing thoughts. I abhorred the annual meetings of royalty, they were dull and didn't have anything interesting about it. The political and economic discussion grated at her nerves.
“Anything you have to say auntie?” Cadence asked me, I forgot to pay attention again! Me damn it! “What was the question dear?” “I asked if you had anything to say before we concluded this meeting.” She replied. That’s when I realized, the Royal Bio-chemist had asked for all of us to meet.
“As a matter of fact Cadence, yes I do.” My sister lifted her head from the table, changing from boredom to listening carefully. “The Royal Bio-Chemist had asked for an audience with all of us. We should head there now.” “The Bio-Chemist? You mean the smartest pony in all of Equestria?” Twilight asked excitedly, her cheeks becoming rosy in embarrassment as she realized how loud she said it. “Yes my dearest student, we are going to meet Dr. Helix in the laboratory today. He said it was something important.” I wondered what was so important that he needed all of us to be there.
“If we are to meet the good doctor, then let us.” Luna replied, this time not in her Royal Canterlot voice. After three years of hard work and dedication, she was finally learning to talk normally, although she still needed to learn how to speak like a normal pony.
“Let’s not waste any more time everypony, let’s go.” And with that, we left the meeting room.
Dr. Helix POV:
“What do you think it is doc?” my assistant asked, he always asked questions the team and I couldn't answer. “I don’t know Gene, I don’t know.” Our team had discovered a capsule made of pure steel in the Crystal Mines under Canterlot, but due to the capsules construction, we could not see what was inside. “We’ll know soon enough, the princesses should be here any minute.” “Do you think there’s a pony in there?” Gene asked me. There was a huge possibility that there could be something dangerous in there, so I had contacted Princess Celestia in order to bring all of the other princesses as well. As we waited, there was a sudden rumbling coming from the capsule. “Gene, be careful! We don’t know what’s inside!” I yelled at Gene. Whatever it was, it’s alive.
There was a knocking on the door, it must be the princesses! “Gene, open the door so they can come in, I’ll get ready over here.” “Got it, doc.” He said. I put the tarp on top of the capsule, which caused it to stop rumbling. I straightened my hair and suit, as I waited for the princesses to come in.
“Hello Dr. Helix, what did you need to meet us for?” asked Princess Celestia, “I asked for all of you to come to my laboratory today to reveal something our excavating team found in the Crystal Mines. We don’t know what it is, but it’s certainly alive.” And with that introduction, I took the tarp off to reveal the capsule itself. The princesses had shocked expressions on their faces, but Celestia’s face was worse off. Her expression look as if she was staring at death itself, the fear of knowing your life was at stake was written all across her muzzle.
After a period of silence, Princess Celestia finally said something. “Put it back.”
“What do you mean ‘put it back’ princess?” I asked her, although questioning authority was always a bad idea. “I said, PUT. IT. BACK!” she yelled, terrifying the other princesses and Gene….. Maybe I peed myself a little. “That capsule holds something so foul, so evil, and so despicable, that Tirek wouldn't DARE open it.” Her strange calmness was disturbing, if not, outright scary to any mortal ears, unfortunately, I was at the receiving end.
“Bu-but princess don’t you want to know what’s inside?” I weakly asked her, even though I might face the wrath of a goddess, I was not willing to let go of this scientific marvel. “I know what’s inside doctor, it was the biggest mistake I had ever made. I don’t intend to make it happen again.” As she said that, the capsule shook violently, even making the ground around it rumble. “What’s happening princess?” Twilight asked fearfully, her small frame shaking with fear. Celestia aimed her horn at the capsule, and fired. The capsule exploded violently, a bunch of goo spraying all around us. “What is this!?” Gene yelled, his entire face covered in the mysterious goo. “I don’t know, Gene, but whatever it is, it must have metallic properties.” From this I knew that it had to be some type of liquid-based metal, the shine of the substance and the way it felt all had characteristics of it being a metal.
“Well, whatever it is doc, I’m not cleaning it u-“he cut off mid-sentence as he felt the goo moving. I also felt it, as if it were alive somehow. “oh, no…” Princess Celestia said, as the goo suddenly came off our skin and started to gather up in front of us.
I protectively placed myself in front of the princesses, as did Gene, as the goo started to take form. When it finished, It was the shape of a Pegasus, as still as a statue. What it did after though was not something that a statue could do, not something that a non-living thing could do.
It talked.
“Pathetic….. truly pathetic……. did you think your puny blast could kill me?”
