Scarred Insanity

You slowly awake in a daze. Confused, alone, and scared, you look around your surroundings to get an idea of where you are. White dead trees all around. The skies above you were black as blood, cold wind slowly breezing through the air making you shiver. Could this be the Everfree forest? It doesn't look like it. You slowly start to stand up on your hooves and your head starts painfully pounding. "Where am I?" you think to yourself.

"Hello?" No response.

Since there's no point to staying where you are, you start to walk in the only direction you can think of...Forward.

The journey was a little depressing. Dead, crushed leaves and twigs everywhere making rustling noises with every step you take. No flowers, or butterflies, or even little critters. Just, nothing. *Squish* Your thoughts halt for a second. "What was that?" You ask yourself in a frightened tone. You slowly look down to find the corpse of a dead rabbit, still soaked with blood. Eyes gouged out from their sockets, tongue ripped clean from the mouth. Torso ripped open and guts draped on the ground. "UUUUGCH!" You scream. The smell is unbearable. You can feel your stomach flipping over and over.

You look away and run away from the horrible scene. "What Happened?" Who knows. A wolf? Bear? Cougar? Or something else?

You begin to walk forward again. A couple miles later, you hear hoof steps. A quick look behind you finds...nothing. Except for a crown. You walk over to the crown. You've seen a crown like this before, but you can't remember who's crown it is. The headaches are making it difficult to remember. "Hello? Is somepony there?" No response. You start to get a little scared now. Who, or what, was making those sounds? You put the crown back down onto the ground and continue on.

A while longer, you reach...

"W-wha...no...th-this can't be"

...What's left of Ponyville...your home...

Every house in Ponyville is left in a rotting ruin. A dark black fog chokes the town. Dead bodies litter the walkways. Innards scattered around and blood splattered on the walls. There were also writings on the wall, painted with blood. It's was difficult to see with the blinding black fog. You continue to walk forward until you can finally see the various writings.

"She betrayed us"

"She lied to us"

"She killed us"

"Help us"

What happened here? Who is "she"? Why did this happen? You then decided to return to the one place you'd probably first go...

...home...

Along the way, the scenes are gruesome. Dead ponies everywhere. And it appears they had different deaths. Snapped necks, missing heads, heads alone, some with eyes gouged out, some with snapped unicorn horns, slipped throats, even a pony sliced in half. There was even a house where upon looking inside, you found a pony who committed suicide by hanging.

You finally reach your, once called, home. As you walk up to the front door, you get a sudden chill down your spine. What could be behind this door?

Ponies alive and well?

Dead ponies?

Nothing at all?

You slowly push the door open and look inside. You gasp in horror as you look upon the grim scene before you.

Dead bodies scattered around the floor. But not just any bodies. Your mother, father, siblings, and pets. All dead. You collapse and start to bawl. You never thought this would ever happen to you. But it has. Your family, friends, and all that you ever loved....are dead. You notice some newspapers on the coffee table. You walk over to the coffee table and read the papers.

March 21st

PRINCESSES MISSING

Princess Celestia and Princess Luna have been reported missing by authorities yesterday morning, just after Winter Wrap-up. Although this is not the first time it has happened, it is still a serious issue. Residents have also reported a black sky with no sun, moon, or clouds. Princess Twilight stated that she has (for now) taken control of the castle with the assistance of Princess Cadence until the Princesses have been found. She has also stated that she will assist in the search.

March 26th

ELEMENTS OF HARMONY DESTROYED

While already busy searching for Princess Celestia and Princess Luna who were reported missing last week; Princess Twilight stated that the Elements of Harmony have been destroyed. She said it is unclear how this happened, but she is glad that (somehow) she still has her friends. While this will be investigated, authorities will also continue the search for the missing princesses. Princess Twilight reassured residents to not panic and she will have the problem fixed. Meanwhile, the dark skies are making the search difficult. The weather ponies, as well as the Wonderbolts have volunteered to investigate

March 31st

PRINCESSES FOUND DEAD

A dark time for Equestria today as the 10 day search for the Princesses has come to a sad end. Princess Celestia and Princess Luna have been found and confirmed dead. At 2:00 am this morning, authorities found the bodies of the two princesses nearby the old castle. The cause of death is unknown at this time. Princess Twilight was devastated by the ordeal and did not want to comment at this time. Princess Cadence, choked up with tears, said "I am deeply saddened by this tragedy that has befallen Equestria. I will continue to assist Princess Twilight in Canterlot during this time of crisis". Princess Twilight's friends have also stated that they will assist as well. An autopsy is to be performed on the princesses later this week to identify the cause of death. Residents also continue to question the dark, colorless sky. This could be due to the death of the Princesses. The weather ponies and Wonderbolts, are still currently investigating the reason behind the black sky.

