"Are you freakin' kidding me? Of course, the answer is 'yes'!"
Twilight Sparkle simply sat there with her mouth open. She felt her heart slow down as a dark, cruddy cloud seemed to rise up inside of her. She had not expected that answer at all.
That human girl on the bed in front of Twilight-- that same bed that Twilight had delicately and tenderly made for her after she had appeared atop the Hoffington-Ponyville train car, body covered in bruises and totally unconscious-- made a flat, empty expression. Her huge blue eyes, littered with delicate strings of purple, darted around evasively. She took a little breath.
Midnight? Don't you know how I feel about you? Don't you know what you've put me through? How you've actually, even, changed me? Twilight's eyes ran along Midnight's wonderful hair-- those long, dark blue locks with that pretty violet stripe going through it that sparkling a little in the moonlight-- down along the human's slim, slender body to her dark purple gloves over her hands and dark purple sandals upon her feet. It seemed like gazing into one of those magically enchanted mirrors Luna kept around the quieter parts of Canterlot Castle, in which the reflection showed the viewer his or her ideal self.
"I've had more than enough in this pastel-colored, computer-free, cheeseburger-less, friends-and-family-less, sugary-sweet-with-nasty-looks-behind-your-back place... this..." Midnight stood up off of the bed, stepping over besides the towering bookshelves. She idly wiped her hand across a shelf with ancient books on pony magic as she bopped her head. "This hell. This hell, that tastes like friggin' diabetes at the same time as it goes down ya like friggin' turbo-lax."
Twilight opened her mouth and stopped, unable to think of anything to say. I can't... I can't understand... how in the hay can you say these things? After everypony that you've met? After everypony that you've seen? After everywhere you've been! She felt her lips wiggling, her eyes holding back tears.
"All this vegan shit ponies shovel before me, these yard-clippings that even rabbits couldn't stand-- and I have to gulp it all down night after night." Midnight twirled around, leaning up against the wall. She clutched her flat stomach, her long hair going over her big eyes. "George W. freaking Bush fed the Gitmo guys better. At least they got real beef cheeseburgers."
"Okay," Twilight responded, barely able to even speak. "Okay. It's okay. It's all okay." She sniffed a little bit, trying hard to hide her feelings. What in the hay was I thinking, anyways? It's weird enough. She's me only human, for crying out loud! She's me. I'm her. How could I have expected it to work? It's bad enough falling in love with a human, so many of my friends can tell me about it, but... this!
"So, you can tell Princess Celestia, the big miss with the big ass and the big mouth," Midnight went on, leaning back onto the bed and curling her legs over the side, "that I'm delighted. You guys told me it might be, what, even months until you got a portal ready back to earth?"
"It's a weird process," Twilight flatly replied, walking over to the window and looking upon the huge moon. "It doesn't make rhyme or reason, sadly. We've seen humans appear every which place in every which way, popping up like daises almost. Something to do with parallel universe alignment, or so the Royal Canterlot Astrophysical Society says, and it's just so much harder to get to your planet from here compared to otherwise."
"I get it. I get it." Midnight waved a hand in the air dismissively. "But I think that makes sense. Our universe's world-lines could have some inherent nature that makes matter more likely to say in place here. It's the same thing that makes human resistant to magic. You said before that maybe it's to do with the atomic space. Something about our electrons being farther away from our nuclei with subtly different spins, right? Did Celestia ever test that hypothesis?"
Twilight smiled. She had loved those long, intellectual conversations with Midnight. That poor girl had been working on her master's degree back in U.C.-Davis, apparently a real "life's total goal" for her, before she showed up in Equestria. She's so much like me that it's scary. Twilight paused, magically lifting over a cool glass of water from besides the bed. Well, so she's like me. How would I feel if I was shot into another world? Wouldn't I be clamoring to get home ASAP as well, even though I adored my new friends? Twilight shuddered at the thought.
"But whatever. Whatever to everything," Midnight said, leaning back in the bed and closing her eyes.
Twilight stepped over, gazing upon that woman's beautiful face. She had such a dorky yet adorable set of black rims on her cute nose, complementing her flush, often blushing cheeks so well. Twilight lifted over another glass over in the air atop Midnight's chest. She reached up and grabbed it, not even opening her eyes.
She knows me so well, too. Twilight let out a tiny sigh. At least I'll have tonight. The sudden thought suprised her, and she stepped backwards with her expression fading. How can I think like that? I thought we really had something. What the hay is wrong with me if I'm going "I'll have tonight"? That's acting like I'm... I'm... like I only used her to scratch an itch. Like she never meant anything more.
