Chapters "Attention class today I have a special announcement," Mrs. Cheerilee said. Getting everypony's attention "we have a new student joining us today, all the way form Canterlot," she said gesturing to the door for the new colt to enter. In walked a large black colt, bigger than most in the class, his body covered in red marks that looked like scares, one on his face was a cross of the red marks, his main was black, long and unkempt his cutie mark was a blue shield with a red cross on it and a dagger behind the shield.
"Hi, My name is Battle Born and like the teacher said I'm a unicorn from Canterlot," He said.
"If your a unicorn then ware is you horn?" asked a pink unicorn with a purple and white main, her cutie mark a tiara.
Battle Born raised a hoof to his main and pulled his hair back reveling a broken stump ware his horn would be. "Right here bitch," the class went quiet except for a few giggles from some of the students.
"Why don't we try this again tomorrow Battle, go home and remember never to use that language in my class again,"
"O come on Mrs. Cheerilee I'm sure that is a touchy subject for the guy, let him stay," said a white unicorn with purple and pink, slightly curled hair
"Ya'll now Scootaloo has said worse once or twice to you," added a yellow pony with red hair and a small pink bow in it, as she pointed at an orange pegasus with purple hair, Scootaloo.
"You do have a point Apple Bloom," Scootaloo responded, slightly annoyed by her reminding Cheerilee about Scootaloo telling her to buck off one day.
That must be one of the most beautiful creatures I have ever seen Battle Born thought to himself about the pegasus as he turned to walk out of the room. "Thanks but I understated, before I leave could you point me to the library in this town."
"Still want to study? OK, Its the giant crystal castle in the middle of town hard to miss." Cheerilee said
"OOOOOKKKKKKK," He said as he walked off

This is the first chapter of first fan fic I ever wrote so let me know how I'm doing and I will do more.
The library
After Battle Born left the school house he dissident to trade learning math and history, to learning battle tactics and how to kill anything that wasn't a pony. Ever since he got his cutie mark school seemed to by the least important thing to him, on his way to the library he couldn't help but think about that day. The day he got his cutie mark and lost his horn.
He remembered every gory detail of that day. It was almost six years ago.
"A true warrior never lets him self get knocked down, or he dose not eat!" His father yelled that day after knocking Battle to the ground for the third time that day. His father a noble crimson unicorn his cutie mark being a large blue shield, he had a long history of protecting Canterlot with his strength and to a lesser extent his magic, in fact his dad's entire family had a long history of defending Equestria from all sorts of danger, two of his uncles were killed during the changeling invasion.
"Perhaps a pony warrior doesn't but a zebra warrior always eats when his mother tells him to," said Battle's mother said, she was a truly rare sight in Equestria a zebra one of only two to make permanent reasidence in this land. His father tough him how to fight, his mother would always bandage him up after wards his father never taking it easy on him. His younger sister Kind Soul laughed she was barley out of diapers and recently learned to talk the little filly looked more like there mother with the black and white stripes at first glance most people thought that they were just friends instead of family. Him and his family were having a picnic in the Canterlot park.
When something was attacked it looked like an amalgamate of several different creatures, it had brown hair covering its serpent like body, the head of a pony, two different horns one a buffalo the other a ram's, one tooth, goats's feet, a bat's wing, a changeling's wing, a lion's claw and a falcon's claw for arms , but the eyes are the on thing that battle would never forget pitch black with crimson pupils. It rose from the ground a picked up Battles mother and ripped her in half. The blood splattering on Kind Soul has she cried, Battle's father ran and picked up his daughter.
Battle just stood their staring at the creature in shock. His face got hot, he felt an uncontrollable rage welling up inside him. He charged at the monster stabbing him in the side with his horn and releasing a blast of magical energy, something his grandmother tough him to use as a last resort for when he gets crowded on the battle field, because it was such an unpredictable spell, it could have very well killed him. But instead it blasted a hole in the side of the monster. It let out a scream, as it dropped Battle's mothers corps and picked him up
Lifting Battle up to his face the creature spoke in a deep demonic voice, "You dare attack the spirit of death and destruction! I'm not going to kill you, for three reasons one being you have potential, two I like that in a colt, and three you just got your cutie mark and I want to see ware that takes you," The creature lifted his other hand to his head and warped it around his horn, "But I still have to punish you," He said snapping his horn off, " I'm also going to keep this," That was the last thing he herd before he passed out for almost two months.
