The Trotting Dead

"Run,.. Run,.. Run,.. Run,.. RUN,. RUN!" Twilight thought as she Looked behind her self at her friends, she was infront. Whilst Panting, she thought back on how they got into their situation.

They had Just been Inside a Cafe when they heard the mare who was tending the counter scream. The only pony who saw why the scream happened was Pinkie Pie, who had been looking in the right place at the right time. The Five other ponies and Dragon were confused when they saw their friend's eye's Widen and her mane straiten. They looked behind them and as what was happening registered in their minds, their eye's widened too.

What Was behind them was, indeed, shocking enough for anyponies mane to straiten. It was a horrific display. Have You ever witnessed a pony ripping another ponies flesh off with it's teeth? You wouldn't think that could ever happen since ponies are plant eaters would you?  This is what all of the poor ponies in the cafe, including the seven friends saw.

"What? What is he,.. doing?" Pinkie Pie said in a quiet voice her friends had never heard from her."Why , would anypony, ever,...." Pinkie trailed of as she put her hoof to her mouth. She tried as hard as she could to contain her meal, but she couldn't and ended up vomiting on the floor of the cafe.

The Mare Was still screaming, but no pony helped in any way. Twilight's eyes moved around the room rapidly, trying to find something to hit the pony with, just to get him away from the poor screaming Mare. Her eyes stopped as she spotted a tray, she figured she could hit the Stallion with it to at least stop him for a moment or two. She attempted to lift the tray with her magic, but nothing happened. She tried again , but failed. Why isn't it working?!" She shouted in her head.

"Twilight!" AppleJack Finally Got out of her mouth after minutes of trying."Hit him with a magic blast or somethin'!" She Shouted. Twilight looked at her with dismay.

"I'm trying! Somethings wrong!" She Shouted back at her Orange friend. AppleJack looked frightened, but then calmed herself.

"Rarity! Try and picked up that chair, Now!" She Demanded.

"Uh- Okay!" Rarity Squealed, only just regaining her senses. She Attempted to levitate the chair but, just as Twilight, failed. She tried again, failed. Tried again, failed. Tried many more times and, failed.

"I, I don't understand, I mean I-" Spike Interrupted."Whats gonna happen?! Is that pony going to hurt us too?! How Do we get away?! I don't wanna D-" ."Spike! Shut it!" Rainbow Dash Interrupted also. He then Went Quiet, a few tears falling from his eye's.

Pretty soon, the Mare had suffered from blood loss too long, and she fell onto the ground. The Stallion didn't care, and he just fell down with her ."Noooooooo!" Fluttershy Screamed from the top of her lungs, Her friends shocked, because , just like they hadn't from Pinkie, they had never heard her scream so loud before, But of course with Pinkie it was the Exact opposite. Even When She had tried to yell loudly or even when she tried to yell in general, she only got out a soft squeak. "Stop It, Stop It, Stop iiit! I can't take, I can't take it please, please,.. Make it stop!"

"Fl-Fluttershy.." Twilight Said Tears coming from her eyes. Pinkie Pie , Fluttershy and spike were no longer the ones crying , Rarity, Twilight and even Rainbow Dash and AppleJack started crying too. But what pony wouldn't after witnessing this event? The only reason the others didn't cry instantly , was because they were trying to stay strong for each other, but the tears slipped out anyway. Since The Mare Fell behind the counter, They were no Longer able to see the gut-wrenching scene.

But still everypony in the Cafe was afraid to move.

"ahhhh,..." There was a sound coming from the counter, it sounded like the mare."ahhh,..." Another sound. "What is that?" Pinkie Pie Asked. They all waited, waited to see the noise and the mare it was coming from."Is she okay?" Spike Said Looking slightly happy. "ahh,..." It happened once more before they saw the mare.

In a moment , the mare and stallion came out from the counter, they trotted out towards all of the ponies, A bunch of then screamed, which caused  the mare and the stallion to jump onto them , one by one. "Twilight!" Rainbow Screamed. Twilight just sat there in shock, not responding in any way whatsoever. Rainbow Pulled her out of her seat as a pony was about to bite her. She had been sitting there for three minutes, absolutely still, but because of rainbow, she was brought out of her trance.

