I opened the door to the hotel and slumped down onto a ragged couch by the wall. I sighed in relief as Red and Blue each took a seat in a chair. The hotel lobby was a little dark, seeing as how it was only lit by candles. There were a few ponies sitting at the bar drinking liquor and listening to the radio. Bugs crawled on the floor and the air was slightly humid. Red and Blue glanced at each other.

“So,” Red started.

“What do you say?” Blue finished.

“Thanks, though I could’ve handled them myself,” I replied.

“Really? You could’ve killed those raiders with--“

“A gun with no bullets?” Blue said, finishing Red’s sentence.

“I could’ve just beaten them over the head with it,” I scoffed.

“All four of them?” Red said with a chuckle. Red and Blue both adjusted their glasses. Their horns glowed as each of their guns levitated into their holsters.

“Shut up,” I said, shaking my head.

“Excuse me, who are you three?” the pony behind the bar said. She took off her hat and placed it on the counter. I stood up with a grunt.

“Sacred Song,” I announced, trotting my way towards the counter. Red and Blue followed suit.

“I’m Red, and he’s--“

“Blue.”

“Oh, a pair of twins, huh? Do you all want a room? If so, it’ll be 50 caps for one night,” the bartender said in a charming tone. Red and Blue each took 25 caps out of their bags and placed them on the counter.

“Thanks, enjoy your stay!” the bartender said with a grin and moved the caps over to the register. I made my way towards the stairs.