"Hey kid, are you alright?" asked a tall purple alicorn with a highlight in her hair. Her question snapping Battle out of his memory making him relies he was crying.
"Ya, I'm fine sorry just remembering a sad book I read," he said wiping away his tears. "I know you must think I'm a coward crying at a book."
"Not at all, I've done it a few times myself, I'm Twilight Sparkle ponyville librarian,"
"O well that's convenient, I'm actually on my way their, my name's Battle Born"
"Well you made it come on in, I'm just changing the sign so everypony else knows," Twilight said as she turned the sign from closed to open "is their anything in particular you were looking for?"
"Something on Equestrian monsters or...." he trailed off releasing that he was about to ask about book to help ask out girls, sincs he left the school house he could stop thinking about the orange pegasus.
"Or what?" she asked
"A book on zebra cultural," he made an excuse for the first subject that came to mind.
"Why zebras if you don't mind me asking?"
"My mom was a zebra,"
"Really, Id love to meet her we actually don't have any books on zebras, trust me I've looked, I'd like to meet you mom someday,"
"She's dead, sorry,"
"O no no no no, don't be I am so sorry for you lost," she said warping her hooves around him. "If you don't mind me asking what happened?"
"I don't like talking it, to many bad memories of that day,"
"Well that's fine if you need any thing let me know, now fallow me to the mythical section," she took him to another part of the library, and pulled out a bestiary on different mythical creatures it was an old thick book heavy enuf for both the princess and him to half to pic it up and carry it to the table, "now I'm going to half to ask you to be specially careful with this book because it is rare and written by, Celestia, Luna, and Starswirl the bearded so it also makes it one of the oldest books in her,"
"Thank you," He said opening the book. After a few hours of reading about manticore, hydra, cockatrice, and breezies he got to a page on chimera nothing he didn't read before but this time there was a note in the margins that said there was a sub-species of chimera called draconquus and a full section of them can be found on page 1,001. He turned to the page to see that it was gone ripped out. He quickly started to look for the princess. Instead he found a teenage dragon
"Excuse me, but have you seen Twilight Sparkle any ware?" He asked the dragon
"Ya, she went to Sweet Apple Acres to visit her friend Applejack," said the dragon, " you must be Battle Born I'm Spike," he extended his arm for a hoof shake. "What do you need?"
"One of the pages in that old bestiary is ripped out, I thought she should know,"
"You are absolutely right, could you go tell her I have to stay here and watch the library, school let out so the adults should not give you to much trouble,"
"Shit is it really that late, I gotta pick my sister up and take her home after that ya I'll got and tell her,"
"No problem just hurry,"
Running back to toward the school house to pick up his sister Battle was thinking of excuses to tell both his sister Kind soul and there father Warthorn. He could say he was busy helping a princess, but since they weren't in Canterlot any more and the only princess in town hardly left the library he didn't think ether would believe that, or maybe he could make up an excuse abut the teacher asking him to get some stuff for...... Battle thoughts were inter upped by something he hated to hear his younger sister crying.
There were three little ponies standing in front of Kind Soul. She was crying and trying to run but every time she would move one of the bullies would get in her way. Her normally beautiful emerald eyes now had tears running from them, her mane normally well groomed was covered in dirt, it looked like somepony pushed her down, her white stripes were also covered in mud. This wast the first time that she got teased for being a zebra, it happened twice in Canterlot and Battle put an end to that quick, this time he would make it quicker.
"Why don't you just run and stay in the woods with that other zebra freak," said a young dark blue earth pony colt with a light blue mane.
"Ya," said a little pink unicorn filly with a yellow mane.
"Ware do you think your going, obviously no one is coming to get you, and if they did they don't want you," said a purple unicorn filly with a light green and violet mane.
