Unexpected-A Fluttercord Story
The Alarm - SNEAK PEEK
Previous Chapter`It was a strange thing, waking up in the middle of a nap and having your butt firing off burst of sounds like some disoriented alarm.
Rainbow Dash sprung into the air with great alarm. A distant screech was heard the distance, and her spine chilled to the bone. The kind of chill that was like nothing she'd ever felt before; the terror of simply feeling it; feeling of pure fear. A ghastly vision appeared before her: Fluttershy, her fellow element, had been attacked by a Timber wolf up in the hills surrounding Ponyville. Clearing her sight, she turned her stare back towards her flashing cutie-mark, and had the urge to cover her ears from the alarming sound. It was so loud, and so defiant!Suddenly, she came to realize what that vision was for.
"Fluttershy!" Rainbow shouted, jumping off the small, plush cloud she'd been napping on. The sky shone brightly blue on the afternoon sky, making her feathers gleam in the sunlight as the pegasus stretches her wings as wide as she could. Taking a high leap into the air, the cloud moved from underneath her, and air began to flow through her wings. Mid-way through her take-off, she caught sight of Twilight.
"Twilight! Fluttershy's in trouble!" she called. She caught air and began to fly forward in a haze of colors. Her heart pounded hard in her chest, its ecstatic beat ringing in her ears. Her head fogged in thought as she dizzily flew towards her friend.
"I-I know!" Twilight huffed. Down from the streets, Twilight gasped in a gulp of air and pushed off the ground, taking part in the frantic flight to the outskirts of Pony Ville. "Where are the others?"
"I don't know!" Rainbow yelled from in front. "I think Applejack's-"
"Never mind! We don't have time!" The purple alicorn interrupted. Shining with a newfound burst of determination, she flew past Rainbow Dash, surpassing her with her mighty speed. Rainbow glared, her eyes showing surprise with a touch of envy, and speed off after her, catching up with the somewhat fast and slow alicorn split seconds later. The flight was rather like a race; a certainly messed up race but a race nonetheless. Looking down, Rainbow saw bright flashes of light and recognized Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity scrambling through the streets down below. All around bystanders looked at the group of mares like they each had two heads, all with their "screaming" cutie-marks flashing like a house on Hearths-warming Eve.
"You guys!" the cyan pegasus called. Slowing down, she let Twilight fly ahead. "Did you-"
"AAAIE!" Came another screech, this time more in pain. Applejack whipped her head around to face Rainbow Dash staring right back at her. If looks could speak, hers would scream. Get over there!
By now, Fluttershy's form appeared the distance, though unclear. Twilight's horn flared as soon as she caught sight of Rainbow beginning to slide up beside her. At that moment, Rainbow suddenly found herself right alongside her friends in a new surrounding.
Peaceful, if not for the scene before her.
What they saw was unbelievable.
A pack of three Timber wolves were sitting, growling ferociously and playing with their new "toy" Fluttershy. The each took turns throwing her up in the air by one of her hind legs, each time cutting deeper into her flesh. Fluttershy screamed and struggled, but it was of no use. The Timber wolves paid no heed to her begs of mercy. The elements wasted no time.
"Rainbow! Pinkie! Applejack! Quick, take care of the Timber wolves! Rarity, come with me!" Twilight ordered.
"No problem!" Rainbow smirked. Now this was a challenge that she loved to face. While friendship problems were cool and all, it was much cooler to go head-to-head in a huge fight against ferocious Timber-wolves. Adrenaline rushing through her, the cyan-blue pegasus moved forward.
"Yee-haw!" Applejack cried as she ran full speed towards the nearest Timber wolf. With a sharp spin of her hooves, Applejack turned around and bucked the wolf hard. breaking its face into pieces. Meanwhile, Pinkie Pie scrambled to the backside of another wood beast. Pulling a gigantic party cannon out of thin air, she covered her ears as the cannon fired confetti, cake, and all things sweet onto the Timber wolf's rear. Crying out in surprise, the gigantic wooden monster turned around only to find its entire backside stuck to the ground in a giant sticky mess. Distracted, the Timber wolf took no notice of Rainbow quickly moving to it's front side. With a sharp kick, Rainbow sliced through the wolf's face like a knife through butter, disassembling the creature completely.
"Quick! Cover all the sticks with that gooey stuff to prevent these guys from sticking back together!" Rainbow called to the two earth ponies.
"Right!" Pinkie smiled. She aimed another batch of her confectionary fatality at one of the many piles of wood left by the Timber wolves. The blast tingled her ears with it's roar. Keeping herself alert, Rainbow dove and scooped another hoard of remains for Pinkie to 'disable'. After multiple shots, all of the remnants of the wolves disassembled thus far were covered from top to bottom in a sugary, pink slop of goo.
Applejack, having had enough with the wolves' merciless terror, ran up at full speed and spun 'round hard on her heels, kicking the last remaining monster's legs apart and then finishing it off with a square buck in the face. From above her, Rainbow flew in and quickly took the remnants as they began to bare a sickly green glow. Applejack hooted in triumph.
"Take that, ya nasty lil' varmints!" She cried.
