It was just after Nightmare Night, when Twilight Sparkle lied asleep in her bed. A loud thump-thumping echoed through her bedroom and then through to the rest of the library in a steady rhythm much like a heartbeat.
A ring of light surrounded Twilight in her sleep. Another glow began emanating from her chest like a distant star in the night sky, which suffused her body and finally engulfed the whole of Ponyville library.
In Canterlot castle, Princess Luna had landed on one of the many landing pads scattered about the castle. After having returned from Ponyville, she was greeted by her sister Princess Celestia.
As she trotted up towards her sister, a pain filled her chest, causing her to buckle and fall to her right hitting the ground.
“Luna!” Celestia called out as rushed to Luna’s side, but was halted and blinded by a flash of light that rivalled that of her sun. The light subsided and receded back into Princess Luna’s chest. Allowing Celestia to once again see her. Celestia rushed once more to her sister’s side.
“Luna! Are you okay!? Speak to me sister!” As Celestia called again, Luna’s body began tremble as she tried to stand only to falter. Celestia caught Luna just as she was about to fall again and leaned up against Luna’s side to support her.
Luna awoke with start, she felt an odd sensation emanating from her crotch. A decidedly weird sensation considering her lack of male genitalia. The only reason she knew what it was akin to was because of that one night over 1000 years ago in Trottingham when she had experimented with that one mare.
“Guard!!! Get my sister! We need to speak with her!”
It was morning just before dawn in Ponyville and the birds had begun their chirping song in their overzealous celebration of the day. Spike re-entered Twilight’s bedroom. “Morning Twilight!” Spike called as a groan came from Twilight’s bed.
“5 more minutes” Twilight answered.
“Hey looks like you’re pitching a tent again.” Spike quipped with a giggle as he walked past her bed.
Twilight bolted up in response.
“Spike! I have told you before to stop bringing it up! I mean come on I already told you years ago! I have had to deal with this my whole entire life! And I have to be doubly careful on my oestrus! Not only do mares in heat set me off, but I also have to deal with being in heat! While it is natural, it’s so awkward having to deal with it as almost all my friends are mares, some of which I find attractive and you keep on joking about my morning wood!” Twilight admonished.
“Look Twilight you’ve had that thing for your entire life and I have been there almost all your life, It’s my duty to tease you about your morning wood. Besides, you make it so easy to tease you.” He replied a smug smirk on his face.
“You understand that this means war.”
Spiked turned around to face Twilight his eyes closed briefly, when they opened his eyes shrunk to pin pricks.
“Twilight, I think you have more important issues then waking up with morning wood!” Spike said as he pointed behind Twilight.
Twilight groaned again and then looked behind herself at what Spike had pointed, at which point she noticed her two large wings splayed in what Pegasi refer to as ‘a wingboner’.
The seconds ticked away as Twilight’s brain processed this new information, panic slowly became evident on her face as she began to realise.
“What the hay! I don’t have wings, I didn’t have them last night! How did this happen!?” Twilight exclaimed as she twisted and turned to get a better look. Unsure whether they were real or not Twilight brought a hoof to her left wing and stroked it producing a tingling sensation that made her shiver down her spine.
“I don’t know Twilight. Maybe you could ask Princess Celestia” Spike replied shrugging. This of course hadn’t phased him, living with Twilight had been anything but normal and as such this was just another of those weird days that ever so frequently ensnared the unicorn mare.
Twilight shook her head to clear her mind.
“You’re right Spike!” Twilight beamed. As Twilight was about to get out of bed,
“Whoa there Twilight, you might want to take care of your morning wood before you get out of bed.”
Twilight looked down, only now reminded of her predicament. She quickly shuffled back into bed blushing a deep crimson color on her cheeks.
“I’ll just go downstairs and make some breakfast.” Spike said as he went down stairs.
Twilight was still blushing as she pulled out her new copy of Mares Mares Mares Monthly she had bought yesterday, featuring the forever beautiful Princess Luna. She really is, Twilight thought to herself. I wonder how many magazines I have just of her.