"Ya" repeated the pink one, Battle came to the conclusion that she was not the sharpest tool in the shed. Kind Soul looked upon to see a black and read figure standing behind her tormentors.
"Please, stop before you get yourselves hurt," Kind Soul pleaded.
"OH, are you threatening us?" said the colt.
"She isn't, but that's just because she is to nice," Battle spoke up and made all of the young ponies jump," me on the other hoof, I have no trouble teaching bratty little earth ponies and unicorn fillies how to fly.
"Hello sir, we were just "
"Bullying my little sister, for the last time," Battle got down to the kids' level, giving them a mecasing look.
"Yes sir," They said in unison and ran off.
"BATTY! You didn't need to be mean to them," Kind soul yelled.
"Sorry,"
"LIE, I'm not talking to you, lets go home," she said as he put up he nose and tried to walk off in a huff looking angry. Battle couldn't help but laugh at his sister covered in dirt trying to look tough and mad. But Battle knew what it would take to get his sister to talk, he figured that since he had some money and already planed to take his sister their after school.
"You want a cupcake?" Battle asked "Is that what it'll take for you to talk to me?"
"If you get me two I wont tell daddy you were late," She said.
"Deal," Battle said. The two of them walked to through ponyville looking for a place to by sweets and they found a building that looked like a giant gingerbread house with a sign out front that said Sugar Cube Corner . The two of them entered to building to see tables full of ponies young and old, but most look to be Battle Born's age. Has the two approached to counter there were two ponies behind the counter, one was a pink earth pony with puffy hair and it looked like she was having trouble staying still, the other was there father Warthorn in a paper hat and an apron.
"What are you two doing here? Why is my daughter covered in dirt? Are you getting bullied again? Did Battle handle it, how much are the doctor bills for the bullies" Warthorn asked one after another, both kids were used to it and answered.
"Getting Kind Soul some cupcakes, yes to the next three and I just scared them no doctor bills yet, I'm glad you found a job already," Battle answered. He knew his dad was looking for one and if he didn't find one so would he, and not many places would hire him because of his deformation.
"Warthorn, your asking the wrong questions, and do you know these pony's, oh one of them is a zebra I know a zebra she lives in the forest," said the pink pony next to him.
"Sorry," Warthorn said "this is my daughter Kind Soul she has quiet the sweet tooth, and the bigger one is my son Battle Born, unfortunately he is mine to," he said with a smile on his face "and this kids is the most hyper pony you will ever meet, Pinkie Pie,"
"That is a title that I gladly hold, what kinda cupcake would you like and if this little zebra has a sweet tooth then I recommend the Supper sugar Pinkie Pie special,"
"And how much is that,"
"On the house both of them," the Pink pony said. Kind looked up at the pink pony with sparkles in her eyes.
"Thank you miss," Kind soul said. The pony diapered into the kitchen for all of a minuet before returning with two pink frosted cupcakes on a serving tray.
"Here you go," she said giving it to Battle.
"Lets find a seat," Battle said as he looked around for an empty table, but the place was packed there was no empty tables in sight.
"Hey, why don't you two come and sit by us," said a voice from behind them, it was the three fillies that tried to convince the teacher to let him stay in class earlier today. Battle's heart skipped a beat when he saw the orange pegasus.
"I do.." Battle couldn't finish his statement before his sister was siting by the three ponies.
"Hi again, I don't think we've been properly introduced, I'm Sweetie Belle" said the white unicorn.
"Howdy y'all, I'm Apple Bloom," said the earth pony
"I'm Scootaloo," said the pegasus, she sounded kind of sad.
"I'm Kind Soul, You seem sad Mrs. Scootaloo,"
"Sorry, she just found out her coltfriend was cheating on her," Apple Bloom said.
"I told her not to go out with a degenerate like Snails" Sweetie Bell said.
"I know what will cheer you up," Kind Soul said
"Whats that?" Scootaloo asked. Kind Soul walked over to her and gave her a hug.
"Hugs always help me when I'm sad, now Battle got beat up this guy and win the girl,"
"Wait what," Battle said returning to earth as he herd his name, he was lost in Scootaloo's eyes.
