The Liberation of Equestria
Chapter 7
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe area around the entry portal has been deforested hundred yards in every direction, allowing for a construction of a forward operating base (F.O.B) for military operations in this world. Barracks have begun construction along with an armory, intelligence building, hangers for aircraft, a runway, and a medical facility. But for now, tents, Strykers, and any vehicle would have to suffice.
When the 75th Rangers returned, everyone was dumbfounded by what they also brought back. The rangers explained that they were refugees and camp guards which made heads turn for most of the base personal, except for a few officers. As they were given classified information about what the centaurs provided about their world.
Walking to the command center Davis was summoned, along with the rest of the 75th Ranger regiment, to be bereft about what the world they entered. TwoMP stood in front of the entrance, each armed with an M16 and Bretta M9A3.
"Lieutenant." The MP said.
"Sargent." Davis said.
After giving the passcode, one MP opened the door and the other escorted Davis to the briefing room. The room hosted a Zebra, who identified himself as one of the guards at the camp, sitting on the opposite side of the room. Two MP's stood at the ends of the room were the door was.
Sitting in the chair, Davis began to ask questions to the Zebra.
"Who are you?" Davis asked.
"My name is Ziek." The Zebra said.
"Are you a guard from the camp?"
"Yes, I was tasked with watching out for any threats to the camp and it's occupants." Ziek said. "Who are you then?" Ziek asked, "I have never seen your kind, nor has anypony else."
"I'm human." Davis said, "me and along with the others that have came as well."
"Why are you here then?" Ziek asked.
"We're at war with the centaurs." Davis said.
"Hmm. It seems that we have a common enemy as well." Ziek said.
"Your at war with them as well?" Davis asked.
"Not directly," Ziek said, "we have tried helping our friends fend off the centaurs invasions of their countries. But it seems we are next."
"Can you take us to your capital?" Davis asked.
"I can, but I don't know how our leaders will react to seeing your kind." Ziek said.

After getting Ziek's cooperation, Davis, and a few Soldiers loaded up on a UH-60 Black Hawk, while another Black Hawk and two Apache gunships followed. Ziek was impressed with humans technological advances, comparing their vehicles to a mix pegasi, Griffins, and centaur aircraft. While only being able to compare their weapons to the centaurs.
Ziek directed the pilots to the capital city. When the helicopters reached the capital city, the human soldiers could only compare the city to an African village except ten times larger.
"Is this it?" Davis asked.
"Yes," Ziek said, "the central area is the governmental district."
"Roger. Pilot set down as close as you can to the center of the city."
"Roger." The black hawk pilot said.
The black hawk slowly descended into the city's central district, which caught the attention of the inhabitants. By the time of the black hawk landed, a large crowd formed around the helicopter, questioning where it, and it's occupants, came from. As more gathered around the helicopter, guards began to get sight seers from getting to close, as nopony knew where it came from.
When Davis and Ziek stepped out of the black hawk, a guard began to talk to Davis.
"What are you?" The guard asked.
"He and his people are here to help us." Ziek said,"we need to get to the council quickly."
"What for?" The guard asked.
"The centaurs." Ziek said.
Immediately the crowd went deathly silent. They all knew that the centaurs would soon wipe out their country, but they never thought it would happen so soon. Guards began to tell everypony to head home, and wait for further information.
"We'll take you to the council immediately, they'll want to hear this." The guard said.
***
The council was always fractured. As nothing was ever agreed apon, unless there was a compromise. Two parties ruled the council, the rightist and the leftist. Each side had their own ideas of what the government should do and shouldn't do. The fact that worldwide conquest was happening never united the councilors, as none wanted to be start a war.
"I will never agree to increasing the number of guards by draft councilor Viek!" Zim yelled out.
"The centaurs are already building up troops on our boarders," Viek said, "we have reports that fifty thousand centaurs troops have deployed along the northern mountains boarders and Cape Hoof Bay. We need to take immediate action now!"
"I agree with councilor Viek," Maki said, "doing nothing is foolish. We need to increase the number of guards."
"And what of the repercussions?" Councilor Marko said, "If we go to war, how many fathers and mothers will bury their children? War will only end in with many dead and broken."
"It is to late now for peace now." Ziek said, as he busted the door open. Soon all eyes looked apon him, as if he committed a murder.
"And how is that?" Councilor Zim asked.
"The centaurs are already beginning the conquest of our nation." Ziek said.
"You can't be serious?" Councilor Zim said.
"I am. And we're going to need every-bodied Zebra to fight, if we're going to stand a chance to repeal the centaurs."
"And who is this?" Councilor San said, speaking for the first time since the bickering started. "I have never seen a creature like that."
Before Ziek could say anything, Davis spoke. "I'm Lieutenant Davis, of the United States Army, 75th Rangers Regiment."
"And why are you here?" Councilor San said.
"My country is at war with the centaurs councilor."
"And you have brought our country into the conflict!" Zim said, accusing him.
"He did not councilor," Ziek said, "the centaurs launched a attack on the refugee camp I was stationed at. If it wasn't for the intervention of the humans, the centaurs would be marching into our country at full force."
The room went silent, knowing the truth that centaurs were about to add their country as another territory. Now both parties knew what's at stake.
"What can we do?" Councilor Marko said.
After a long moment of silence, Davis broke the silence.
"Fight," Davis said, "the only way to insure the safety of your country and it's citizens is to fight. Muster up everyone who can carry a sword and shield."
Though Zim and his supporters were against the idea, it was the only way to stop the spread of the centaurs path of worldwide conquest. After ten minutes of debating councilor Viek spoke, "A draft will be issued to every village and town, all stallions of the age of eighteen to thirty will be required to join the military. The council is ad-"
"The centaurs have begun siege of Cape Hoof, Zimhoof, and the northern city!" A Zebra guard said, as the doors busted open.
"How is that possible!" Councilor Zim said.
"Lieutenant Davis," councilor Viek said, "can your race help use fend off the centaurs?"
"I'll get in contact with my superiors and see what we can do." Davis said.