"So, we go to Canterlot early tomorrow morning, right?" Midnight asked, leaning back and sticking her head into the pile of frizzy pillows. "I guess we're taking the train."
"You're taking the train."
"Twilight?" Midnight shifted her body over, a hand going over Twilight's hoof. The unicorn let out a deep breath, taking her hoof away. "You're not coming with?"
I hadn't thought you'd actually go, you know! I thought the possibility was astronomical! Of course, I didn't plan on going, since you weren't going either! Twilight wanted to scream at Midnight. She simply shook her head 'yes'.
Midnight sat up on the bed. Her beautiful eyes just seemed to caress along Twilight's cheeks. "Oh... oh... Twilight..."
Twilight simply sat there on the floor in her bedroom, hardly able to really think or feel anything. She blinked. Midnight blinked as well, and she leaned over closer.
"I know, sweetheart," Midnight said. Twilight tried not to make a 'squee' at that last word; she just adored that pet title that Midnight had for her. The way Midnight said it felt like a bunch of kisses, almost. "I know it's sudden. I know that other humans aren't like that, most of them stay for quite a while. But this past week has been, let's be honest, totally awful."
"Midnight..."
"Don't tell me you didn't think that as well." Midnight held her hoof once again. "Don't lie to yourself, not just to me."
Twilight took a gulp. Midnight, a shy introvert with a huge opinionated streak coupled with an impulsive streak, had to be the most socially thick girl Twilight had met since Gilda. She couldn't suffer fools very well, and so Midnight's best friends had been the books in Twilight's library rather than anypony. Even Pinkie's party fell totally flat. Well, 'failed miserably' would be more honest. She flashed back to how Midnight had kept suggesting that the Pinkie mare take some anti-psychotic medication in between making fun of Rarity's "upper class twit of the year accent".
"It's about our... our thing, isn't it?"
"Of course, it's about 'our thing'!" Twilight sputtered. A chill went across Midnight's face as she sat backwards. Twilight found herself hopping up onto the opposite side of the bed. Her eyes narrowed as she stopped trying to hold her emotions back. "What else!"
"Twilight, I..."
"You don't-- don't--" Twilight kicked a pillow off the bed, throwing it across the air onto an end table. "You don't just have sex with a mare without-- without-- stuff happening."
"Without what happening?"
Twilight trembled. She couldn't believe it. Midnight had just asked her that without a shred of sarcasm, making a totally genuine question. She really didn't know. She really didn't understand. Oh, buck it, Midnight! I can't understand you!
"I love you, Midnight." Sheer conviction flashed over her face.
"I love you too, Twilight." Midnight swung her legs around over Twilight's body, leaning back once again against the pile of pillows.
Twilight laid down on the bed, making a low, soft whine that Midnight couldn't hear. She says "love you" without a shred of meaning. She throws those words around like Roseluck tossing ponies flowers. Midnight doesn't get it. She'll never get it.
"Twilight, I don't think you understand."
"Understand?" Twilight held back tears.
"Twilight, what we did together every other night this past week was... it was..." Midnight chuckled. "Oh, gosh, it's like having to explain quantum physics to a kid. No offense."
"Just spit it out, already," Twilight muttered.
"Twilight, we had sex." Midnight sighed, moving her hands around in front of her face. She held back frustration.
"Yes."
"Twilight... that was it." She tapped her fingers against her leg. "Sex. Just sex."
"It?"
"Twilight, I don't think you'll ever get humans," Midnight declared. She curled her body over upon the pillows and gazed out the window. She took a deep breath. "I didn't want your 'lurve' in the true Disney-crap sense of the word. You're hot. I'm hot. What was wrong with some late night fun? Like humans do. That's what humans do."
Twilight stepped closer. She put a hoof on Midnight's side, not sure how to even begin to finish this conversation. Midnight shifted over in a way that clearly said 'keep on touching me', but she kept on looking away.
"Humans breathe. Humans poop. Humans get acne and bad breath. Humans have sex. Humans wear shoes. It's nothing more or less than that." She put her hands behind her head. "I mean, we have to have sex. It's comforting. Otherwise, I'd keep having those bitchin' migranes and stuff. You know?"
Twilight closed her eyes as she moved her other hoof against Midnight's side. She pretended that she didn't care about Midnight's words. She pretended that she could just rub her soft fur against Midnight's perfect, smooth skin. She pretended that she wasn't barely keeping from bawling her eyes out.
