As the sun rose over the everfree forest valley sending the shadows of the
mountains in full retreat sending long snake like shadows on the landscape causing
all the residents of the village and surrounding woods to stir from their sleep, young
and old, big and small. Well most of them anyways…
“Hey... hey... wake up already.”
As I rouse from the sleep that now runs from me like I have the plague I realize that I’m not alone. As my vision returns to me I recognize the figure standing in the front of my room was my old pegis friend Thunder Chaser with his stormy grey coat, lighting yellow hair, and his thunder cloud shaped cutie mark wearing his stupid “I like being up early grin on his face” idiot.
“Ugh. What in the goddess name are you doing here so early. It hardly morning yet.” I say with
hint of sleep still in my voice.
“Well Mr. morning griffon. It’s already morning.” He
says sarcastically “and if you keep sleeping ya won’t be able to keep that new job of
your with the weather patrol. And … HEY WAKE UP!” he yells in my ear.
“ I’m up I’m up. Dam no need to yell in my fucking ear like that.” I complain while getting out of my bed. “Besides I already checked the schedule for this week it’s going to be bright and sunny skies for the next week. I’m it’s not like we have any major weather to work on or anything.” I
say in more most matter-of-fact voice I can.
“ Well be that as it may the fact remains that the sooner we finish today’s work the sooner we can go hit the clubs and find us so tail to chase.” He says with exuberance filling his voice.
“Well I guess your right. Ok give me a minute to wash up before we head out ok.” I say.
“Fine but can you please hurry or we’ll be late and get stuck with some crappy job.” He says with fake dread filling his voice.
“ I’ll just be a minute mom.” As I walk into my bathroom to wash my feathers from the night before and try to style my dark brown head and chest feather in any type of acceptable way. I think about what thunder said early about training to hook up with some hot filly. It not that I don’t like to hang out with him in the bars and clubs I just never really like and of the mares that I meet
there. “Probably because there ponies.” I say to myself.
“Hurry up already.” thunder yells through the door.
“Fine let’s go.” I finally say.

As we flew over the village of Hoofreach toward the weather station that was in
control of the surrounding areas for about 300 square miles. I was absently listening
to what ever thunder was talking about when I saw him. He was without a doubt the
most beautiful griffin I’ve ever seen. The only problem with the thoughts was the
fact that this beautiful griffin before my eyes wasn’t a she but a he, with his dark
purple head feathers spread across his face and chest, so deep was his color that
It was like Luna herself painted her night sky on his feathers. I was so distracted
by his beauty that I nearly crashed mid air with thunder and some other Pegasus.
“Hey watch where you're flying dude.” Some random Pegasus yells to snap me out of
my dream like trance that I was in.
“Hey or you are ya ok there?” thunder ask with
concern in his voice.
“mmh, o ya I’m ok just get little sun in my eyes that’s all.” I lied.
“Well alright then. Hey come on I can see the station, let’s hurry. Last one there
is has to pay for the drinks tonight.” he says with confidence in his voice.
“O your on” I say as we take off with amazing speed. as we were flying toward the weather station i remembered when i first meet thunder. it was freshman year of high school and we shared a home room and are friendship was instantaneous, and we've been friends ever since.
“First.”I yell as I touch down at the cloud where the weather station is.
“What no way, you cheated or something.” Thunder accuses me.
“Too bad you got to pay tonight. What da know maybe it’ll be fun after all.” I tease.

