"No need to thank us, Pinkie. We are all happy to help you. Right girls?", Twilight replied. They were all at Sugarcube Corner. Well, not really. It was the little part at the top, where Pinkie lives. Lying on the floor, it had to be, thousands of greeting cards for Hearts-and-Hooves Day. "No, there IS a need. If I hadn't eaten all that bad candy, I wouldn't have gotten sick and those cards would have been finished yesterday, and not just one day before the great event." "I don't get that event. Let me get this straight. You make one card for everyone in ponyville, hide them and then tomorrow everyone will search for it?", RD asked. "No silly. Not just me. Everyone in Ponyville makes cards and hides them." Applejack (just imagine the southern accent) entered this conversation. "It sure sounds great, but I do think you're ripping off another holiday." "But you have to admit that it sounds like fun.", came from Fluttershy. "Oh, yes. Huh, does that mean you're going to participate?", replied Rarity. "Oh no. I can't. All the boys in town ran after me all week to invite me. I'm just glad none of them saw me getting here" "You should consider yourself lucky. Only one of them approached me and all he could do was mumble an incomprehensible invitation and a "Sorry, it's nothing." So, you're just going to hide all day. First time I heard someone would do that, but what are you others going to do?", the white unicorn comlained. "Me an' Pinkie here are going to inspect the search, to make sure as sugar that all is clear. And you Twilight?" "I'll be heading to the Crystal Empire for a get-together with a certain orange pegasus.", came out of her mouth with a blush and a magical hairtwirling. "Well, I am going to look after my sister.", explained Raity "Hey, Applebloom told me, Sweetie Belle's goin' to have a date with a boy." "Have you seen him? I tell you this "Button Mash" means trouble." "Oh dear Celestia. I can't take this talk about love and dates anymore. It's like everyone is a whole new person at this time of year.", it finally popped out of the cerulean colored pegasus. "Hey, don't talk like that. First, we barely even mentioned it. Second, what will you do tomorrow"? "First, it's not just your talking. Everyone talks like that. Second, same as every year. Training at the training area. In fact, I'm gonna go let some steam off." "Wow, what's gotten into her?" was the question that stood unspoken in the room. After a few seconds Rarity broke the silence. "Don't worry girls. She just needs to find the right one. Then she will know what it means." //-------------------------------------------------------// A new acquaintance //-------------------------------------------------------// A new acquaintance Annoyed by her friends, Rainbow Dash flew towards the training area. You could tell that something was wrong, because she wasn't nearly as fast as she could have been. But also because of her constant nagging. "Why did they have to bring this stuff up anyway. Stupid love. What's it even good for, except bringing ponies out of focus. Maybe if Ifelt it, I could under... different thoughts", she said to herself while flieing and shaking her head. Suddenly, completly out of nowhere, a giant bang and a dark sphere spread from Rainbows destination, which sent her turbulating in the air, untill she crashed to the ground. After coming to her senses again she heard something very strange. Giggling. A little child giggling and repeating the words : "Do it again. Do it again." And another pony saying: "No. That's enough for today." Curious about what could have possibly caused such an explosion, th blue-coated pegasus trotted over to the racetrack. What she found was a lavender coated filly-unicorn and a silver, grown-up pegasus. As she didn't know what to say, RD just yelled: "Hey, what was that for?" The stallion yelled back, with a giggle in his voice: "Sohohohorry. Didn't know you where there. Anything alright?" "Yeah, just chipped my wing." As she approached further and further towards the two of them she started to recognize at least the little filly. A horn, lavender coat and a yellow mane. It was Dinkie Hooves. Rainbow sometimes saw her when she picked up Scootaloo to train her. But all she knew was that she is Derpys daughter. The stallion, silver, pair of wings, neon-green, spikey hair and tail, which look like they were razor sharp and a very dark purple circle with a silver lightning as cutiemark. "Who are you anyways?" A smile appeard on his face as if he loved this question more than anything. And Rainbow instantly found out why. "My name, young lady," he said with an over-the-top voice, "my name is not yet determined. Some call me the wind that blows through the trees. Some call me the explosion that created everything. But my friends call me "Quick Draw"." The pony with the rainbow-mane couldn't believe it. One minute she gets annoyed by her friends and the next minute she gets annoyed by a complete stranger and Dinkie, who couldn't stop laughing through his entire speech. Not wanting to be rude, Rainbow Dash continued the conversation. "So, the explosion that created everything, I guess that means you're the one who sent my face to a high-five with the ground. I'm Rainbow Dash." "He knows. I told him while you trotted here." "Uhm, thanks, I guess. Where are you from. Can't say that I ever saw you in this reagion." "I came from Fillydelphia to look after my niece while my sister