After a half hour flight back to the F.O.B, Davis immediately started heading to the base command center, to tell his superiors what he was told. In the command room, five large monitors stood displaying representatives from each branch of the military, including the president of the United States.
"lieutenant Davis." President Jackson said.
"Mister president." Davis said.
"What's the situation on there?" General Mcknight asked.
"The plant is described just like the centaur P.O.W's said." Davis said.
"You're serious about this lieutenant Davis?" General Mcknight said.
"Yes I am sir."
"This is unprecedented," Admiral Samuel said, "a world filled with mythological creatures, and animals on our world that are sentient as well."
"We've made contact with the Zebra government as well," Davis said," as we have set up base in their country with out knowing."
"How they take it?" President Jackson asked.
"We have been asked to help with repelling the centaurs invasion of their country." Davis said.
"Davis." President Jackson said.
"Sir."
"Do what you need to do. Anyone or anything who is suffering under the centaurs tyranny, will not be alone in their fight."
"Yes sir." Davis said, " any word on the United Nations response?"
"The UN is called for an emergency session to wether or not humanity as a whole declare war on the centaurs." Jackson said." NATO members are sending in troops to help us out."
"We'll need all the help we can get sir." Davis said.
"This meeting is adjured, good luck Lieutenant Davis and god speed."

Awakening from his blackout, Spike found himself in a mostly white room, while laying in a somewhat comfy bed. A clear tube was sticking out of his left arm with a clear bag on the end of it. Different machines were hooked up to him, each with a different function.
"Welcome back to the land of the living." A human doctor said.
"Where am I?" Spike asked.
"You're in a hospital." the doctor replied. Spike then tried to get up but the doctor stopped him. "I'd wouldn't recommend getting out of bed just yet. You got a fracture in your left arm, right leg and a few broken ribs."
"Where are my friends?" Spike asked.
"They're in the room next door." The doctor said. "They're being checked for any injuries, I could see if they could be moved over to this room."
"Thanks mister-" Spike said.
"Jordan, my name is Jordan."
Jordan left the room, for about a minute or two. When he came back, Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, Big Mac, and everypony else came in, all happy to see Spike.
"How you doing big guy?" Night Light asked.
"Other than the broken bones, I'm alright." Spike said sarcastically. Everyone in the room chuckled a little at the joke, including Jordan as well."When am I going to be able to get out of this bed?"
"In about three to five days," Jordan said, "though I wouldn't know."
"How come?" Apple Bloom asked.
"I only know human anatomy, we don't have dragons on our world."
"You're not from Equu?" Velvet asked.
"I'm from earth," Jordan said, "more specifically I'm from the United States."
"Why are you here though?" Sweetie Belle asked. "Wouldn't you want to be home."
After a long minute, Jordan sighed, "My country is at war with the centaurs." Everypony was sympathetic to Jordan, as they were were on the run from the centaurs. "We invaded by them about a month ago, they nearly took the entire midwest. But we were able to turn the tables on them and push them back through the portal they came through. Now we're here."
"You're going to fight the centaurs?" Button asked, "that's crazy, it's the like fighting a dragon with nothing but a stick!"
"Well in some cases that's true," Jordan said, "but we humans are one of the most batshit insane creatures that have ever been created. From what I'm guessing war must be rare here, right?"
"We've never had a war within a thousand years." Velvet said.
"Well," Jordan said," we just got out of a conflict with another country just a few months ago before the centaurs came. Our race has been fighting since the first day we were conceived. Mostly because we had to, otherwise we wouldn't be here today. War for us is justified. My country fought for it's independence from being a colony."
Everypony was a little unnerved from what they all heard. For them war was a foreign concept and were taught that war is unnecessary. But for humans it's something that happens all the time, and are fought for all different kinds of reasons.
"But," Jordan continued, "we try everyday to bring peace to everyone, end old hatreds, atone for our sins. war is in our nature, it always has been."
