The sun was shining brightly over all of Equestria, the sky was a perfect shade of cerulean, the clouds were fluffy and a bright white shade, and Equestria was in general having a very nice day. However, in the royal chambers of the newest princess, things were a bit... darker...
The navy blue curtains had been drawn, forbidding the bright sunlight to stream through the windows. None of the candles were lit, as well, throwing the bedroom and sitting room into complete darkness. As for the princess herself, she was tangled up in a heap of blankets, sleeping peacefully.
Emphasis on was sleeping.
A silver alarm clock, which had been ticking away quietly seconds before, started to beep shrilly, startling the poor princess awake. She let out a shriek, and quickly went to turn off the alarm. However, in her haste, she tumbled off the bed, making a loud thump. She groaned, and untangled herself from the sheets and blankets to turn off the alarm. She hit the button, and sighed as the shrieking noise stopped. The clock continued on from 10:04, ticking quietly once more.
Yawning, she turned to the large window near her bed, and drew back the curtains, shedding light on her gray coat and silver mane. She winced, as the bright light was painful to her eyes, which had grown accustomed to the darkness. She frowned in disapproval as she saw the citizens of Canterlot out and about, most looking happy and awake.
"I hate Mondays..." grumbled Lily Note.