"Go find this Snails guy and make him regret hurting our new friend's feelings, to show her that you love her," Battle and Scootaloo's faces turned red. Scootaloo wale Apple Bloom and Sweetie Bell fell out of there chairs laughing.
"What?" Kind Soul said didn't anypony else see how the looked at each other when we sat down.
"Uh.....I..... gotta princess page apple book farm bye." Battle ran out of the building to look for the farm.
"What?" Apple Bloom said.
"Hey, Kind Soul who are your friends and ware is your brother?"
"This is Apple Bloom, Sweetie Bell, and Scootaloo and Battle ran off he said something about a farm,"
Warthorn let out a long breath "Can one of you girls watch my daughter and another one find my son. I'm only on break so I cant leave yet."
"Ya I'll take her to my sister's and get her cleaned up," Sweetie Bell said, "If that's ok with you,"
"Can we have do make overs?"
"Absolutely,"
"Ware are you going to be?" Warthorn asked
"At the carousel butique her in town ask anypony they'll point it out to ya,"
"I'll show ya after work," Pinkie Pie yelled.
"Thanks Pinkie,"
"Have fun Kind,"
"I think I know ware Battle Born went, come on moper lets you find your price charming," Apple Bloom said
"So its ether that or make overs? Lets got Apple Bloom," said Scootaloo "Ware are we going,"
"He said somethin about apples so I'm assuming that he is at the farm,"
"Ok," Scootaloo said geting up. The four ponies split up the unicorn and the zebra going to look give each other make overs and the pegasus and earth pony going to find a babaling love struck hornless unicorn
Battle Born ran for a long time before he stopped to catch his breath and gather his thoughts. I have no time for a relationship I have to find and kill that thing. he reminded himself But first I gotta find out how, and actually first I gotta find Princess Twilight and tell her about the missing page
"Hey, Mrs.Cheerilee right?" Battle said running up to his teacher who was walking with a large red colt.
"Oh Battle Born hello," she said
"I'm sorry about earlier today,"
"That's ok I understand, new town, new people, and like Sweetie Bell said that's probably a difficult subject,"
"Is this your husband?"
"Nnope, were just friends youngin," said the large colt "I'm Big Mcintosh,"
"Nice to meet ya, I'm Battle Born,"
"So were you able to find the library," Cheerilee asked
"Ya, I'm actually looking for some place called Sweet Apple Acres, have ether of you heard of it?"
"Eeyup, I live and work their tell ya what if you help me fix some pipes in the school I'll take ya their," Big mac said.
"And I wont tell your dad about today," Cheerilee added.
"Ok," Battle said getting slightly bothered by the different distractions he kept running into just to tell someone about a page in a book. The three of them were on there way to the school house it was in sight before Battle saw something that he recognized. It looked like the thing that took his mother away from him, his sister, and his father. It was walking behind a yellow pegasus. Before Battle knew what he was doing he was charging and yelling at the monster.
"I'll kill you son of a bitch," The sudden burst of anger surprised everyone involved. He hit the monster broad side and staggered it. The next thing Battle knew he was warped in a sticky pink substance that smelled oddly of cotton candy. Against his better judgment he took a bit and realized that it was cotton candy.
"Who are you and why in Equestria do you want to kill me, I mean yes I've tried to take over the world and spread chaos, but that was the old me I've changed and reformed," The beast said
"You killed my mother!"
"What Discord would never do something so cruel to anypony," said the yellow pegasus. Discord picked Battle up to his face and Battle saw that his eyes were yellow and red after that Battle began to take note of other differences like the horns and the wings.
"What are you?" Battle asked
"Me I'm just an innocent prankster and draconequus, my name is Discord,"
"I'm sorry, I thought you were someone else,"
"You thought I was Disaster, the only draconequus that will kill,"
"Seeing as we are on the topic, how do I find and or kill Disaster?"
"I thought you were going to ask me to stop doing this to you,"
"Doing what?" It was then that Battle realized that he was now a cat, then a dog, then a timberwolf, and for a short time a fish.
"Discord please stop doing that to him," said the pegasus.