Twilight glanced around , seeing everypony in the cafe had been turned into those things, while her and her friends were safe. She couldn't help but feel like the worst pony in the world for not helping the mare when it all started. Rainbow Dash had saved her, But she didn't do a thing to help anypony.

Now that they had left the Cafe They saw that the streets were hell too. There were Undead Ponies all around, killing other ponies and turning them into what they were. It was the worst thing they had ever seen.

She had stopped thinking back, and started thinking in the moment. There were a bunch of the Undead Trotting around the city of Manehatten. "Why did we have to come here today?" Twilight thought. "Why did this have to happen?!" She said it out loud this time, tears coming from her eye's again.

They kept on running and running, and the hole time Pinkie Pie was mumbling. She just kept repeating the same thing over and over again. "No pony helped, we could of Helped, Nopony helped, we could have helped,..." Rainbow Dash had had enough of running and attempted to fly above the ground Instead, but, Her wings didn't open she fell flat on her face. This made her tumble, and she nearly got left behind.It was like it snapped Pinkie Pie out of her loop, She Looked back at Rainbow Dash, and if not for Pinkie she would have been bitten by a horde of those things that were wandering after them.

Pinkie Pie reacted quickly, She stopped running and skidded on the dirt path. Once she had made her self stop, she had instantly ran to her Rainbow Maned friend. When She got to her she put her head under Rainbow's side and lifted her onto her back. It was hard hard for Pinkie to catch up to the others, but it wasn't Impossible. She dogged passed a bunch of the undead, but still kept her eyes on her other friends.

"Rainbow." She said. "Yeah?" Rainbow Said Back."What in the name of Celestia happened back there? You nearly got yourself killed!" Pinkie Pie Shouted at her Friend."I don't Kn-" "Get off my back!" Pinkie Interrupted. "What?" 'Get off my back! Your Weighing me down and I can't run! You are capable of running, so get off!" She Yelled angrily.

"Okay Okay Okay! I'm getting off!" She Yelled Back Annoyed. Rainbow Dash Jumped off in front off Pinkie, Knowing that she wouldn't be able to catch up to her if she went behind. Rainbow Dash Was Good at running, but not for a long period of time. She would get easily exhausted and would tire out quicker then an Earth pony or Unicorn.

She did Manage to keep herself close enough to her friends, but she was close to trailing Fluttershy who had spike on her Back. Pinkie Pie had

caught up to Twilight and was running beside her. "Twilight. Were are we running too?" Pinkie Asked. Twilight was still Panting, she wasn't a fast runner usually, but she was ahead of all her friends. She was fueled by shock fear sadness , and a little bit of anger directed at herself.

"I guess I haven't thought that far ahead, I was just telling Myself to run." Twilight Told Pinkie."Well then,.. We should Go back to the hotel room and then go from there huh?" Pinkie asked. Twilight Nodded in agreement.

They Ran more and more, Until they reached the outside of the hotel they were staying at. Its doors were covered in blood and and Flesh, and there appeared to be several dead ponies outside the entrance. Twilight lifted her hoof to trot passed the Several Dead pony bodies, but  instead of Trotting, she threw up on the spot."Twilight, Are you gonna' be okay?" Asked AppleJack who came over to help her balance. "I'm Fine AJ, Don't worry about me. Lets just get inside and figure things out from there. " She said Beginning to trot on again

As they Trotted inside the hotel, The only thing they could make out was blood, flesh, sinews , and organs. The blood was covering the entire floor in the lobby of the hotel, and the organs hung from random objects like party decorations, intestines, stomachs, Heart and everything. The flesh was scattered everywhere, including on the organs them selves. They Couldn't step anywhere without getting their hooves completely drenched in blood. And It seemed that Pinkie Pie's mane only got straighter and straighter as time went on, if that was even possible.

Fluttershy wasn't even there anymore, she was in absolute shock and her only action was following her friends."What do we,.. Call "Them"?" Rarity asked. "I haven't the slightest clue Rarity, I mean what would ya call something when you don't even know what it is?" Apple Jack Said. "Trotters,.." Fluttershy said Quietly "What?" Rarity Said. She didn't get and Answer though, she went strait back to seeming like a harmless version of those "Trotters" .

"Trotters it is then, I guess,.." Apple Jack said.