Princess Celestia had finally made her way to her sister’s room with guard in tow. She reached her double doors and pushed them open in a rush. Not even stopping to question why the lone Pegasi guard left behind was now blushing and had a wingboner.
Princess Celestia’s jaw hung open at what she saw. Luna was thrashing, writhing, moaning and groaning in the throes of an orgasm.
“Sister finally!!! Please help! I—aahh!” Luna called out.
“Luna! I am your sister. I will not help you with that!” Celestia exclaimed as she turned to leave.
“No—Not like that! Aah! Help me—stop it! I—ah! Help please!” Luna pleaded to Celestia
Celestia Turned back around with a smirk “Got a toy stuck up there again dear sister? I thought you had learnt your lesson the last time?” She said teasingly.
“No! It’s not that either!?” Luna cried in between moans.
“Then what!? A magic spell gone wrong!?” Celestia asked exasperated.
“I haven’t a clue dear sister! It’s just that I haven’t felt anything like this since that one night in Trottingham over a thousand years ago!”
“Well you don’t have one of them now do you?” Celestia pointed out.
To which her sister replied with a flat look “You don’t say?”
“Well if you don’t want my help, I’ll just leave.” Celestia said with a smirk as she went to leave.
“Wait! No don’t go! I’m sorry!” Luna called a hoof stretched out towards Celestia.
“Okay, let me ju—” Celestia was cut off as Luna’s moaning came to a crescendo. ”Twilight!” Luna called out in the Royal Canterlot Voice, Causing the guards and Celestia to wince.
“Well it looks like you don’t need my help anymore.” Celestia stated as a matter of fact as she rubbed her ears. “Wait? Did you just call out Twilight’s name?” A hint of amusement in her voice.
Blushing deeply Luna fell back on her bed panting and sweating. But she covered her face with her wings to hide her embarrassment.
Celestia laughed as she turned to leave “Oh Luna that is so adorable!” Celestia pulled open the doors and began to walk back out but pausing the humour gone from her voice “Oh and Luna if you touch my student, you’re going to take responsibility and there is a crossbow with your name on it.” Celestia said with a smile.
“Surely you jest sister? I would never just use or take advantage of Twilight and certainly I’d take responsibility! You needn’t have asked at all!” Luna puffed out her chest pouting in annoyance.
“Lulu, is there something you’re not telling me?”
Luna sputtered and flailed “No, no, no, dear sister!” Luna laughed nervously
Celestia levelled a flat look at Luna “Really? Because you’re hiding it so well. So tell me why you insist on using my student masturbation material.”
“It’s not like that! It’s just- I have a crush on her,” Luna mumbled
“I am sorry, I didn’t quite catch that.” Celestia leaned in to hear her sister better.
“I have a crush on Twilight.” Luna blush conquered her entire face and her ears as Celestia fell backwards and started rolling on the floor laughing her flank off.
“Oh Mother help me! That’s so cute!”
“Please sister, don’t make this anymore awkward than it already is!”
Celestia laughter finally ceasing after what felt like an agonising eternity, she rose to her hooves and smirked at Luna. “I get to officiate the wedding.” Celestia said in between giggles as she left
When Celestia had made it outside Luna’s door. She came upon the guard from before laid face down in a puddle of his own blood. As blood streamed from his nose, eyes and mouth. Note to self: soundproof Luna’s room.
Celestia turned to the surviving guard who was looking like he was about to collapse. She took out a parchment and quill from her peytrel and wrote a note stuck it on the surviving guard.
Celestia charged her horn and sent them to the castle infirmary.
Back at the library Twilight sighed with relief, as she re-hid her copy of Mares, Mares, Mares, Monthly. Twilight got up and started to clean up and prepare for the day. Twilight sighed again this time from a more upsetting reason. How did I become an alicorn?
