Her eyes were glazed with tears, blurring everything around her, but she did not cry. Not one drop. She ignored the fire-ponies rushing past her and covering the house in water, she ignored the ambulance and police come ringing in. Nothing mattered but the house. She had heard the fading screams. She had seen the terrified faces. She had felt the fear. She only snapped out of her trance when she heard a voice "Miss? Miss, are you OK?" Evening Star turned to see a white mare looking down at her, clearly concerned. "Are you hurt sweetie?" She asked. "No..." "Oh, thank Celes-" "Where's mommy?" Evening butted in, her pleading eyes seeming to stare into the older mares soul. "I-well I...." The mare stopped and looked up to the burning house, fire still blaring. "Was she...oh, sweetie...I'm so sorry...you're the only pony who got out..." Evening simply looked back to the fire, not surprised at all. She was smart, she knew that they would've been out by now. But they weren't. And they were never going to be. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 Evening Star's eyes fluttered open as the first rays of sun flooded into the room. She bolted up. 'Wha-what..happened..? Wa-was it all just a...a..a d-dream....?' She thought. She scanned the room. The walls were blindingly white, reflecting the sun into her face, the bed she lay in was small, with a light-brown wooden frame and white covers. This wasn't her room. It almost looked like that of a hospital...was it? Her thoughts were cut off as a door squeaked open, a familiar mare stood on the other side.