They had finally reached an elevator, and were about to go into it, but they stopped at the entrance. A trotter was standing directly in front of them. It reached out towards Fluttershy surprisingly fast, and it was about to sink its teeth through her neck, but suddenly a hoof came down on him, braking a part of its head and nearly killing him. This hoof belonged to, Fluttershy.

Her friends stood there in shock awe and horror as they watched their friend kicking flank. She had repeatedly hit the trotter on the head, over and over until it caved in. And as soon as it did, it collapsed onto the elevator floor, keeping the door open as it tried to close. "Get in." Fluttershy said panting. Her friends looked at her and then looked at the trotter and then looked back at her. How could a fragile Pegasus like her, do that?

They waited in the Elevator silently for about three minutes, Still trying to take in what their sweet and quiet friend just did. But when they got to their floor, they shivered as the door opened. There was a filly, a poor little filly, being torn apart by three trotters, Her Organs scattered on the floor, The worst part was that she was still alive. She Struggled to reach out a hoof at the Seven of them. But they just watched in horror, knowing too well that even if she didn't turn, they wouldn't be able to save her.

The Trotters turned to look at the Six ponies and Dragon, And they stumbled towards them. Fluttershy Didn't flinch , and she didn't even blink. But she still managed to kill the trotters easily, She Smashed each of there heads one by one. The first She smashed against the wall, the second she smashed with her hoof and the third, Oh the third. She tripped the Trotter over making it fall onto the floor and she stomped her right fore hoof into the Trotter's head, killing it it one gory blow.

She then Walked towards the filly, and but a hoof on her's. She Smiled at her and said,"You don't have to suffer anymore." The Filly smiled back and her eye's closed slowly. In a minute or two, the filly rose up again, and a tear fell from Fluttershy's eye. "I'm sorry, But I have to do this." She Said to The reanimated corpse infront of her. And Without hesitation, she smashed the fillies skull, Blood spraying everywhere.

"Lets go." The Yellow and dark murky red Pegasus said.

Her Friends had been crying as they watched the scene play out, And Now their friend was just Emotionless again? Had She gone Completely insane? Would She always be like this? They Didn't know, but they  followed her down the hallway anyway, and walked towards their door. It had Pictures on it and little notes saying, "We Will be back soon! We are just bein' awesome!" and "Thank you for stopping by, but We are away at the moment, we will be back soon though. Thank you." and the last one. "Hey! I bet you have some lovely smiles for us, but we are out right now bringing more smiles! We hope we somehow run into you or something. But We will see you really really really really soon!" The Notes were left by Rainbow Dash Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie.

Twilight looked at the notes with sadness in her eyes as she waited for her emotionless friend to unlock the door. Once Fluttershy had finished with the door, all seven of them busted in. "Lets just,.. Lets Just,.. grab everything and head to the train station." Rarity said With her head down. "Bad Plan." Said Pinkie. "Yep." Fluttershy agreed.

"And how is it a bad plan?" Rarity asked With tears in her eyes, getting a little Annoyed. "Think about it." Fluttershy said. "Think about what exactly?" Rarity asked. "If we went there, how do you even know the trains are still running or not? You do recall what we saw out there right?" Pinkie said."Of course I do! But I need to get back to Ponyville To see my family! I need to know that their alright, and I shall not let those Trotters Stop me!"Rarity Yelled.

"I agree with ya, I need to get back to my family too, I have a real bad feelin', and I know They need My help." AppleJack Said agreeing with her Unicorn friend."We need to figure out a plan. We need to figure out were we are going to go, and why. This isn't a good situation, and I don't think we will last if we stay here. All we know is that Ponies are dying, and being brought back somehow." Spike said Surprising everypony. No one was acting the same anymore

"I agree with you Spike, But, I think we should all get some rest. I know that it is horrifying listening to the groans of those, Trotters, and I know what we just witnessed was shocking, But we all really need some rest. We can barricade the door with all the furniture, and we can lock it from the inside. We can get rest right here." Twilight announced. "That seems like a good idea sugar Cube. It's gettin' real Dark out there, And I am really worn out." Apple Jack Agreed. "All In favor say Yay." Spike said. "Yay." Everypony but Fluttershy said. Fluttershy Walked over. "Yay." She Said.