As we were working thunder told me of his time at some young flies thing he went
to go see last week when he was in cloudsdale. “ So then this unicorn with wings
enters with a pretty hot Pegasus with a rainbow mane.”
“ Wait what, a unicorn..with wings. I think you need to stop taking what ever it is your taken before ya get caught.” I say.
“No for real man. From what I heard it was so spell or something. Any ways her wing where like butterfly wings or something really out shining the rainbow chick. And poof. No more wing and see starts falling. She even knocked out the rescue ponies somehow. So the rainbow girl takes off like a bolt of lightning and I don't know how but pulls off a sonic rainboom.”
“You know how I like being lied to. And your pretty high on the shit scale.” I say.
“ no dude this is the real deal. She saved the unicorn and the members of wonder bolts that were acting as the safety officers. It was friggin amazing. So enough of me how was you what was It again you were doing camping?” he said.
“Ya is was camping you know stocking up on food I can’t get in the store, hint hint.” And here it comes.
“Ugh. Man don’t go talking about that you know it gets under my skin and, ugh.” He said with a suder.
“Well if you don’t what to know don’t ask. Besides it not like I’m the only one in Hoofsreach that eats.” i said before i got interrupted
“Don’t say it.” he asked.
“ Well fine I won’t but there are other griffins her and even diamond dogs. What do you think
they eat? Oats.” I finish teasing him.
“Well what ever it was still pretty awesome. So where da what to go tonight, anyplace special.” he ask.
“Well seeing as you're paying I was thinks Griffins Dive in the west side of town.” i tell him.
“Of Course you choose there. Well fine, it looks like we finished today’s work so I’ll see ya there in a couple of hours. Later” he says as he flies off to his apartment.
“While might as well get ready for tonight.” During the flight back to my own apartment I found my mind wandering back to that griffin that I saw this morning. “Hell maybe I’ll see him tonight who knows.” i say to myself.
When I got to thunders apartment so we could get going I hadn’t expected him
taking half an hour just coming his hair. “You’re doing this on purpose aren’t you?” I
said while waiting on his couch in the living room.
“Just because you don’t care what you look like when you go out doesn’t mean I don’t. And besides think of it as payback for this mourning. And maybe next time I won’t have to take so long.” he a says in a irritating voice.
“Fine what ever let’s get going already.” The night was pretty uneventful for the most
part. I watched as thunder tried to get anything from a phone number to a first date
and coming up empty hoofed every time. Then I saw him again. I watched secretly
as he walked in the front door. He came out to the bar next to where I was sitting
ordered “the usual” and went to the back corner of the bar and sat down alone.
“You know him of something?” someone asked.
“ Huh. O thunder it’s you. No I don’t think I know him or anything.” i answered in a distracted voice.
“Well maybe you should oh I don’t know maybe induce yourself, you know make a new friend preferably one that has the same diet issues.” he said in a suggestive voice.
“Mmh, guess I will. Hey” I ask the waitress as she passes. “Is that drink for the griffin in back.” I
ask her.
“Why yes it is.” She answers.
“Mind if I take it to him.” i asked in a hopeful voice.
“Sure saves me the time.” She says as she hands me his drink.
As I walk over to where his sitting I try to quell the thoughts that spring in my head. “Um hello I bought your drink thinking maybe we could talk or something?” idiot. Of all the stupid things to say man I hate myself. Wait why am I so upset?
“Mmm ok I guess so.” He answers in a smooth yet at the same time rough voice.
“ Hi my name is Legion. Legion Quick Wing.” I say as an introduction.
“Nice to meet you Legion, my name is Victor, Victor Silver Beak.”
Victor, finally I can put a name to his beautiful face with his deep sea blue eyes that look like there peering into my very soul. As we talk I begin to realize the feelings I was having trod this. We talked for hours, we talked about are families, friends, and what we did for a living, as it turned out victor was a new resident in hoofsreach and was working on becoming a local painter. Before I knew it, it was closing time and we were the only two customers left in the bar.
“So do you want to go some where or what?” I asked hoping for the right answer.
“Well the night is still young do ya want to head back to my place and talk some more?” he asks.
“Yes.” i say in a embarrassing voice. “I mean ya ok that sounds nice.”

As we walked down the moonlit street toward his apartment I began to wonder
where the night was heading. I’m he’s beautiful and I feel that we … wait what. What
I’m doing I’ve only known this guy for a couple of hours and we just meant, and
since when am I even into guys I mean sure I never really found any of the fillies
around town attractive but that’s because there ponies right?
“You don’t do this often do you?” I hear him say.
“What.” I respond.
“Hooking up with other guys.” He says somehow like he knows what I’m thinking.
“No this is actually my first time doing well anything like this. I just never really felt anything like this for anyone else before.” I say with a hint of fear in my voice.
“It’s ok come on inside and we can talk.” He says in a supporting voice. As I walked into his apartment I couldn’t help but feel completely relaxed yet at the same time like I was going to die
from the nervousness that I was feeling. “It’s ok to be nerves the first time we’ll take
it slow if you want.” He says in a comforting voice.
“Ok.” I say meekly. We start slow rubbing are necks together which as far as I can tell is the equivalent of kissing for ponies. As we continuing with our act of mating we made our way to his bedroom.
