"Seriously,where the fuck could I get get a job?" Nicolas mumbled whilst kicking a tin can across the sidewalk in Paris. The city had a large line of smog in the sky. It was impossible to see that far. In the distance the Eiffel Tower gave off a faint glow. Today was May 05. Founding day. Or at least it was for North Europe. The successor to the European Union. As Nicolas walked he could not help but cough as the smog filled his lungs. He sat on the bench outside his apartment,that he could barely keep of with the rent. The unemployment check in the mail didn't help either. He looked off into the distance. No one was celebrating today. No one really did after 2070. He got off the bench and proceded to the front of his apartmant. He put the key in the rusty old lock and opened the door. He walked up the stairs to the 8th floor,were his apartmant was. He kneeled down to pet old Rusty in front of him. Rusty was one of the neighbors dogs. The only pet on the entire block. No one could really afford pets anymore. "Hey boy how you doing?" The poor dog gave out a whine. Just after the dogs whine one of the apartment doors opened.
A middle aged man looked at Nicolas. His dirty black hair and beard rustled in the calm air,he wore a turban and white robes. One of the third Generation Muslim citizens in France. "Nicolas my old friend! How are things going?" Nicolas looked at his neighbor. "Just fine,Abdul." He sighed. "My Friend,I know money is hard to come by,so would you like to work down at the Bazaar with me? Allah knows I could use a hand selling my vegetables. Also the lamb won't cut itself!

Nicolas smiled. He desperately needed a job,and 500 Euros and Hour was worth it. 500 could feed himself for a week and buy some other things he needed. "Thanks Abdul I'll see you Tomorrow." Nicolas walked away as Abdul shooed rusty backed to his owners apartmant. "Why do Muslims hate dogs so much?" Nicolas thought. Oh right some BS in their Religion. Nicolas was'nt really religious but he respected the Muslim community even though they had strange beliefs. After all they were the majority of the population. Alas a native Frenchman was a rare sight. You would only see them Far-North like in Normandy or Brittany.
Nicolas sat on his couch and turned the TV on. The small 45 inch plasma screen TV from the Early 21st century buzzed. He hit it with his hand to make sure the connection was good. After all,who used digital anymore? Right everyone. Only the rich could get their hands on a Holo-Vision. He opened the cabinet and took out some stale french bread and spread some goat cheese on it. It tasted OK at least. At least he had lunch today. He listened to the Television talk. The news lady continued to speak of the news. "Today it has been announced by the European Northern Economic Commission that France has the lowest Economy in the Union." The news woman adjusted her earpeice. Trying to see if what she heard was real. Are you sure? She whispered. A bit of sweat rolled down her neck as she ruffled her papers. Most of the audience around Europe wondered what the strange silence was for. Little did they know this was history in the making. "We have unconfirmed reports from the pacific ocean that a large landmass,about the size of 2 British Isles has appeared in the pacific ocean. Scientists know very little at the moment.
The TV moved to a picture. "This is a picture taken by a Japanese fishing Crew on the outskirts of what was once the Marianas trench. As you can see there is land,but it is shielded by a pink aurora of some sorts. A crew member attempted to enter the bubble but he was vaporized at that second. We warn you the image you are about to see is graphic but true. Shown below was a pile of ashes. What sat in it was just a dark skull. Over to the side an eyeball was smashed onto the barrier. Slowly sliding down the barrier. Nicolas almost gagged up his lunch at the sight of this. "What we are seeing is something that we will never forget and may change the entire coarse of human history as we know it. Also New Zealand and Australia has scrambled their jet fighters and are attempting to enter the border." Nicolas had his eyes glued onto the TV,wanting to know what the hell was going on. As the Jets approached they were stopped by some sort of creature. Soarin and the other Wonderbolts yelled "Stop!" at the top of their lungs. But it was too late. The pride of Two nations air forces crashed into the bubble. Some jeering off into the deep blue sea. An aircraft carrier sent by the United States stopped by the coast of the bubble. The Wonderbolts landed on the flight deck. An Admiral walked up to the ponies and said, "We have alot of talking to do."
After the Admiral finished talking to the Wonderbolts it has become obvious what has happened. A new civilization appeared out of nowhere and its bubble is expanding rapidly. The only way out,to become one of them. Nicolas couldn't believe what he was hearing. He honestly thought he was drinking or that someone slipped a drug in his wine. Alas no. This was all way to real. All of Humanity,will be gone 6 years tops. All of humanity wiped from earth,buildings,relics nothing could stop Equestria's onslaught. Nicolas began to cry realizing all he had worked for throughout the 22 years of his life will be gone forever. Ever since his Family moved to France when he was only 8 all he thought about was history. From Knights and Kings to Tanks and Warplanes all of Human history he loved and held dear would be forgotten. He thought he had lost hope,but soon he will realize there will be only two ways to preserve human history.
2 Weeks Later
Nicolas paced back and forth in his apartment. Who would he join? Would he join the newly formed blood thirsty HLF? Or would he join IHSA? The Human Survival Alliance was allot more peaceful,they sought to seek ways to preserve buildings,relics and documents from the expanding magic barrier by finding ways to preserve them. So far they could only preserve paper documents. Buildings like the Eiffel Tower,The Empire State building would no longer exist. The HLF on the other hand wanted to kill,burn,pillage and genocide all ponies from the face of the earth. He did'nt want to kill any of the ponies,he actually liked them in away. Getting rid of poverty,hunger,greed and other things. He decided that it would be best to help the IHSA's efforts to preserve. As he sat on his bed and pondered he could not help but hear gunshots across the hall. He quickly ran across the hall and saw Abdul laying on the ground,covered in blood and holding in his hand a ticket to Paris's new conversion Bureau. He looked on his chest and saw a carving in Arabic it read,