April 10th

PRINCESS TWILIGHT MISSING

10 Days after the confirmation of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna's death, reports that Princess Twilight is missing has the city in a panic. After funeral services were held for the Princesses yesterday, Princess Twilight's assistant, Spike reported that the Princess didn't return to the castle. Although some say she may have went on an unannounced trip to clear her mind, Spike stated that she started to develop mental issues after the Princess's deaths. Applejack, Princess Twilight's friend, said "While she is the sweetest pony I ever met, she has been slightly "off" ever since the princesses died". Authorities, as well as the Royal Guard, have begun searching for the Princess in an attempt to bring her back safely. Meanwhile, autopsy reports of the cause of the Princesses deaths came out today as well. The report says that their brains were missing, only the brain stem remained. All of the other various organs were untouched. It also states that both Celesta and Luna had serious metal issues before their deaths. It also states that the date of death was March 21st at midnight while everypony was asleep. It was also the same day the search began. Residents also reported occasional black blinks in the Princesses eyes, as well as an occasional black aura on their horns before their deaths. Some say that it was a metal overload with their magic, while others say that it could be some kind of entity. Scientists are still investigating.

April 13th

MULTIPLE PONIES MYSTERIOUSLY MURDERED

In a timespan of just 3 days, authorities have Identified and confirmed the deaths of seven ponies, most of them in Ponyville. Two of them were Princess Cadence and her husband, Prince Shining Armor; Princess Twilight's older brother. Five more were reported to be the Elements of Harmony. Her assistant, Spike, was also murdered. Their deaths were various, including one's head sliced in half. Mayor Mare has requested everypony to stay on high alert. She required everyone to close their windows, lock their doors, and be very alert about their surroundings. Authorities have raised security levels and are searching for the suspect. Very few have suspected Princess Twilight to be the killer since she is the only pony to get close enough to her brother, besides Princess Cadence, and because she currently has mental issues, but most objected this thought. The search for the Princess still continues however. This time to be taken in for questioning.

May 3rd

PONYVILLE SHUTS DOWN

After weeks of unsuccsessful searching for the killer, and many more murders, Mayor Mare has decided to abandon and shut down Ponyville, for good. Mayor Mare demanded everyone to move out of Ponyville immediately for the safety of the remaining citizens. She also demanded a permanent shield spell to seal off Ponyville. Since April 13th, Ponyville lost 3/4 of it's population following a string of gruesome murders. Including Princess Cadence and her husband Prince Shining Armor. The killer, -------- -------- who also ----- --- --- ------- until the deaths of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. Autopsy reports on the Princesses say that their brains exploded after an unknown entity currently nicknamed, "The Smoke" hijacked their minds and drove them to insanity causing their brains to explode. Many suggest that -------- -------- may have contracted part of this entity after the Princesses died, since she was a ------ ------- -- -------- -------- . Many say --- -------- -- ------- could have prevented all of this from happening, however --- -------- -- ------- ---- destroyed, possibly by -------- -------. As of today, no one is allowed to step hoof into Ponyville. Since she is -- -------, she is ruled as immortal and cannot be killed, even though "The Smoke" killed Princess Celestia and Princess Luna.

Murders? Did Princess Twilight do this? The newspaper confirms the killer, but the name is smudged. If she did, why would she turn on her friends, even her brother?

"You.....shouldn't have.....returned"

You hear a whisper behind your ear. You quickly look behind you to see...nothing. Nothing but the front door you came from. At least at first. A slight mist starts to roll in as a silhouette of what appears to be Princess Celestia starts to form right before your eyes. "Princess? I-Is that you?" you ask the ghostly figure.

She.....did this.....to me.....to all.....of us.....

"Who did this?" you reply.

I.....helped her.....become great.....she.....betrayed me.....

"Who?" you reply again.

No time.....you must.....leave.....now

"But who did all of this?" you ask.

I said.....no time.....the shield.....is open.....leave.....now

"But-"

Before you could ask again, the figure vanishes. Then you hear something slowly walking up the dark hall in front of you. "Well, hello little one..." That voice, sounded soo familiar...was it?

Then, a slight light revels the figures face. It was Princess Twilight. You start to back up slightly, you still don't know if she's the killer or not. "Why so scared?" She asks. "Are...a-are you....t-the-"

Just then, her eyes shot open. You gasp in horror at the sight that beholds you. Her eyes were pure phantom black with no pupils. At all. Then, it hits you. Princess Twilight was the killer. She killed her friends, your friends, and your family. You quickly turn around and dart out of your former home and back into the forest. Running as fast as you can to get away from the hell you just endured. Your heart beats faster, your adrenaline flows through your body, your emotions cloud your brain.

After a couple miles, you look behind you to find trees. Trees all around you. Black fog still making seeing where you are going a challenge. Then...

*Trip*

You trip on a tree root. As you lay on the ground, a gut wrenching pain hits you like a brick wall. You lift your front right hoof up, only to see that it has broken. You can't help but break down into tears. The pain and emotions are just too much to handle.

"Don't worry child"

You look up to find Princess Twilight standing in front of you.

"You are safe now"

Then, her black eyes open, and a ghostly black aura surrounds her horn.

You let out one final scream and then.............
