Hot Head decides to snuggle Amber
"Oh Hot Head...!" A voice said, teasing him as it lurked through the house.
'Please no... not today.' A nervous teen said, crouched in a closet. He shook a little in his pajamas as he did his best to keep quiet. He clamped his hand over his mouth to prevent to not breath so loud.
"Come on out... all I want is a hug."
'Oh sure... I know why you really want a hug.' Hot Head thought.
This was a tradition in weekends. When Amber had a day off, she'd spend it lounging around. And every morning however, she would hunt Hot Head down to hug him.
Just... there's one thing.
"She hasn't talked in a while" he said to an invisible friend.
The closet door flew open, showing Amber in a loose fitting t-shirt and panties. Hot Head covered his eyes to prevent himself from staring at her, acting disgusted as he blushed a deep crimson.
"Hug time!" She exclaimed as she leaped on him, ignoring his screams of terror.
"That was stupid." Hot Head whined as he sat at the table, eating cereal.
"Oh stop." Amber said. "You know you like it."
Giving no more then an annoyed "huff", Hot Head finished breakfast.
"Oh by the way, you need to get groceries today." Amber called to him.
Before Hot Head could respond, Lucky walked in. Amber sprang out of her seat and ran over to hug him.
"Lucky! Guess what, since I got the day off we can rent a movie and snuggle all day."
Lucky smirked. "That sounds great... I might have to go to the hardware store later since my light went out in my room last night."
"Aw..." Amber pretended to whine.
"Though I'm sure Hot Head would love to snuggle you."
Hot Head yelled "Shut up!" as he went to the bathroom. He knew he couldn't face them, the blush on his face would have revealed to much.
'Just like Amber has revealed to much to me.' He thought as he got in the shower.
The three had been living in Canterlot for about two years now. When Amber became 18 and had to leave the Ponyville orphanage, she chose to legally adopt the two and bring them with her to Canterlot. The trio lived together ever since. Today was a normal Saturday to them, embarrassing Hot Head, running errands and so fourth.
The only of them that was missing was Anthea, who was adopted by Fluttershy. At the time, the four had just met the bearers to the elements of Harmony shortly before. Fluttershy was very nice and turned out to be a very good caretaker for their friend.
Nothing was perfect for Hot Head though, Lucky had a crush on Annie and had found out a few months ago she was dating the gentle giant, Turquoise Blitz, the son of Spike and Rarity. Hot Head, unfortunately thought him to be someone who would end up hurting Annie and jumped in to try and protect her. They've been on uneasy ground since, didn't help that Hot Head was rivaling with Rainbow Dash's son.
Hot Head wiped the fog off of the mirror to look at himself. He avoided his routine of going "looking good Hot Head" since he was heard last time. But he wasn't wrong, he was well grown for a 15 year old. He kept a work out routine to follow in order to build muscle for when he planned to join the guard one day.
Yet despite that, he still couldn't get the courage to spend one on one time with Amber. He and Lucky didn't see her as their mother, but as a friend who adopted them to get them out of the orphanage.
So why is it that when she asks to snuggle, he gets flustered and can barely make a sentence?
"I blame hormones." He told himself as he walked out of the bathroom and to his room. Locking the door, since no one liked to knock, he got dressed. Amber told him it would rain today around mid afternoon, so he dressed warm despite it being the middle of summer. He walked out to the living room to see his two roommates snuggled on the couch watching the morning news, laughing at a news anchor looking at the wrong camera.
Hot Head walked over to the counter, ignoring the copy of "Dealing with your troubled teen" that was conveniently placed right by the money Amber let him for groceries. He looked and glared at Amber before grabbing the cash.
"Left you some extra cash." She said as she turned to him. "Treat yourself."
"Oh cool." Hot Head commented as he walked to the front door.
"What do you say?" Her voice cut in.
"Thank you." Hot Head sighed.
"You're welcome sweety. Be back soon, it's gonna rain later."
"Okay, bye bye. Love you." Hot Head said as he quickly closed the door. Saying 'love you' to her was normal for him and Lucky. The trio had been together since childhood and there was no limit to how they would express their care for each other.
Except for snuggling... and Hot Head was still not a hundred percent why he wouldn't snuggle Amber. He recalled that he used to be flustered when she showed affection to him when they were little. Annie didn't help by asking 'is it because you love her', which he didn't. Maybe it was the dreaded P word that was making him this way. Sometime after they moved in, Amber tried to give a lesson on the "changes" like the "good mother she was trying to be". And by lesson, I mean showing pictures and making things as awkward as she could for the two for her amusement and her amusement only.
Hot Head shrugged it off, doubting that it would cross his mind later. He kept walking, shrugging off the fact that he forget to get a jacket. Maybe they had some firewood left... he hoped. A fire and some hot chocolate would go great when he got back.
He shivered slightly as the blast of air hit him as he walked into the store. Checking the list, he walked to the nearest aisle.
"Lucky, take a coat. Its supposed to rain." Amber told him.
"I will Amber. I know this because you've felt the need to inform me and Hot Head every five minutes." Lucky said.
"Well don't get mad at me when you get salmonella." Amber lectured.
"That's if you eat to much cookie dough."
"Hush you! I know what I said." Amber scolded before the two broke out into a fit a giggles.
"Okay Amber, you can treat Hot Head's 'salmonella" Lucky added quote, chuckling. "when he gets back."