After cleaning up and getting ready. Twilight trotted down the stairs of her library towards the kitchen, where she smelled the aroma of chocolate chip pancakes. As she sat at the table, Spike walked in with a couple of plates of pancakes and maple syrup.
As Spike finished serving the plates he took a seat next to Twilight at the table and they both began to eat. After breakfast was finished and Spike was done with washing up the plates and cutlery.
“Spike take a letter please.” Twilight requested.
Spike took out a parchment and quill at the ready. Just as Twilight was about to start she felt a need growing in her nethers and she popped another wing boner.
“Uegh, Twilight I thought you dealt with that thing, you’ve had that thing all your life and you still can’t control yourself?”
“Sorry Spike.” Twilight apologised blushing profusely. “It’s not something that permanently goes away.”
“Ahem anyway”
Dear princess Celestia,
I awoke this morning to find I had become an Alicorn, please hurry and reply.
I am scared and I need help.

“Okay?” she inquired to Spike who then nodded. “Then send it please Spike.”
In a burst of flames the scroll disappeared.
Luna entered the dining room, her face covered in a cherry red blush.
“How nice of you to join me for breakfast sister.” Celestia said as she smirked at Luna, who was keeping her face down looking at the floor unable to look Celestia in the eyes.
Luna just hurriedly sat down and began eating. Which earned a laugh from Celestia.
A scroll appeared in front of Celestia it was from Twilight sparkle.
Dear Princess Celestia,
I awoke this morning to find I had become an Alicorn, please hurry and reply.
I am scared and I need help.
Your faithful student,
Twilight Sparkle
After Celestia finished reading the scroll. The fork she had held in her magic fell to the ground with a loud clang. Her jaw would have fallen to the floor, had it not still been connected to her face.
“What is it dear sister?” Luna asked Celestia.
“Twilight Sparkle says she’s an Alicorn,” Celestia quietly responded.
“Surely you jest sister?” Luna responded in a tone of incredulousness.
Conjuring yet another parchment and quill Celestia quickly wrote a reply,
My most faithful student,
Please come to Canterlot Castle as quickly as you can, embark on the earliest train possible. Don’t worry about bringing anything, just get here as soon as equinely possible.

Princess Celestia
Celestia rolled up the scroll and sealed it. Then Celestia’s horn glowed brighter as she sent the scroll to Twilight.
A belch of fire signalled the reply of Princess Celestia.
Twilight turned to Spike.
Spike read aloud:
“My most faithful student,
Please come to Canterlot Castle as quickly as you can, embark on the earliest train possible. Don’t worry about bringing anything, just get here as soon as equinely possible.
Faithfully yours,
Princess Celestia”
Twilight began running about packing for her trip to Canterlot, a few dresses, quills and parchment, train timetable.
“Twilight, didn’t Celestia tell you not to pack?” Spike asked
“Yes Spike but I don’t know how long I’ll be there or what I’ll need to have on hoof. So I am packing lightly!” Twilight replied.
Spike face palmed “if you need me I’ll be in the bath.”
“Spike! You’re not allowed to take a 7 hour bubble bath! I asked the girls to keep an eye on you till I got back there are gems in the fridge they should last you a week, don’t eat them all at once.” Twilight called up to Spike. “Fine Twilight just go, I’ll be okay. The train is going to leave without you.”
Oh no it’s leaving soon! Saddle bags strapped on, Twilight turned to call up to Spike.
“Look after the library while I'm gone Spike and don’t eat all the ice cream.”
Twilight then closed her eyes as her horn begun glow as she charged her teleport spell that would take her to the train station and in a flash she was gone.
Twilight was now sitting inside the car reserved for the Elements of Harmony. She was halfway to Canterlot when another flash of light engulfed her. She cried out in pain as she felt her bones and muscles rearranging and changing.
She almost passed out, but the pain and glow subsided, as Twilight regained her senses. She looked in a window to see her reflection. Twilight was now taller, had a body almost completely like Luna’s. Her cutie mark had changed it now featured a crescent moon while her eyes and colors stayed the same. Twilight’s mane and tail now flowed on a non-existent wind, was now filled with stars and nebulae.