has her HaHD-rendez-vous." Rainbow could not believe what she heard there. Derpy Hooves, the grey, cross-eyed, clumsy pegasus who managed to ruin town hall, had a DATE on Hearts-and-Hooves Day. Wait a minute, this guy is Derpys brother? While, she still thought about that, she couldn't help but to feel a smile creeping on her face when she saw Quicksilver play with Dinkie so joyfull. Like a child. It kinda reminded her of Pinkie Pie. But there was still one qustion unanswered. HOW DID HE CREATE THAT GIANT EXPLOSION OF DARKNESS? //-------------------------------------------------------// The "Big Bang" //-------------------------------------------------------// The "Big Bang" "How DID you create that explosion?", Rainbow said in total awe, just realizing what that pony just did. Apparently surprised by that question, Quick Draw started to explain. "You really haven't heard of the "Big Bang". Okay, here's the deal. First, a demonstration?" She nodded and the stalion got in save distance and gave signs for them to prepare for it and to cover their ears. Dinkie could not hold still. This has to be the one she wanted him to repeat. All the focus being on him, he got into position, built tension up in his legs and you could have just blinked and you would not have seen him start off. But that was not the only thing that happened. In a matter of seconds, something dark started summoning in the place where he was and suddenly exploded. This time Rainbow noticed something that she didn't before. There was no real sound, but her ears were feeling so much tension that there might as well have been. (Literally) blown away by that show, both the viewers found themselves a couple of meters behind from where they first sat. "Again, sorry for that. I can normally control it better, but I've done it to many times today.", Quick Draw explaned. "By leaving one place fast enough, I create a vaccum. When it starts to refill itself, the impact of the air and other stuffs creates an explosion of dark matter. Or something like that. I don't get it either." "Very impressive, but not cooler than my "Sonic Rainboom"." "That was you? Oh sweet Luna. I was there at the flyers-competition- thingie. I can't believe I didn't recognize you. Care for a race?" "You better don't. Nopony beats my oncle", Dinkie jumped in, after taking longer to come to her senses than the grown ups. Fluttered by the compliment and goaded by the thought of once having a worthy opponent, RD accepted the challenge. "Oh yeah. I'm gonna prove you wrong." "Okay, the rules. To the library and back and no booms and bangs." "Got it." The filly gave the countdown, three, two, one, GO. And both of them started as fast as they could without bringing their specialities in action. First, Rainbow seemed to win, but when they reached the library, she slowed down and so Quick Draw got the top spot. And he expanded the gap between them untill they reached the goal. Dinkie and Quick Draw shouting out in victory as Rainbow got a problem. The wing she bruised earlier, it collapsed. She couldn't slow down and crashed into a tree sending her into the land of dreams. Even today, she can't even remember what she remembered before that crash. The only thing she really remembered was the waking up in the hospital in the evening. And the joy and the warmth in her heart as she heard the words "Are you all right?" coming from her opponent. „Yeah. What happend?“ she asked, still fuzzy n the head. „You crashed into a tree and you were unconsious.“ „Oh. Did you bring me here?“ „Yes, that was quite a shock.“, he said with a voice with so much passion in it, that it made Rainbows head even more fuzzier. It was then when Nurse Redheart entered and told them that Rainbow could leave. Quick Draw followed her to her house to make sure that she got there. And so they talked about that race. „What happened there?“, the stallion asked. „Just my wing. It collapsed, because of my fall earlier.“ „Again, I’m sorry for that but I meant something different. I won.“ „Yeah, so. You were faster and my wing was hurt.“ „Come on. You would have beaten me if both of them were broken. What was it?“ „Well, I saw how Dinky looked at you. I couldn’t destroy her image of you. You are her superhero.“ Then, Quick Draw sighted followed by a small giggling. „You should have done it. She should know that I’m not invincible. I’m afraid I’ll one day disappoint her in something bigger than a little race.“ „Wow, didn’t see that side of you before.“ „What do you now mean?“ „I mean that before you were that all cheerfull oncle that couldn’t be taken seriously and now you talk such big words all serious and stuff." "Honestly? Few have." "So that's my house. We're here.", she pointed out, as they reached her home. It's a strange one. If one didn't know it was a house, he or she would have just assumed it was a cloud, which it practicly is. „So now our paths part.“,  he said, being the best way to say "bye" he could think of. „Wait, uhm, you said you were new here. And after what happened today I can’t run around unguarded. And my friends all have something to do tomorrow. How about you look after me tomorrow and I’ll show you the town?“ „Sounds great to me. As it turns out Dinky is going to spend the day with friends so I have time.“ „Good so tomorrow, here, 10 A.M.? „Sure. Sleep well.“ „You too.“ And like that Rainbow entered her home with the tought in her head: „So that’s what it feels like.“
