Twilight Sparkle has experienced the phenomenon known as the Dark Hour ever since she was seven. She has since become borderline-obsessed with anything pertaining to supernatural events, knowing that she couldn't be the only person like that.

Her research led her to Canterlot High, a school with a history of odd happenings, where she met a strange man in her dreams and signed a contract. Now all of a sudden, she has to defeat monsters in a place called Tartarus, deal with a weird trio of girls who call themselves the Dazzlings, and make friends. Truth be told, she's kind of in over her head.