“Oh no! I hope I don’t change anymore. I barely recognise myself.” Twilight whispered to herself.
In Canterlot, Celestia and Luna had finished their breakfast and were now in the throne room. Celestia had the day court, while Luna was observing so that she could see how the day court functioned.
Celestia sat upon her throne and Luna upon a divan that was temporarily placed next to it, until Luna’s own throne room was built because the dais was too small for another full throne, and Court could not be halted so the weeks long construction, without serious ramifications to Equestria. Suddenly another flash of light enveloped Luna, receding to reveal that she now had an addition to her cutie mark that of Celestia’s student Twilight Sparkle.
Celestia and Luna gaped at the mark. Another flash as a new pony flashed into the Throne room, causing the guards present to tense up.
“The train was too slow! So I teleported the rest of the way! Please help me Princess Celestia.” Twilight pleaded. Then she noticed Princess Luna. “Oh no! Not you too Princess Luna!” Twilight exclaimed as she trotted forward and in a mirroring of Twilight’s movement Princess Luna trotted forward towards Twilight. In total sync every movement every hoof step the same.
As they came together they both started walking around each other to examine the changes, at one point Twilight pinched Luna with her magic. From outside it looked as if they were walking in single file line in circles. They both stopped and both blushed, sighed, they turned towards Celestia. “Well Sister, have you any ideas on what might have caused this?” Twilight and Luna said in complete sync.
“Caused what? Twilight’s Alicornhood? No I have no clue.”
“Oh right sorry,” Twilight said first.
“You don’t know do you?” Luna continued.
“Um Twilight, Sister are you feeling okay?” Celestia stated frowning as she watched what was happening in front of her.
“What do you mean, Sister?” Twilight asked
“Do you mean us being in sync or do you mean how I am an Alicorn now? I mean how Twilight is an Alicorn.” Luna asked.
“Do you mean—” Twilight started, but was then interrupted by Luna.
“How we finish each other’s sentences?” Luna interjected.
“Or do you mean when we speak at the same time?” Twilight and Luna asked
“Luna, Twilight can you stop that? It’s really freaking me out?” Celestia said panicking
“Of course sister.” Luna and Twilight replied morosely. Twilight and Luna turned to each other “Should we tell her?” Twilight asked Luna “Indeed we should.”
Celestia rubbed her temples as she was getting a major migraine.
“Sister, we wish to tell you something. It seems we have developed some form of empathic link. It seems to communicate emotion, pain, pleasure, thought, magic and talent as well. It is a mess right now, however we have calculated the net positives. We are smarter, harder, better, faster, stronger, more powerful in magic, we can feel and think together, we can feel each other’s pleasure.”
“La, la, la, la, la, I can’t hear you!” Celestia interrupted the two mares.
“We are in sync.”
“Now for the negatives. We can feel each other’s pain and as such if one of us is wounded the other feels it too and while it is limited to pain the loss of either one of us would likely kill the survivor, due to the loss of that connection. We are limited by range at the moment. So the further we go from each other the less the link affects us, our bodies and marks have changed so that we mirror each other, what this means is unknown. While we retain our personalities and memories, they seem as if they exist as our whole instead of two individuals. We are as one.” Twilight and Luna explained.
“Twilight, Luna what are?” Celestia asked looking decidedly confused.
“Ugh! It’s too early for hive minds” Celestia groaned rubbing her temple.
“So what do I call you now?” Celestia asked.
Twilight and Luna looked at each other again silently communicating. “Lunar Twilight or if you wish to address us individually just use our normal names, just be aware whatever is said won't remain a secret from the one who was not addressed.”
“Oh and before you think to separate us, that would be unwise. Our current state prohibits distance, the probability is high that we would suffer mental, emotional damage as well as death. But soon we shall be able to continue functioning separately as individuals while maintaining our link over distance.”
“What!? Why would you want to stay connected? What possible motivation could you have?” Celestia demanded.
