Life as a Teenage Anthro
Dinner Time
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe trio walked to Game’s home after getting out of school, they joked among themselves and made bets on who would be the most adorable with the collar on. Grey, knowing how well Game could put his puppy eyes to use, bet on him.
Shadow was betting on Grey, knowing just how much Grey had Game wrapped around her hooves. “Game, you’re sooo going to lose this.” Remarked Sonic “You know Grey’s got you wrapped around her hooves, she can totally beat you.”
Grey smirked “I doubt that, Sonic. I may have him wrapped around my hooves, but even I fall victim to those puppy eyes.”
Game guffawed “I’ll win, you cannot resist my chubby wolf powers!” He said, wiggling his paws in Shadow’s face. “You saw me earlier. I will win.”
Grey rolled her eyes “I may agree, but you could at least say something in my favor.” she said with a false pout “You know, maybe if I win, I can dare you to do something….” she said with a mischievous grin.
Game, thought this over. “I`m sure you would make a cute sandwich, especially as small deer.” He said. “I also like the idea, whoever wins gets to dare the other to do something.
Grey smiled “It is agreed then, what do you think, Sonic?” She said, looking over to him.
Shadow shrugged “I’m up for it, lets hurry up though, it may be spring, but it’s still cold.”
“Hmm?” Game said. “I don’t feel it.”
Grey rolled her eyes. “Of course you don’t, you’ve got a layer of blubber to protect you, all we’ve got is fur.”
“Speaking of layers, Im sure my mum has got a cake in the fridge.” Game said, completely ignoring the jab at his weight. “Maybe itll help you two with the cold.”
Shadow shook his head “Do you only ever think of food? You’ve got a gorgeous doe-friend who could choose any stallion in the school, and all you ever think of is, well, cake.”
Grey chuckled “He’s doesn’t always think about cake, he sometimes thinks of pie.” She joked, nuzzling the side of Game’s face in a loving gesture.
“Exactly, I`m not a one trick wolfy. Pie is also a thing on my mind.” Game said, before catching himself. “Grey, is the number one thing though. Of course.”
Grey chuckled “Nice save, that was smooth.” she said before seeing his house a few meters away. “Looks like we’re here, I do feel a bit bad though, showing up unannounced at your home.”
“I’m sure it`ll be fine.” Game said, shrugging it off. “She'll think it is good.
Shadow shook his head, looking at his mobile. “But I’ve got to get home and do my homework and then play some games”. Shadow said.
Grey pouted “Well, see you then, don’t stay up too late playing games, we don’t want a zombie Shadow.” She joked.
“Cause that would be a bad thing.” Game, said sarcastically.
“Be nice, Game.” Grey said, before waving to Shadow as he walked off.
“What?” Game questioned. “Playing games is not a bad thing.”
“Bye guys, see you at school tomorrow!” Shadow called as he walked off.
“See ya.” Game shouted, waving.
“Well, with any luck, we’ll see him tomorrow. Now lets go inside, I’m freezing my tail off out here.” Grey said jokingly.
“We better hurry then.” Game said smirking. “There isn't much of it left.” He finished, pinching Grey’s little puffball tail.
Grey slapped his shoulder “You know that hurts, please don’t.” She said with an annoyed look in his direction.
“I’m sorry.” Game said, ears flattening slightly. “Here you can pinch mine if wants.” He finished, grabbing his tail and giving it to her.
Grey chuckled “No, it’s fine, I just don’t like it all that much.” She said, before handing him his tail back. “I’m good, but lets get inside, I can see your mum waiting for us.”
“Yeah.” Game said, looking through the window. “Better make sure you can fend off the cold then. She cooks a lot.”
“Okay?” Grey said, confused as to what fending off the cold and Game’s mother’s cooking had to do with one another.
“You know, the extra layers?” Game said, trying to make her understand. “Fat joke.” He finished pointing to himself.
“Oh, oops.” Grey replied with a slight blush, feeling embarrassed.