"But Fluttershy,"
"Discord," she said with a stern voice.
"Fine, but I'm not telling him how to stop one of my kind," He crossed his arms and teleported away.
"I gotta go sorry," Battle ran off toward the school house.
"Ware'd ya go?" Big Mac asked
"Thought I saw somepony I recognized,"
"Who?"
"I'd rather not to talk about it,"
"Ifin you need anypony to talk to colt to colt let me know, I lost my mother too,"
"How do you know about that?"
"Lets get to work," The pipe problem at the school turned out to be somepony actually unscrewed one of them. They managed to get it fixed pretty quick seeing as the pipe was no more then three feet away.
"Why would anypony do something so useless, I mean I'd get it if they stole the pipe but seriously do you have any ideas?" Battle asked as they walked toward Sweet Apple Acres.
"Nnope,"
"You don't talk much do ya?"
"Nnope,"
"Do you need any help on the farm?"
"Any time you feel like it come on up," after that the two of them walked in silence for a bit before Battle asked something he had to ask
"How did you know?"
"About your mother? Its all in the way you move and treat other ponies around you, see Cheeirlee told me about what happened in class today I heard that and wanted to talk to ya," Big Mac continued, "You seem to be full of rage and want to take it out on anypony for any reason, I know I've been their, ask anypony in town they don't like talking about what I was like, Apple Bloom was too young to remember and Applejack don't like to, and nether do I," Big Mac looked away and wiped what looked like a teir out of his eye. "but you half to remember whatever happened wasn't your fult,"
"Thank you, nopony has ever taken the time to try to explain that to me,"
"Shur any time anything else you want to talk about,"
"You ever fall in love with a girl at first sight,"
"Really you just moved here how could you be sayin that about anypony, and who?" he asked as he opened the door to his home. Everypony was siting in the family room talking when Apple Bloom saw them
"Hey, Scootaloo look its your prince charming," Apple Bloom said.
"What?" Applejack asked, "I thought ya'll was dating that Snips boy?"
"He me for that bitch Silver Spoon," Scootaloo said. "And according to Battle Born here's sister me and him are in love with each outer,"
"That's addorable," Twilight said.
"I need to tell you something, Twilight" Battle said.
"What?"
"In that old bestiary I was reading their was a page on draconequus missing,"
"Ok, thank you Battle," He turned to leave.
"Ware in the wide world of Equestria do you think your going?" Apple Bloom asked.
"Home, why?" He asked
"Why don't you walk Scootaloo home seeing as its getting late, and ah'm shur both of ya'lls parents want you two home,"Applejack said.
"If you don't mind, Scootaloo," Battle said. His heart beating a million miles a minute at the thought of being alone with her. Little did he know that her's was doing the same thing.
"Shur, But no funny busyness till you mule kick Snips in the head," she said.
"Same for you, lets go," They all shared a laugh, Scootaloo and Battle Born said there goodbyes. They started walking back toward town.
"So ware do ya live?" Battle asked.
"I'm staying with Rainbow Dash, my parents kicked me out for talking back,"
"That tough,"
"Yep,"
"Not to mention her mom's a raging bitch," said a voice from behind them. They turned to see two ponies standing their one was a gray pony that battle assumed was Silver Spoon from her cutie mark and the other a big opai colt with a pair of sissors has a cutie mark that must me Scootaloo's ex.
"Why don't you just leave me alown,"
"Ya, forgot your a rag..." Battle was in his face in a matter of seconds.
"You finish that sentence you'll dentist will love me,"
"O ya, you really want to fight me,"
"After school middle of town or right now, your choice,"
"Well I don't know," he said turning his back to walk away "How about right n..." he attempted to sucker punch Battle but was stopped by Battle smashing his head against Snips's knocking him out.
"Lets get you home now Scootaloo," as the two walked away out of ear shot Scootaloo turned to Battle and kissed him on the check.
"Thank you, we're here," she said pointing up to a cloud house with rainbows every ware. "I was wondering, if you would like to go on a date with me some time?" she asked nevusly. It was the first time she asked a colt out and the first time Battle got asked out. He didn't date well at all really.
