Chapter 4

"I suddenly don't like where this is going, but if it will get me away from here, I will do it," said Midnight.

"Good," said Fire Storm, "now, what's the smallest crime that can get someone deported from Ti?"

"Um, I could always just beat someone up," Midnight said.

Upon saying this, Fire Storm turned toward him, with a slight twinkle in her eye, and said, "That's it! We will have you beat someone up!"

"Only if they deserve it though, I don't just go punching people for a good laugh," Midnight said, "but we should wait a few days, make myself be known to be somepony who would do such a thing if crossed, if I did that, then I would be deported a bit faster from when it happened."

"Wow," said Fire storm, "you are really thinking hard on this aren't you?"

"No, wait, this plan won't work," said Midnight.

"Why not?" asked Storm, "you just play pretend for a few days."

"It's not that, it's that I change back at dawn every day, therefore, I can't go into town without it being discovered I've been exposed to void energy, and once that is found out, I would likely be put to death rather than deported."

Storm sighed, and said "True, except the inns there allow late night arrivals, and leavings."

"Oh…" Midnight said, feeling a little stupid, "well then let's get as much ground covered tonight as we-" Midnight was then cut off by a loud Roar. Quickly looking out towards the direction of the roar, which was the ocean, he saw, to his horror, the Obsidian Hydra he dropped off of Evisica running toward him, its appeared to have even more heads than before, and its eyes were fixated on him with the rage of one who was out for revenge against those whom had wronged it.

Upon seeing this monster, Midnight shouted "RUN, FIRE STORM!" and took a battle-ready stance, his horn at the ready.

\Are you INSANE? That thing nearly KILLED you last time, and now it's angry at you for dropping it from several thousand feet above sea level!/

"How many times do I have to tell you to shut up?"

Midnight began to charge an advanced piercing spell, aimed directly at the beast's chest, but was then stopped when he saw something which looked like it was a phoenix flying toward the beast, and removed almost all of it's heads simultaneously. It also seemed to melt the area around the cut, causing the heads to be unable to grow back. Midnight then shot the spell he was charging, which cut clean through what he could only assume was the accursed beast's heart, muttering, "I have said it before to you; may you find peace in hell."

The flaming figure flying overhead suddenly dived toward him, the speed of which caused the flames to be doused, revealing the figure to be none other than Fire Storm, who crashed into midnight, thereby giving him his only real wound from this battle, which was quite the burn.

He quickly moved Fire Storm off of him whilst casting a healing spell to reverse the burn, muttering "Well, that's going to leave a scar." And used the last of his available magic to move Fire Storm back into the cave, whom was sound asleep, he had a lot of questions to ask her tomorrow night, and walked to the other side of the cave, which was surprisingly cold in comparison to the rest of it, and went to sleep as the night ended and the day began.

-Day Form-

When Midnight awoke from his other forms sleep, he noticed that Fire Storm had left the spot where 'he' had put her, and got up to look for her. He found her outside the cave, doing what looked like warming some food, and suddenly realized how hungry he was. He approached Fire Storm, and said "Hello, how are you this morning?"

"Just fine, and you?" Fire Storm inquired, focusing more on cooking breakfast than talking.

"Good enough, but still, I'm surprised that the obsidian hydra was still alive, and that it walked all the way here so quickly." Midnight Responded, more than a little shocked they lived through the attack, and that it was dead at all.

"Wait, you've seen that… thing, before?" Storm asked, almost giving Midnight her full attention.

"Yup, my 'night' form dropped him off of Evisica," Midnight said, almost as though he was enjoying the memories of its attacks, "but, still, how did he survive that drop…"

"Who knows" Fire Storm said, whilst eating the food she prepared.

"Wait," Midnight said, "I'm just wondering, is there anything here I would be allowed to eat?" In response to this question, Storm smiles, and points at the grass growing around them.

Midnight then sighed, muttering "Fine," and began grazing silently.

The rest of the day went off without any real problems, and when midnight began to ask questions, Storm simply said "It will be better if I don't have to ask or answer questions twice, so let's wait until nightfall, that way both of you're… 'parts' will be present."

A few hours after breakfast, Midnight Fury Decided he wanted to go exploring, so as to get a feel for their surroundings. After a good 20 minutes of walking, Midnight found a small group of apple trees, and decided to have a small snack of fruit before heading back. When he got back to the cave, it was nearly sundown, and Storm was waiting for him to transform. So he let the darkness take over once more.

-Night Form-

When Midnight finished changing form, he was surprised to find he wasn't tied up, like he normally was. Fire Storm sat across from him, on a patch of burnt grass, and said, "I've been wondering, exactly how does your horn continue to break?"

"Well, you see, every night, I have a specific amount of magic I can use. If I go over, it breaks. It also automatically breaks when my 'day' form takes over." Said Midnight plainly, "While we are asking questions, how did you burst into fire last night?"

Fire Storm seemed a little ashamed by this question, "I don't know how it happens, as you can tell, my body temperature is rather abnormal. My emotions control my body temperature, I was just so scared of it that my body temp got high enough that I just burst into flames, it also happens when I get into a true rage, depression, and so on. Is that all or should we take longer to reach Ti?"

"No, that's all, let's go." Said Midnight.

It was a long, hard trek. Fire Storm had spent most of the day packing bags, in which there was food, water, soap, and other various provisions, she had also found a map of the surrounding area, and were moving to the nearest cave to the both a body of fresh water, and a village of some sort.

When they made it to the cave, Dawn was starting to break, so midnight decided to get some rest, set up his bedroll, and flopped down on it, trying to get a little sleep before being transformed by the sun again.

Yeah… I've made the day form have a comparatively boring life to the night form… oh well, in personal opinion; I care about all my OC's equally (other than one which I shall never mention the name of, or post online). Once again, I own nothing but my OC's, and the Obsidian Hydra, and yes, it's dead now, I don't think it will be coming back again.
