It was a bright and sunny day in equestria, and fun times and delight was abound all over ponyville. The birds were in the sky chirping their little heads off and pegasi couples were busy copulating on lonely drifting clouds, their minds free from worry and strife. Down below on the ground, drowning in a literal sea of boredom and multi-colored squid, discord was lazily drifting along beside a particularly giant squid. Slowly passing by the mammoth creature, discord took in a breath of heavy, slow water and sighed with much annoyance.

"Oh Paul... you're the only one who truly doesn't understand me..."

Discord, the master of chaos, the god of randomness, and the prince of nothing to do lifted a claw and with a quick snap, the ponyville pond was back to normal, much to the delight of several ponies who were arriving for a nice relaxing day in the water. slowly floating towards ponyville bakery, and shrouded in a spell of invisibility, Discord thought about what he wanted to do for the day, and came up with nothing. normally in such a rut, he would go visit his friend fluttershy, or one of the other colorful equines, but they were all super busy. Arriving at the bakery, and phasing through the wall to secretly watch the pink party mare, he noticed that she was indeed working her "patooty" off like she said she would be doing. He spent the next few hours of that boring, unbelievably exhausting day checking on each mare and stallion in the small town, each time unnoticed as he watched them go about their even more boring lives. Occasionally he found some small measure of excitement in the form of a angry beaver or some rebucioncus couple engaging in pleasurable pastimes, but not even this could bring him out of his stupor. In a last ditch effort, Discord stopped by the home of Cameral who had a certain... special somepony visitor. Rolling his eyes, discord muttered to himself,

"Jeeze, these ponies sure do engage in mating a lot....I have lots of work to do!"

Grinning evilly, he surrounded caramel in a unoticeable shroud of pheromones. Expecting a very exciting evening, he conjured  a bucket of popcorn covered jelly beans,  leaned back into his pink bean bag chair ready for some fun.  Watching a certain teal colored musical mare walk through the door, his grin grew even more when he realized he could double the fun by using the opposite spell of what he cast on caramel, onto her. Cracking his knuckles, he sent a small shockwave of zig-zagging energy towards the unsuspecting mare, and when the spell bounced off her skin like a rubber ball dodge ball on a greasy teenagers face, his eyebrows grew an extra 2 feet in curiosity.

"Well thats not supposed to happen... lets find out why!

happy to have found some entertainment, he dug deeper into her physical and psychological structure, he felt a hugely powerful magical barrier preventing him from going any further. Finding a spell that could stop HIM, ( with a dramatic claw flourish towards his chest ) his determination grew 100-fold and he simply "popped" the spell out of existence. Having nothing more stopping him, he dug into the magical mystery, and what he found terrified, excited, and sickened him.

"This... this isnt right... not at all..."

His smile turned into a frown and his gut roiled with worry, he stopped what he was doing and quickly teleported away with a snap of his claw to his thinking spot. Sitting surrounded by gladiator bunnies and celtic hawks fighting for survival in an arena, he pondered what he had just found, what to do about it, and most importantly, how to fix it by being exactly what fluttershy told him to be... a friend to someone in need.

"This is not gonna turn out good, but i have to do something..." In an instant he was gone, on his way to fix this little dilemma no matter who he angered or what got in his way.

Dear princess Celestia, today I...

"No that wont work..."

With a rather loud cry of frustration slammed her quill down on desk, knocking over small jars of ink and scrolls of paper, which she quickly magicked back to normal.

Twilight Sparkle, the personal student of the solar goddess, and the current inhabitant of the ponyville library was busy, rather unsuccessfully, writing a very special letter to her mentor.

"Sweet Celestia... why is this so hard?! its only a magical disturbance... why does it feel like i shouldn't tell her?"

The frustrated unicorn huffed in annoyance, crumpled the paper and threw it in the bin, or at least what she thought was the bin. hitting a startled tiny green dragon in the head, the small bit of paper bounced off and fell right into the bowl of soup he was bringing to the worked up mare. lightly laughing, spike spoke up, startling the bookworm.

"Gee-whiz Twilight... if you wanted your lunch sooner you should've said something..."

"Sorry Spike... I didn't see you... its just this burst of arcane energy, its  got me so worked up. its out of place and its nothing the average, everyday unicorn is capable of."

"Is it really that important? Wouldn't the princess take care of it if was a matter of pony security?" the little dragon spoke up with a hint of fear in his squeaky voice.

"Thats the thing spike, she doesn't know about it! i have been trying to tell her about it but for some reason every time i think about the event, or try and write to her about it, its as if my mind goes blank and i cant think straight. I think whatever has to do with the magical disturbance is causing me to be unable to contact anypony about it."

A silent spike stood in front of the exhausted mare with a worried expression on his face. Considering that anything that could affect such a magically gifted unicron, what she had just told him wasn't good. He was about to raise a claw in the air and open his mouth to offer a suggestion, but was stopped short by a loud bang signaling the library doors being slammed opened. Faster than any normal pony, and even princess cadance, Rainbow Dash herself flew towards Twilight at breakneck speed, and only avoided crashing into her thanks to Twilight's quick magical net that caught the bullet-like pegasus.

"Rainbow! what in the wide world of equestria do you think your doing?! you almost flew right into me!"

"Sorry twilight! normally I would fly through the window, but you bolted it shut last week. I had to get here fast to tell you that Fluttershy has requested an emergency meeting at her place."

Aflush with worry, Twilight momentarily forgot about Rainbow's blunder in etiquette as her mind ran through the possible reasons for such a gathering. Seeing that familiar look on the purple unicorns face, Rainbow  figured she would save time by telling Twilight the reason for the meeting.

"Its about Discord" she muttered with disdain and a practically solid amount of venom in her words.

That simple sentence was all that was needed for Twilight and Spike to rev into serious mode, and within moments all 3 of them were out to he door, heading towards Fluttershy's cottage.
