MLP the Macross Saga

Authors note: the following is loosely base off Robotech the Marcoss Saga by Harmony Gold USA and not the original The Super Dimension Fortress Macross (original Japanese version).

As this is a re-imagining being set in the My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Universe, some characters are going to be dropped from Robotech to make room for some MLP characters, while others are going to be combined or changed to fit the new setting.

The Nations of the world are at war. This has been the most horrific war in centuries, as Equestria has not officially been in war since ancient times. Many other nations and kingdoms who are more accustomed to battle also feel this war's price is too high. It all started with the Changlings trying to turn various nations at each other to weaken there forces making them easier targets. Unfortunately the Changeling's plans have backfired, Queen Chrysalis didn't expect every nation doubling their defenses and learning of the Changeling's deceit. Unfortunately the political damage is done and what nations used to be old allies became harsh enemies. The Griffon Kingdom broke alliances with the Ponies, the Ponies and the Zebras also was at each other, the Orcs, Goblins, Diamond Dogs and even the dragon tribes were involved.

One small island in tropical waters south east of Equestria was a prime strategic point for the war named Macross. Macross is small, and have little in terms of natural resources, but it's location was a a vital point to launch attacks to any number of nations.

Sorrin once a member of the Wonderbolts stunt group now joined the Equestrian Royal Pegasus Air Force was leading a squadron to scout out the island.

Sorrin decided to leave the Wonderbolts out of a sense of civic duty, as his flight skills can be served to protect rather than entertained. The day Sorrin left Spit Fire was furious; usually when a Wonderbolt member leaves they are given a final flight performance at their last show. Usually pegsi who go do there final flight with the Wonderbolts are retiring from the field and decide to move on to something else. Not Sorrin, he did not wait for a final flight performance. He just flat out said he is leaving for the military and left. Spit Fire felt betrayed by her former team mate; until he returned back from training back to their training area in Cloudsdale speak with her. Sorrin said to Spit Fire "I did not want to have a final flight because I an not quitting the group, just there something when a pony got to do a pony got to do". "I am coming back Spit Fire, final flights are for the final time and I intend to return". Spit Fire hesitated a moment before saying smiling slightly "alright then you better come back, and that is not a option".

Sorrin could not help to think about Spit Fire, his family, and his adopted little brother Arrow Hunter is parents took in. Arrow's father died in the early days of the war and his father was close friends to Sorrin's father, and with Arrow not having any other family the young colt was brought in as one of their own. Sorrin also made the promise to Arrow that he will return.

Sorrin's Squadron was encircling the far east side of the island, little as the group of armored pegsi knew the other side of the island was a Orc sub. The sub's commander Admiral Gloval also was scouting the island. Unlike other Orc commanders, Gloval though things first before making his attack, he ran a tight ship. He was one of the few Orc commanders who refused Orc berserkers on board citing there no room for chaos and a lack of discipline on the seas. Gloval respected is adversaries,  he understood the ponies are not to be underestimated. And it was not just the two alicorns Gloval had a healthy respect for, he seen what earth ponies, pegsi and unicorns are capable of. Gloval was aware of six mares who saved Equestra and possibly the whole Earth on more than one occasion. Unlike the typical orc stereotype Admial Gloval was an educated man and gentlemen. Similar to Captains and Admirals who sailed on the wooden ships of old, brave stern men who faced the unknown while holding to what made them civilized in the first place. The orc admiral stroke his mustache as he wonders what is his enemies next move. His radar man is tracking the pegsi squadron in the air, Gloval took a closer look at the radar. From these flight patens he isn’t dealing with some random group of Pegasus ponies, these are led by someone who knows what they are doing. Unfortunately for the Pegsi they cannot see this far into the sea and see the submarine cruising by.

That is when both commanders’ orc and pony alike is taken by surprise. Something big is tearing though the atmosphere. Sorrin calls out to his team “bank hard right everypony”.  One of the sub crew called out “Sir” there is a large object falling at this area and fast. Instruments all over the bridge lights up, confirming the crewmember’s concerns with the dangerous object. Sensing the emproching shock wave Gloval calls out “go hard port then full power to proposition”.  Sorrin looks back “prepaire for the blast”.

The blast that hit the island was felt from miles away.

A gigantic alien spaceship broke though hyperspace and is with the collision force with the earth. During it’s uncontrolled fall from the sky the alien battle fortress produce shockwaves of incredible force.

Somehow the two forces survived, with the recent shock-wave. The pegsi somehow landed in the ocean, ruffled and bruised but alive they worked their way out of the water, shook out their wings. Sorrin looked up and said after we figure out what was that thing, were heading back to base.

The craft measured nearly 3 quarters of a mile and there no sign of the giant alien crew. The armored hull has taken the brunt of the damage leaving much of the sophisticated technological systems intact. What remained is a civilization that is light years of anything ahead of earth most advanced thinking.

Global war ravaged the earth, but even this was pale to the threat of alien invasion. A cease fire was agreed, as world leaders band together to form a united earth government. Under this new government the world’s most brilliant minds consisting formed a research team that studied and restored the alien space fortress. Reverse engineering technological systems and deciphering partial documents. Teams of ponies, griffon, zebra, goblin, orc, changeling, diamond dogs and even dragons worked on the fallen ship to unravel the secrets of the ship and to defend their planet.
