Rainbow Dash was so worried she told Daring Do and the Cutie Mark Crusaders all about it. "Geez," Scootaloo said. "For one, that must be PAINFUL, and for two, I didn't expect you to be that scared." Rainbow cried and attempted to stay strong.
"Oh, Rainbow, I know, but I'm sure the spa ponies will take the pain away," replied Daring Do. "Trust me, I've been there a hundred times, and it didn't hurt one bit." Daring Do offered to demonstrate, and Rainbow accepted. "If this hurts, let me know."
Rainbow lay down on her stomach and relaxed her muscles as Daring Do gently massaged her friend's back for about 5 minutes. Rainbow screamed in agony once it was over. Her back hurt terribly and she screamed so loud it drew blood to everypony's ears. After about 3 minutes of screeching like an eagle, she blacked out. Her final words before the coma were, "I'm...in...pain."
Rainbow's eyes fluttered open about an hour later. She saw Rarity right in front of her. The unicorn said softly, "Wake up, darling. It's time to get ready." Rainbow stretched out her wings and headed straight for the Ponyville Spa. She was praying it wouldn't hurt.
"Okay, Rarity," Twilight said. "What's first?" Rarity said they were going to soak in the hot tub and get their manes washed. Rainbow felt herself enjoying the experience, even though the spa ponies were a little rough at first. She almost fell asleep in the relaxing warm water.
"You know," she said. "Maybe this won't be so bad after all."
Apple Bloom walked to her friends (including Daring Do
) and said, "Ya think Rainbow's enjoyin' this day at all?" All 3 ponies answered with a shrug, which was answered by Apple Bloom's groan. "Ah don't think she is." Apple Bloom went to check on her just to make sure.
The young Earth filly looked through the door with a gasp. The Mane 6 have been soaking for about 15 minutes now, and Apple Bloom was surprised to see Rainbow enjoying it. Rainbow sighed and said, "Girls, I underestimated you." Rarity looked at her with a confused face, and Rainbow finally confessed her secret. "When I was a filly, I fell into a coma and broke many limbs. My back, my hooves, my wings..."
She told her friends the whole story and AJ answered, "Dang, Rainbow, that must REALLY hurt!" Rainbow answered with a nod, tears spilling from her eyes. "Sugarcube, don't be so hard on yourself. If some bully was underestimatin' you, he can take a hike!" Applejack gently put a hoof on Rainbow's shoulder and said, "As Ah said this mornin', Ah promise it won't hurt."
Rainbow smiled. Wiping her tears, she said, "What's next, Rares?" Rarity said that they were getting massages. Rainbow realized it didn't hurt like what Daring Do did. The spa ponies identified everypony's favorite oils. Applejack's was Apple Delight, Rarity's was Diamond Dazzle, Twilight's was Magic Amaze, Fluttershy's was Forest Wonder, Pinkie's was Party Time Relaxation, and Rainbow's was Special Rainboom.
After an entire 20-minute massage, Rarity said the last thing was a hooficure. Rainbow froze in horror. "Listen, darling, it doesn't hurt, and....AHHHHHHH!" Rarity was terrified when she saw Rainbow's hooves. They were bleeding so much she fainted.
When Rarity finally woke up she told the spa ponies to go easy on Rainbow. One of them gently pressed the file against Rainbow's right hoof, while the other one massaged the left. Rainbow took a deep breath and closed her eyes. She sighed as her hooves began to feel a lot better.
About 5 minutes later, Rainbow felt no pain in a single limb. Her hooves looked nicer than ever. Rarity was in right in front of her. The unicorn said, "Did you enjoy this, dear?" "Yes," Rainbow said softly.
She realized she didn't need her robotic gadgets anymore. She threw them out and walked straight back to the castle with her friends, feeling no pain. Nada. Zip. Zilch.
Each Cutie Mark Crusader went to their sister, asking them about their spa day. They all said it was absolutely wonderful. Scootaloo was so surprised she almost fell. Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom, and Daring Do joined them, along with the rest of the Mane 6.
"I loved it, girls," Rainbow said. "I loved it."
"Hey, Rainbow CRASH!" a bully said firmly. "How 'bout you give up your stupid desire to fly? I'm much better than you!" But Rainbow Dash would never give up. She was the most determined and brave Pegasus in Cloudsdale.
"How about you stop being a JERK and watch me fly? I'm gonna crush you like a bug!" She flew forward as the bully sped up behind her. He was catching up. "Oh, you wanna race?" said the young filly. "Let's do it."
She zipped forward, pushing her wings as hard as she could. A big sonic rainboom was in the presence of all the young Pegasi. But it was no regular sonic rainboom. It was the first quadruplet rainboom EVER. The wind blew hard as dust began to travel into the center of Rainbow's eyes. She screamed in agony at the sting of the dust. She lost conciousness completely as the last blast of dust hit her pink irises.
Rainbow Dash remembered that moment, when she fell into a coma, and woke up with broken limbs, using electronic boosters to make it look like she could still move properly. The young mare lay on her cloud bed, waiting for her friends to call her down. She began to practice a little bit. All of a sudden, she heard Applejack's voice. "Rainbow, come down! Today's our Annual Spa Day!"
"Oh, no," Rainbow groaned. She hated the Annual Spa Day. Massages, hooficures, soaking, she thought it would all hurt with her broken limbs. She was forced to come down. "Applejack, what if it hurts?"
"It's okay, sugarcube. It won't. I promise."
