Button Mash: Senior Year
Ch.1: Before the train
"Sweetie? Buttons, yoohoo, time to pack for Manehattan!" Buttons mom said shaking Button Mash.
"Mhhmgh" Button Mash said still half asleep. "Are the Equestrian Crusaders here?"
"Yes Button". Buttons mom said "Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo just got here,the train leaves in 30 minutes
"I CAN'T BE LATE FOR THE TRAIN" Button Mash screamed before getting out of bed at the speed of light packing his tux, beanie, joyboy, Ebox 1 and all his games and running downstairs ,"Hi guys, sorry for being behind schedule" Button Mash said before the rest of the group sighed.
"As always" said Scootaloo with a grin on her face.
"He isn't ALWAYS behind," Sweetie Belle in an attempt to defend Button. "He's just fashionably late.... I do wish he could brush his mane though."
Scootaloo let out a large sigh and said "Buttons mane always looks like that, unless he has a fancy event to go to."
"Yeah,Yeah,Yeah I know that my mane is messed up, but Sweetie Belle can obsess over fixing it some other time" Button Mash said. Sweetie Belle blushed and looked towards the floor,"Now how long do we have before the train leaves now? 15,20 minutes?
Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo and Apple Bloom burst out laughing. "A'h believe we have 7 hours before the train arrives" Apple Bloom said wiping a tear from her eye "You've been duped by your own mother into preparing ahead of time."
"Mom, is this true? "
"Yes Button "
"What-the-HAY MOM!"
"If I hadn't tricked you you wouldn't have ever left."
"Ugh,whatever mom." Button Mash said ending the argument."Sooo, what do you three want to do now that we have seven hours to spare? "
"Well, we could go get Rumble's ass out of bed and packed as well" Scootaloo suggested, "It would be extremely embarrassing seeing Button out before he is. "
Apple Bloom pulled Scootaloo aside " This could be our chance to finally get Sweetie an' Button together, we leave them here an' not go get Rumble until just before we leave the station giving em some real one on one bonding time ya know?"Apple Bloom was going to beg until Scootaloo said Ok to the plan.
"Fine, but if we get caught, it's on you,not me,you, got it? " Scootaloo said seriously, "I don't want to deal with "hurricane Sweetie " on a 12 hour train ride,no way."
Apple Bloom nodded her head in agreement and they walked back over to Sweetie Belle and Button Mash. "Me an' Scootaloo'll go get Rumble an' you two will stay here,that Ok with you two?" Apple Bloom said hoping that they agreed with the idea.
"Sure" Button Mash said.
"Ditto" Sweetie Belle said.
Apple Bloom screamed in her head thank you so much for the amazing luck!
"We had better get going Apple Bloom, I really want to see Rumble's face when we tell him he was later than Button Mash," Scootaloo said before trotting out the Mash's front door.
"Ah'd better get caught up with Scootaloo, see ya'll later!" Apple Bloom said before galloping to Scootaloo.
"So..... what do you want to do Button?" Sweetie Belle asked
" If you want to, two games released recently and I haven't played either very much, if you want we can play those."
"What games?" Sweetie Belle asked.
"Dying Bright and Evolve, in Dying Bright you fight zombies and in Evolve you hunt brutal magical beasts, I also have Titanfall if you prefer an older game, never got old to me." Button Mash began to ramble on about how people turn on good games.
"Button, Button, BUTTON!"
Button Mash stopped rambling and turned back to Sweetie Belle and blushed, "Sorry Sweetie," he said.
"It's ok, everyone rambles about something occasionally, lets play some Dying Bright it sounds cool."
Button Mash's mood brightened "Dying Bright it is, now make room for the button masher!" Button Mash hopped onto the couch and Sweetie Belle laid her head on his shoulder.
I really think that it's a good time to ask if he loves you Sweetie, Sweetie Belle thought. Button leaned his head on hers, such opportunity Sweetie!, don't waste it! "H..hey Button?"
"Ws'up Sweetie?" when Sweetie Belle didn't respond Button Mash became serious, pausing the game he looked to Sweetie Belle."Is something wrong?" no response. "Sweetie Belle, you're scaring me here, what's wrong?" Button Mash asked again.
"N..nothing."
"You sure Sweetie?"
"Yeah...I'm sure"
"Okay then," Button said trying to understand what happened.
Button Mash wrapped his hoof around Sweetie Belle and brought her close and put a controller in her hoof," let's kill some zombie ponies" Button Mash said getting a smile from Sweetie Belle. Dammit Button Mash, you could of asked her out! Button Mash thought.
The two played games for four hours without a problem. Sweetie Belle was in the zone, beating zombies to a pulp "SUCK ON HAMMER" Sweetie Belle screamed before bringing the hammer down on an unicorn, right on the horn, and as the horn broke Sweetie froze.
*FLASHBACK TIME*5 years ago (11)
The two crusaders were trying weightlifting cutie marks, Sweetie Belle was lifting a weight over her head. The weight began to snap as the one side moved to the other taking Sweetie Belle with it, the weight missed her face but began to crush Sweetie Belle's horn "HELP ME, SOMEPONY,ANYPONY!" shrieked Sweetie Belle. Button was first to arrive and began pulling on the weight, Button had started puberty already so he was a little stronger than the other fillies and colts. Button Mash looked down at Sweetie Belle with a fire in his eyes as he lifted the weight and bucked it off the metal pole.
"Sweetie Belle, are you going to be ok,?" Button Mash asked taking fast short breaths.Sweetie Belle lifted her hooves off her horn, blood covered her hooves and was oozing from a crack in her horn. "Oh goddess.....not okay Sweetie Belle!"
