After years of servitude, Spike ends up in a dimension where problems are solved with cards instead of golden necklaces with encrusted gems, a place where friendship itself is not enough to save the day.
Very few believed in the Afterlife, and one of them was our victim, Spike Solaris, adoptive son of Celestia, and former assistant of Twilight Sparkle. Upon his own death, he ends up on a different kind of Earth, where monsters summoned by Duel Disks are used to solve the world's problems and such.