“It`s fine.” Game said, grabbing his keys and opening the door. “But there is a reason why I'm so cuddly. And it isn’t just because I like food.”
Grey smiled “I’m just glad I’m on track, the weight melts away.” She said before stepping inside next to him. “I like your house, it’s very, blue.” She said, commenting on the large amount of blue decor.
“Yeah, you would think that I designed it.” Game said. “It’s okay I guess. Bit small.”
Grey chuckled “Everything is small compared to you, love.” She said with a light laugh. “You once rolled over on me when we were napping, and broke one of my antlers that was rated to hold up to something like 300 or 400 pounds.” She remarked jokingly.
“I apologised for that.” Game said defensively. “Besides, I recall you hitting me with it. Also, maybe everything to you is just big.” Game finished, getting a small joke in.
“Yes, but the bruise the antler left on you was not nearly as noticeable as my broken horn.” She said before sticking her tongue out. “And maybe that is true, but don’t blame me for liking to stay skinny, I can escape stuff way faster.”
“I can eat stuff, way faster.” Game commented, throwing his back under the stairs. “And sit on things.”
“Hey, I know this is off topic, but where can I hang my coat?” Grey asked, looking around. “And yes, you can most assuredly sit on and eat things much faster than me.” She said with a small laugh.
“Just on that hook over there.” Game said, waving a paw over to the wall.
“Thanks hun!” Grey walked over to the wall and hung her coat up, then walked over to him. “You want to go sit down and eat?” she asked, her stomach growling quietly, however it was heard by Game’s ears.
“Someone’s hungry, sounds like a little angry wolfy.” Game commented, picking up on the sound of Grey’s growling stomach.
Grey blushed “Yeah, just a little.”
“Well, it will be a few minutes, want to watch TV?” Game said, sniffing the air.
“Sure, what’s on tonight, anyway?” Grey asked as they walked over to the couch.
“Nothing.” Game said, instantly knowing how the TV is. “Just let me, go tell my mum that someone else is ‘round for dinner.” He finished walking into the kitchen, before reappearing.
“Did you tell her that her son has a doe-friend?” She teased. “Because if you don’t, I will.” She said with a laugh.
“I didn't need to.” Game said nonchalantly. “She finds out everything eventually, not sure how.”
Grey laughed “That’s just what moms do. It’s in their job description.” She said, before settling down on the couch to wait for the meal that Game’s mother was working on.
“Guess so.” Game said looking back to the kitchen. “Anything on TV.”
“Just the news” Grey replied.“Better than nothing I guess.” Game replied, sitting down next to Grey.
As Grey turned the volume up, the news anchor started speaking.
“Good evening Equestria I am Bull Turnbull, and with a heavy heart I announce this news. We have received word from our correspondent in Neighfrica that several of the countries within have gone to food war. The tensions within the continent are at an all-time high, and pies have been fired from several of the countries. Many ponies are now covered in lemon custard, and they are bringing out the cherry pies as reinforcements. Several Equestrian guards have been brought out to aid the cleaning.”
“Well, what else are they good for?” Game, commented, instantly getting shushed by Grey.
“And as night falls over the world, we all anxiously watch for improvements. This is Bull Turnbull, signing out.”
As if perfectly timed, Game’s Mother called out for them to “Come and Get it.”
Grey stood up and helped Game to do the same, before walking into the dining room. Her mouth watering at the smell of the food.
“Just a pointer, the white stuff that isn't mash.” Game said, grabbing her shoulder. “Don`t eat it.
“What is it?” Grey questioned
“Just trust me.” He finished, taking his seat.
“Okay…” Grey said, eyeing the plate filled with the mystery substance.
Shadow arrived at his house which held no-one but himself within. “I will find them someday.” Shadow mumbled to himself, going to his room. The room held a large map on the wall, but is was otherwise very sparsely decorated. “I will find them.” Shadow said, determination in his voice as he went to rest.