"Gotta be honest, sweetheart." Midnight whistled as she brushed her fingers against the side of her head. Twilight laid her body against Midnight's side, still playing as if she didn't care. "For humans, we... we just have sex. And that's it. There's no great meaning or significance to it. I dunno. Philosophical crap isn't my strong suit." She looked down at the mare. "Of course, I'll miss you." She hugged her, patting her on the head. "But that's life. It sucks, but what can you do?"
"I'll miss you too." Twilight opened her eyes, gazing upwards at Midnight. The girl had poised herself with Twilight curled around in her lap, embracing her with her legs arching around Twilight's bottom hooves.
"Don't worry. I'll give you a pre-break-up screw. It's the least I can do. Hell, I even gave it to Bobby, even though he fagged off to Vivian."
The term 'pre-break-up screw' carved into Twilight's mind, feeling like a jagged knife slicing right along her head and shooting pains throughout her. She cried as she nodded her head 'yes'. Midnight leaned over, lips out, and Twilight tried to clear her mind of that awful conversation.
Their lips locked. Twilight groaned. Deep, emotion-filled kiss folded into deep, emotion-filled kiss, with Midnight's tongue teasing around the edges of Twilight's mouth. She felt Midnight's talented hands moving through her mane, rubbing and touching it against her back.
Midnight spun her body to the side, lying Twilight along the pillows, and she licked her lips. Twilight put her hooves up in supplication, feeling herself getting very wet very quickly between her legs. Midnight littered a trail of kisses around Twilight's neck and around her chest. She felt Midnight's long, tender slurps along her fur, and she shivered with jolts of sheer pleasure.
Midnight's hands moved down Twilight's back over to her flanks. She squeezed, fingers digging into her cutie marks. Twilight opened her legs up wider, and she panted hard as Midnight's kisses went over to her belly. Midnight popped down to her flanks, nibbling a little against her body, and Twilight felt her mind almost swelling up with pure bliss.
"Oh, you just wait, sweetheart," Midnight said. "We haven't even begun." She lined her head up with Twilight's dripping wet marehood, and she made a long slurp upwards from bottom to top. Her lips flickered around the very top, playing with Twilight's clit.
She screamed. She felt ripples of powerful pleasure coursing through her body, and her hooves rubbed up against Midnight's long, flowing hair. Midnight went on, licking up and down over and over again. Twilight felt Midnight's hand curling around her flanks, her head pressing forwards. Glorious lick followed glorious lick.
Midnight started to move her tongue inside, just teasing the mare at first. Twilight made a torrent of gasps, her head wiggling from inside the mound of pillows. She bit one of them, feeling such unbelievable surges of pleasure. Midnight's slurps danced little shapes atop Twilight's marehood. She finally paused, lining up right with Twilight's clit, and she stuck her tongue in deeply.
Twilight's mouth enveloped the pillow, soaking it. She felt sweat pouring from her head as her mind experienced burst after burst of bliss. Midnight curled her tongue around far inside, her lips nudging around so wonderfully. Twilight couldn't bear it much longer, surge after surge of emotions flowing through her, and she began to wiggle her flanks around. She felt herself building up and up, getting super close.
Midnight moaned. Twilight moaned louder. Midnight suddenly reached up, hands going off of Twilight's flanks and rubbing up along her unicorn horn. Twilight opened her mouth up wide, hardly able to breathe. As Midnight's fingers stroked every last inch of her brightly lit horn, Twilight felt the endless waves of pleasure throwing her right over the line. She shivered.
"Miiiiiiiiiidnight!" Twilight called out. She felt her mind shooting off into nirvana, getting completely and totally soaked between her legs. She made huge pants as her body quivered even more.
"Yummy," Midnight said, sitting up to the unicorn's side. Twilight gazed at the love juices dripping along Midnight's face, and she could barely keep from just losing it.
Midnight smirked as she rolled over. Twilight magically clutched Midnight's top and hurled it into the air. Her bra followed in a split-second. It was Twilight's turn to lick her lips as she eyed Midnight's small, perky breasts. She leaned over, mouth going over a pretty pink nipple.
"Go crazy!" Midnight called out, playing with Twilight's mane once again.
Twilight slurped all around her chest, loving that taste. She suckled Midnight's left breast as her hooves squeezed her right breast, groaning all the while. Midnight's breath got a lot faster as Twilight started sucking harder, the unicorn's tongue playing such wonderful games inside of her mouth.