Twilight and Luna moved closer to each other their wings draped over the other’s back, their tails coiled around each other. Twilight and Luna’s eyes half-lidded they kissed each other.
Pulling back to answer “Because we have discovered something, we didn’t know existed in each other. Love.”
“O-kay. Well Lunar Twilight—that’s nice to hear, I’m happy for you. How about you go decide your living arrangements?”
Twilight and Luna smiled. “Very well Sister. Shall we Twilight?” Luna spoke first.
“Yes we shall, Luna.” Twilight and Luna giggled as they trotted off towards the doors and walked through them. Closing them as they left.
“Gotcha!” Luna and twilight say at the same time.
“Oh thank our mother, you had me there Twilight, Luna.”
Twilight and Luna trot up to Celestia and hug her.
“Seriously, how in Equestria are you doing that?”
“Lots of practice and a little bit of magic.” Luna and Twilight say with matching grins.
Celestia sighed.
“Now sister” Luna started
And twilight interjected “if you'll excuse us,”
“We have a bed to share.” Luna and Twilight grinned and giggled as they left the throne room, leaving a dumbfounded Celestia alone with her guards.
“Wait what!?”
“What the buck was that!?” one of the guards exclaimed.
Celestia face hoofed “This is going to be a long day.” Celestia said exasperated at the turn of events.
Celestia turned to one of the guards “Go and retrieve the Element Bearers. Their friends require support. Now more than ever.”
In Luna’s room Twilight sat pondering a problem “A thought occurs, Luna who is going be on top?” Twilight asks “Well perhaps we should play rock, paper, and scissors?” Luna suggested.
“Yes that does seem to be a suitable compromise,” Twilight responded as they both got ready to play “1 … 2 … 3! Rock vs. rock makes this a draw. 1 … hang on how do we do paper or scissors with hooves?” Twilight asked as large grin formed on Luna’s face alongside a deep cherry pink blush on her cheeks.
“What!? No Luna! —At least not yet.” Twilight exclaimed getting flustered by the mental imagery now assaulting her mind.
Luna looked towards Twilight with her best puppy dog pout she could muster.
“No! That’s not going to work Luna. Oh geez. A princess shouldn’t pout.” Twilight hid behind her wings in embarrassment and to stop the adorable assault on her will power. Unfortunately their new link to each other made it impossible to avoid it.
“Oh fine! Maybe later.” Twilight surrendered causing Luna to squee and began to do a little victory dance, which was so adorable that Twilight couldn’t help but giggle at Luna’s antics.
Another flash of light engulfed the two of them. Eventually subsiding to reveal yet more changes. Luna’s coat color mixed with Twilight’s and vice versa with the tips of their horns and feathers highlighted by the others coat color. So that Twilight had a horn tip highlighted midnight blue, Luna had her horn tip highlighted lavender. The edges of their feathers mirroring the same.
Twilight and Luna sighed “Oh just great! Now we’re even harder to tell apart we might as well fuse together and become one pony.” Twilight said exasperated.
“Oh don’t exaggerate Twilight. At least you don’t have to deal with new genitalia” Luna admonished as she rolled her eyes.
“What about our … my … our friends.” Twilight groaned and then paused and then thought about it harder “Dammit, this is confusing!” Twilight slumped down on the floor. “What if they don’t recognise us Luna?” Twilight sighed again.
Twilight gasped “What if the scientists and academics find out!? No I don’t want to be a lab rat!” Twilight began to hyperventilate as she thought of all the experiments that they would do to her and Luna, having knowledge of those very same procedures herself. Luna shook her head Luna trotted up to Twilight and began nuzzled her leaning into her.
“It’s going to be okay Twilight, we’ll get through this and I won't let you become a lab rat.” Luna offered as she tried to cheer Twilight up.
Twilight stood back up, Luna beside her. “And even if our friends and families don’t understand Twilight, at least we have each other.” Luna said as she kissed Twilight on her cheek.