"Ya, I'd love to, how a bout this weekend?"
"OK," She said as she flew up toward her friend's place and he ran off toward his home. Both of them had the same thought Why dose it have to only be monday.

When Battle Born got home the door was locked and he didn't have a key. He figured that his dad and sister would be home by now so he knocked. The door open so he could see his little sister, her mane was now decorated with gold and silver colored beads, and she now had black eyeliner on.
"What happened to you?" Battle asked as he walked into their new home.
"Well after you ran off from watching your sister," their father said from the kitchen. "one of the nice girls you were sitting with took her to the Carousel Boutique to play for a bit, and now,"
"Now what daddy?" Kind Soul spoke up.
"Battle her gets punished," Warthorn began. Battle's face went white knowing that that meant he might not get any sleep for what his father had in store for him. "unpack everything that we own, no breaks, no personal time, no sleep till your done."
"I have planes for this weekend," Battle argued.
"Better get to work then," Warthorn said.
The next day Battle was walking his sister to school. But it looked more like she was trying to make sure he got to school and didn't pass out in the street. He was both physically and mentally drained from last night running in and out and trying to figure out how to put the furniture in the house with no help.
"Well here we are Kinddy have a good day," He said walking toward the road.
"Battle the school house is over here," said a familiar voice form behind. It was Scootaloo and the others.
"Heyyyy Scootscoot,"
"Ah thought ya'lls date wasnt till this weekend didn't realize youd be usin pet names already," Apple Bloom said with a laught,
"Kind what is the problem with your brother?" Sweetie Bell asked.
"Battle are you drunk?" Scootaloo asked.
"No just really tired, because of yesterday daddy is making him unpack and move every thing into ower now house, no sleep, no breaks, no personal time until he is done," Kind Soul said
"Kind Soul isnt your class starting?"
"Oh ya, I gotta go by girls," she said as she ran to not be late.
"Lets go to girls," Sweetie Bell said. "and lets make shure that ower tiered friend makes it thru today," The four ponies walked to there class. The second the Battle sat down he fell asleep.
"Hey asshole wake up," said a male voice Battle recognized it to belong to Snips. When battle opened his eyes he saw that the class room was empty except for him and two other unicorns from his class.
"Your Snips right and your friend here is Snails?" Battle asked to tired to want to fight.
"Shut up," Snips said slapping him. Accomplishing waking and pissing off Battle at the same time. "You need to be taught a lesson for knocking me out ye....." That is all he got out before Battle gave him another headbutt knocking him out agin. Battle looked at the orange unicorn.
"Take your friend and leave or I can knock you on your flank to," Battle asked "but before ether of that what time is it,"
"Like he said everypony is at lunch,"
"Thanks, not a word to anypony or you take a forced nap to," Battle said. Snails nodded his head and put Snips in his desk so it looked like he fell asleep.
Battle went to the cafeteria and found the his friends.
"The four of us were talking," Apple Bloom begain
"Four?" Battle asked
"Ya my brother was here earlier to drop of my lunch I told him what was going on with your punishment, and we are going to help you after school,"
"I cant ask you to do that for me,"
"Well Batty you didn't," Scootaloo said
"Can we wait till after this weekend to use pet names?"
"Don't you remember this morning?"
"Nope," Battle said. The girls told him about his giving Scootaloo a pet name. After lunch the day was uneventful. He and his friends picked up his sister.
"Big Mac said he would meet us at your place," Apple Bloom said,
"But Batty you have to do it alone, daddy said no breaks, no sleep, no personal time," Kind Soul said
"He didn't say anything about help," Battle said.
"Yay you saw threw the trick,"
"What trick?"
"Me and daddy made a bet to see if you could get help or not and I won, now I get more cupcakes today," Kind Soul said as she skipped the rest of the way home. They made it to Battle's house and managed to get every thing moved. When Big Mac Showed up he was able to help with the heavier things.
"Thanks everypony," Battle said
"Well we couldn't let you be working all week and not be ready for you date this weekend," Sweeti Bell said.
"Eeyup," The two Apple siblings said.