Twilight moved to the other breast, a thick saliva trail dripping down across Midnight's chest. Twilight kissed again and again, feeling Midnight dig her fingers against her shoulders. She finally pulled herself up, gazing upon the rest of Midnight's wonderful figure. Midnight's smooth human skin felt so amazing, so totally unlike any mare or stallion every could. She just loved that contrast, fur against skin bringing tingles of pleasure every time.
Midnight cooed as Twilight magically ripped off her shorts. Twilight gazed at Midnight's frilly purple panties, a thick wet stain in the middle of them showing just how much Midnight needed her to get started. Twilight leaned over and bit the edge, slowly and dramatically pulling the panties down. She loved it. Midnight always loved it as well.
Twilight finally perched her body above Midnight's. They gazed into each other's eyes, bodies quivering with anticipation. Twilight lit up her horn brightly, and she created a magical pulse down between their legs. Midnight gasped, feeling Twilight's magical thing rubbing up against her womanhood.
Twilight couldn't bear it for another second. She had to have Midnight's wonderful body, all of it. She pumped downwards, her magical pulse going through both of them. They both moaned loudly, loving that sheer pleasure that almost boiled their brains.
Midnight had a hair trigger. So did Twilight. As the unicorn charged up that magical link between the two of them, feeling ridges and nudges rubbing up inside their slits in the way that no non-magical, physical dildo ever could, she knew that they would both erupt at any second.
Twilight pumped again and again. She felt torrents of bliss erupting inside of Midnight's body as well as her own. Midnight's hips moved up, eager to get every last charge of Twilight's magic. The unicorn grit her teeth, feeling herself prepared to surge her magic straight inside of Midnight's beautiful womanhood.
"Aaaaaaaaaaaauuuuggggghhhh!" Midnight yelled, hands smacking against Twilight's body.
It had ended way too soon. They both knew it, but they barely cared. As Twilight felt thousands of explosions of pleasure going off inside her head for the second time, Midnight shivered, the wonderful sensations proving almost too much. They laid down besides each other in the bed, hooves rubbing against arms and legs.
Twilight gazed upon Midnight as she drifted off to sleep. She stood up and leaned up against the wall, sighing. It only took a moment to magically clean the clothes and fold them onto a nice, neat pile besides the bed for when Midnight woke back up. It'll only be a few minutes, probably.
Twilight walked out of her bedroom, taking care to lock it with that special spell that meant only Midnight or her could open it. She headed down to her library, magically pulling over a scroll and pen. She paused. Goodness, how do I even begin? She closed her eyes, and she flashed back to that moment where Midnight and her had just meant. As she opened her eyes, she had already started writing.
{ Dear Angela "Midnight Sparkle" Sparks,
By the time you've opened this letter up, you've already made it back to your apartment and you're prepared to get settled back into your old life. There are so many things that I want to say. There are so many things that I feel. There are so many things that you need to know. But, still, I can sum these all up in four simple words.
Midnight, I love you.
I know that you used me for comfort. I know that I have to be honest and admit that I used you for comfort as well. I'm far from being the sort of mare that has a long line of sexual conquests behind me, keeping this collection of ponies that I can call on at more or less every moment.
I understand that you humans have a particular lifestyle. You live like that. You'll have sex with many individuals in your life, meeting them in a variety of circumstances from friendship to a work relationship and more, and you'll have a real, life-long connection with none or almost none of them. I understand that this sort of thing is normal for you humans, and to think otherwise is considered eccentric or even wrong in your world. I have zero moral problem with this, and I wish you well.
At the same time, I owe you complete and total honesty. I wanted more than comfort from you. I needed more. I couldn't just have sex with you the same way that I'd scratch an itch on my hoof or rub my nose with a tissue. When I said that I love you, I meant that I'd love you forever. And I meant that. I mean it now, with all of my heart. Forever.
I know that you've made your decision. I just have to let you know that, now matter what you do on your planet and no matter how much time passes, you'll always have a home here in Equestria. With me. If you ever change your mind, then you'll know with absolute certainty that I'll be here for you.
Always.
Sincerely,
Twilight Sparkle
Twilight folded the scroll into a plain envelope. She trotted over to the door and placed the envelope deep inside an inner pocket in Midnight's coat. She whispered a quick spell, one that would keep it invisible and out of the way for just enough time before it reappeared, and she sighed. Twilight gazed out the window one again.
Always.