"Get...a doc,doctor please Button Mash" Sweetie Belle said in lightheaded voice.
Nurse Redheart broke through the crowd and pushed Button Mash aside,"Administering painkillers and anesthetics."
"Is Sweetie Belle going to be okay?," Button Mash asked worried for his friend.
"After some therapy and a few weeks in the hospital she should be able to do any spell she wants to, If it wasn't for you Sweetie Belle wouldn't be alive." Redheart replied.
*FLASHBACK END*
"It hurt so much Button....so,so much." Sweetie Belle said before falling down and crying.
Button Mash moved to the floor and brought Sweetie Belle into warm embrace "Nothing like that will ever happen again, and if it does, I'll be there to lift you back up, Ok?," Button Mash said in a reassuring voice.
Sweetie Belle nodded her head slowly and hugged Button Mash tighter,"Thank you.," she said before giving Button Mash a kiss right on the lips and turning away."I'm sorry " Sweetie Belle said still not looking Button in the eye.
"It's okay, we can forget it happened if you want." Button Mash said.Sweetie Belle didn't respond.
They heard the door open as Rumble stepped into the room"Hey guys who's ready for Manehat-, we're you guys getting ready to go at it,? If you are I'll leave you two alone we've got about an hour , I'll tell Scoots and Apple Bloom you guys aren't here... got here way before they will."
"Rumble I.....NO we-not going," Button Mash tried to get the words out but they would not leave his mouth. To retain any dignity Button Mash hit Rumble across the face.
"Ow!, what was that for?" Rumble asked rubbing his cheek.
"For saying that I was about to "sex" Sweetie Belle."Button Mash replied angrily.
"You're saying you don't want to?" Rumble said with a
grin, that drew Sweetie Belle's attention.
If I say no Sweetie will possibly be offended, if I say yes I might become a young father . Button Mash thought before saying "lets get to the train early, we will get better seats in the waiting lounge,lets go BYE MOM"
Button Mash managed to get out in one breath before grabbing his bags and running.
"Does that mean he would, or wouldn't?" Sweetie Belle asked Rumble.
"Means Button Mash has feelings to talk about " Rumble said before flying out the door to catch up with Button Mash.
"Where the hell are they off to?" Scootaloo asked turning her head to Sweetie Belle.
"To the train station" SweetieBelle replied.
"Button Mash, early to the station? Scootaloo said in a sarcastic voice."What happened?"
"I'll tell you later lets follow them." Sweetie Belle said picking up her bags.
"Apple Bloom is already on their tails, we will meet the three there" Scootaloo said flying just next to Sweetie Belle.
When Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo arrived Apple Bloom and Button Mash were arguing "Ya just ran off like that, the hell is wrong with you Button Mash? I'd be surprised if ya didn't upset her, but if ya did so help me ah will beat ya till ya bleed ya hear me!" Apple Bloom said clearly beside herself with rage.
"It isn't my fault Rumble asked a question I wasn't ready to handle, what would you answer? " Button Mash said struggling to keep his voice down.
"Ah would've said I wasn't looking for that kind of thing and reasoned to ensure that everypony was ok,ah wouldn't have run away like a coward." Apple Bloom said with as much hatred possible.
"It wasn't cowardly, it was out of fear that she would get hurt by what I said"
"BULLSHIT " Apple Bloom screamed as she turned around and bucked Button Mash into a nearby kiosk.
The two began to fight in the center of the lounge, Button Mash was getting ready to take another blow, but the blow never came.
When Button Mash opened his eyes he realized Apple Bloom was in suspended animation."Stop fighting please." Button Mash turned his head to see Sweetie Belle trying to hold Apple Bloom in her frozen state "you okay Button?" Sweetie Belle said moving to check injuries.
"Yeah I'm fine but, she hits really, really hard." Button Mash said pointing a bloody hoof at Apple Bloom."I might not be as ok as I originally thought." Button Mash continued looking at his side,it was filled with pieces of kiosk.
"I'll be able to patch that up with bandages and rubbing alcohol." Sweetie Belle said grabbing some material from a health kit at the front desk.
"This going to hurt?" Button Mash asked.
"Not really, I'll just pick out the pieces clean the open cuts then bandage you." Sweetie Belle said as she began picking pieces of glass and wood out of Button Mash. "One more piece, there we go..... a little rubbing alcohol and wrap the bandages around and we are
done!" Sweetie Belle said tying off the bandages.
"Thank you Sweetie Belle, now what do we do with Apple Bloom? Button Mash asked nervously.
"I'll unfreeze her on the train" Sweetie Belle thought on that and said " maybe we can play spin the Bloom with her I mean, she is frozen."
Button Mash smiled and said "genius." "I think we should get Rumble, Apple Bloom stuffed him in a dumpster." Button Mash said.
"Already got him." Scootaloo said from behind Button Mash. "He smells horrible." Scootaloo finished scrunching her muzzle up.
"I don't smell that bad..... they will let me on the train right ?" Rumble asked rubbing himself in air freshener.
"Just keep rubbing that air freshener buddy don't stop until you smell like a dog, then you're fine." Button Mash said taunting Rumble.
"Shut up. " Rumble said sticking his tongue out.
"Ooh is Button getting under your skin?" Scootaloo asked in a baby voice.
A voice boomed through the room "one minute until the Manehattan train leaves."
"Crusaders, grab your bags and RUN!" Button Mash screamed as he grabbed his saddlebags and suitcase and ran to the train.
The crusaders arrived just in time to board the train
"All aboard the train to Manehattan" the conductor said as the train left the station.
"we made it crusaders" Button Mash said as Ponyville disappeared.
