Finding My Inner Strength

The sound of beating wings above my head woke me from my sleep. I looked up. A stallion with blue-green hair, an eye-patch, and large Pegasus wings was trying desperately to keep hovering above me.

"Hi. Nice to meet you. I'm Magic Solstice."

I smoothed out my mane in habit.

"I'm, uh, Corrina."

I wondered what kind of impression I made, with my pink mane and purple coat, and bright green hair-bow. He smiled at me friendly-like. Then I recognized that smile. It was that smile my sister gave her boyfriend. Oh no. Not the I-have-a-crush-on-you-let's-become-a-couple-smile.

I stepped out of my tree and looked him in the...eye.

"Listen, I know you like me, but..."

Suddenly he landed. His hair came up for a splitsecond and I saw his horn. I gasped.

"You-you're a hybird! How-"