"Goodness, to bad he can't snuggle like he was so hoping to do this morning." she said sarcastically.
"Man, his whole day must be ruined now." Lucky said as he grabbed his keys.
"Well I'll see you later." Amber called to him as she sat down.
"Alright Amber, you take care till I get back." Lucky called as he walked out the door.
"Okay you, be good. Don't talk to strangers." She informed as he left.
Sighing, she sat on the couch and flipped through channels on the TV. Things were always boring when the two boys weren't around. She couldn't mess around with Hot Head or do something fun with Lucky. Alone time was not for her. She'd much rather be hanging around her friends or partying. Yet, no party's tonight, nor was a train to Ponyville in order.
But it was only for an hour or two. One of them would be back sooner or later.
'Ugh, stupid Amber, being all hot and half naked 80 percent of the time. Stupid Lucky, cuddling her and rubbing it in my face cause I can't because she's really hot and has probably messed up my hormones. Stupid..'
Hot Head inner ramblings hadn't ceased since he left the store. Being the moody teen he has been, Hot Head was known to ramble to himself about topics that wouldn't matter in five years. Thankfully, the empty streets of Canterlot were able to support his fueled ego so the ground won't cave in.
Though this one had been going on for a long time. He had a huge crush on Amber when they were little, bringing her cards and candy when he had the chance and calling her the most "beautiful girl in all of Equestria". The crush never really left, he just had more to focus on... like being a good "son" to her...
Okay, friend. You get the idea.
Ever since she adopted him, he felt the need to care for her as well as she had for him and Lucky. So sure, it was her house and she should be free to lounge however she pleased.
He just wished it wasn't at his expense. Seeing Amber in the buff at times was a curse. Being at the age of.... "change" lets call it, he was certain to not have took notice to her. Hot Head just felt guilty to admit that he had at times.
Then there was the snuggling. She used to ask him to snuggle all the time, but gave up at his constant rejecting so she moved on to Lucky. The only problem was that Hot Head, as a friend, would have loved to snuggle her. The two could just huddle up under a blanker on a lazy day and watch movies or tv all day. Yet he struggled to see her as a friend recently since his break up with Whirlwind. Hot Head started to view her as a romantic partner much to his dismay.
Hot Head hoped that one day, he could see her as the friend she is and not the woman he still has a crush on.
Thunder sounded, startling him. The rain poured down on him as he continued walking. It didn't bother him, he often told the others that training for the Royal Guard would require to brave the cold. Might have been a lie just so he could look tough, but it could help him in the long.
He shivered slightly as he jogged around a corner and saw something that horrified him.
Amber sniffled and wiped her tears as she held her ankle in pain. The rain fell on her as she struggled to stand, only to whine in pain. Hearing the sound of someone stepping in a puddle, she turned her head to see Hot Head standing over her.
"Amber! Are you alright!?" He cried, concerned for his friend.
"Y-yeah... just sprained my ankle." She said.
"That's not alright!" Hot Head exclaimed. He crouched down grabbed her hand and put it over his shoulders. Lifting her up, he lead her out of the alley way.
"What were you doing out here? It's pouring." He said, clearly frustrated to see her getting hurt.
"Lucky forgot his phone. I had to bring it to him..." Amber moaned as she limped alongside Hot Head, leaning her head on his shoulder. "I slipped and hurt my ankle. I crawled out of the rain."
Hot Head could believe that, while Ponyville was more natural and the roads weren't to slippery, Canterlot was known for having slippery roads so much some people would leave for the winter and come back in Spring.
"What if I hadn't found you, how would you get home?" Hot Head asked.
"I..." She didn't have an answer, it was so cold.
"Look just... don't hurt yourself Amber. I care to much to want to have to carry you home." Hot Head said.
"Okay, Mr. skateboarder. Let me know when you bust your wrist again." Amber said, chuckling a little to herself.
"Oh hush."
The two burst through the front door, drenched from the awful downpour outside. Hot Head rushed to grab a towel and gave it to Amber, who limped to her bedroom to change out of her wet clothes. Hot Head did the same.
"Well... that was something." He commented. "I... I didn't once bother to see if her shirt was see through or... hug her closer then normal." He thought out loud to himself.
Hot Head changed back into his pajamas, no point in going back outside so might as well dress to stay inside. He walked out into the living room to witness Amber shivering under a blanket. She too had changed back into pajamas, and even being dry wasn't enough to keep her warm. Hot Head rushed to the kitchen and got two makes and was prepared started making hot chocolate for them.
As he brought the two mugs out, he could see Amber not even acknowledge them. This wasn't normal, Amber would jump to drink hot chocolate on a cold day, but she kept shivering under the blanket. Knowing what he had to do, he set them on coffee table and got under blanket with her. Amber attached herself to Hot Head instantly and snuggled as close as she could to him. Hot Head wrapped an arm around her waist and petted her head, comforting her until they both fell asleep.
Putting his umbrella away, Lucky stepped through the door and was greeted by the smell of a lit fireplace. He took off his jacket and hung up on the coat rack and went to his room to change the lightbulb.
"Odd, no one greeted me. Amber must have fallen asleep and Hot Head probably had to wait out the rain." He said.
Moments later, he stepped out to the living room and finally saw where they were.
Snuggled up to Hot Head was Amber, who's chest rose with each breath she took in her sleep as the teenage boy snored softly.
"I am so taking pictures." Lucky said as he went to get a camera.
