It was a beautiful Summer day in Ponyville. There was a warm breeze outside, no clouds in the sky to block the sun, and everything smelled fresh. As perfect as this day seemed, it was time for the first day of school after the long break, and things were being rushed at Sweet Apple Acres.

"C'mon, Applebloom! You're gonna be late!" Applejack exclaimed, calling up the stairs.

Applebloom grunted while she tried to get out of her last outfit, "Just...another second...sis!" She finally got out, but rolled down the stairs with a pile of clothes on her. "Ow!"

Applejack looked at her, "What the hay is this all about? You're not goin' to the Gala, it's just the first day of school! With ponies you've already met and known for the past year or two!"

"Can we just get to school before I'm late..." Applebloom asked.

Applejack growled a bit, "Fine, you'll just have to eat your breakfast on the way there." Applebloom got her saddle-bag and placed it on her back. It was full of school-supplies needed for the new year. Applejack stuck an apple muffin in her muzzle, "Now, c'mon!"

Applebloom had eaten her muffin, difficultly, but she managed. Applejack walked her to school, and when they arrived, Babs was waiting there.

"Babs?! H-How'd she get here?! She's supposed to be in Manehatten!" Applebloom said surprised.

Applejack chuckled, "Oh, yeah, I forgot to tell ya Babs converted over to this school instead. The bullies back in Manehatten never stopped, even if she got a bit more aggressive since. She can handle the two fillies here, though, can't rightly remember their names. Anyways, let's go say 'hi' to her real quick."

Applebloom walked over to Babs with Applejack. "Howdy, Babs!" Applejack called out.

Babs gasped, "Hey, guys! Applebloom, I can't wait to start school with you! Can ya believe my parents let me transfer?!"

"I can't wait either, and it's amazing! Maybe we can convince Ms. Cheerlie to let us sit next to each other! I don't like sitting next to Diamond Tiara anyways..." Applebloom replied.

"W-Wait...Silverspoon and Diamond Tiara go here?" Babs responded worriedly.

Applebloom rolled her eyes, "Yeah, but don't worry. We can take her, you've got me, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo on your side!" She smiled.

Babs grinned back, "Thanks, 'cuz!" They both walked inside.

Applejack shouted from behind, "Y'all have fun! I'll pick you up later!" The two waved back and took their seats. Ms. Cheerlie didn't seem to notice, nor care. She knew Babs was new, and wanted to make her feel welcome. If there had been problems sitting next to each other, then she'd make changes.

Diamond Tiara walked in with Silverspoon. "Ugh! What is a blank-flank doing in my seat, Ms. Cheerlie?! More importantly, why is it HER?!" Diamond Tiara was disgusted as she spoke.

Ms. Cheerlie smiled, "You know Babs? How wonderful! Well, you see, she's a new student that attends here, I want to make her feel welcome. Besides, Applebloom is her cousin. You may take a seat in the back, Diamond Tiara."

"T-The BACK?! But it's soooo filthy and dusty! Plus, I can't see! And that weird kid sits back there! What about Silverspoon?!" Diamond Tiara complained.

"Good idea! Silverspoon, you can sit back there, on the left side of Marty, Diamond Tiara, you sit on his right. Scootaloo, come sit up here next to Babs." Ms. Cheerlie directed.

Marty smiled, "Hey, Diamond, want a pencil? I have all different colors. Yellow pencils, green pencils, purple pencils, red pencils, orange pencils, pink pencils, violet pencils, magenta pencils, turquoise pencils..."

"UGH! THIS is what I meant by WEIRD KID!" Diamond Tiara slammed her face on her desk, keeping it there.

"I also have scented pencils. Pineapple, cookie-dough, lilac, candy cane, apple, cinnamon, cotton candy, pine..." Marty continued, until Silverspoon spoke.

"Make...it...STOP!" Silverspoon cried out, joining her friend with a face-plant into her desk.

The Cutie Mark Crusaders and Babs laughed at them silently. After they had taken all their materials out, and organized where everything went under Ms. Cheerlie's instruction, she called for lunch-time. She decided to have it outside.

Babs, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo, and Applebloom all sat together when they ate. "I can't believe you're going to this school now, Babs!" Scootaloo said happily.

"Yeah! What's it like for you being the new kid, anyways?" Sweetie Belle questioned.

Babs replied, "Well, I've been to Ponyville before, just not the school. I guess it isn't that bad, but I thought I'd get more attention than I would be now. No pony's even said 'hi' to me today asides from you three and AJ. Not even Ms. Cheerlie welcomed me."

"Eh, a lot of ponies here don't really care about anything anymore. They're more into paying attention to Diamond and Silver." Scootaloo answered. They looked over to where she was 'entertaining'.

"...And so I said, "You call THIS a breakfast platter?!"" Diamond Tiara was finishing a story up from her morning. Everypony laughed at the seemingly boring story.

Applebloom growled, "I don't get it! What is so funny about that story?!"

"I'm gonna go say somethin' to 'em." Babs said, getting up.

Sweetie Belle whispered from behind, "B-Babs? What are you doing?!"

Babs stood on a table, "Listen up! What is so funny about her lame stories? Just answer me, what is so amsuin'?"

Diamond Tiara laughed, "The fact that I can tell better stories than you. I'm also way more popular and interesting. Right, Sil?"

"That's right, we're both so much more popular and...um...that other big word she said." Silverspoon replied, fixing her glasses.

"I can't believe you ponies. Why do you worship the dirt she walks on?" Babs asked.

Marty shouted, "'Cause she's awesome! Now get off the table!" The crowd of kids started chanting for her to get down, and yelled 'boo'. They also threw their lunches at her. Babs eventually got down after getting humiliated.
