With the extinction of humanity near inevitable the governments of the world make the ultimate ultimatum; stop the barriers expansion or face nuclear annihilation. Equestria upon seeing this tried to double their efforts to wipe humanity of the face of the Earth, but it was too little too late. The ICBMs flew from their silos and covered the Earth in nuclear fire. The radiation from the devastating explosions overloaded the barrier and began to eat away at it. Soon the barrier was slowly eaten away and the radiation began to spread throughout the lands lost and Equestria itself.

Now the once great Earth is eternally scared, but it still holds survivors. No matter how hard humanity is pushed down they always get back on their feet, even if they have to live within the metros of their dead cities and scavenge for supplies. Humanity always survives.
