Shining Stars

I really missed my mom. She was the only one I missed, although I missed Manehattan very much.

So I went through the portal not knowing Adagio, Aria, and Sonata had seen me go through the portal and followed me.

I flew as fast as my wings could carry me to the apartment building my mom lived in but screeched to a halt when I saw the windows boarded up, ivy growing up the sides of the walls. I checked the street name. 2703 Glengent avenue. Right address, right zip code. I looked down on the sidewalk and saw my mother walking away from the house with a cart with all her belongings.

"Mom! Mom, it's me, Coca!"

She looked up.

"Cocoa? My darling? Is that you?"

I nodded.

She unfolded her large wings and flew up to join me.
