Long ago in the magical land of Equestria, before Discord brought unending chaos to our nation everything was peaceful. Besides the sisters and their family there was one other alicorn; a prince, but he was not born an alicorn, he was born a pegasus. His name was Overcast; he was a pretty introverted pegasus, and his father was a unicorn, he had an odd affinity for the pony brain, instead of tending to the weather like other pegasi, he became a researcher. He worked alongside Starswirl to reveal the secrets of the brain and made many breakthroughs in the field of psychology, which is why the symbol of psychologists is now his cutie mark, a brain superimposed on a pony’s head. Oddly no records actually say why he was made an alicorn maybe it was because of his achievements in psychology, or his research on earth ponies and pegasi obtaining unicorn magic through a mutation that gives them a magic gland like a unicorn’s, or maybe it was his greatest achievement finding his second talent and earning two cutie marks. Whatever earned him the privilege of being an alicorn it didn’t last long, Discord arrived and when Overcast fought back Discord relinquished him of that privilege regressing him to an earth pony. It is unknown whether he died like that or lived the rest of his life as an earth pony, but no matter the outcome he is remembered maybe by only a few, but that’s better than being forgotten.
“Well it appears that we’re out of time for today Ms. Sparkle, how about next Thursday at noon for our meeting?” the old stallion asked. His name was Gravestone and he had a cutie mark of a single headstone with the words here lies… on it. Not the most comforting image a therapist could have on him but he did well anyways.
“Yes I can make it then Gravestone, and please call me Twilight.” Twilight Sparkle one of the famed elements of harmony and the personal student of Princess Celestia, here to have a psychological checkup to see about helping her control her OCD, of course at the first chance she gets she changes the subject to a history lesson.
“Well I’ll see you then have a wonderful day it’s quite nice out from what I can see.” Gravestone said to twilight as she left the room.
Twilight walked through the town of Ponyville, the clinic was on the east end of town and her tree-house was only down the road west from town hall, so she had a few minutes of walking till she got home. When she passed by the town hall she noticed royal guards standing watch outside the door.
As she approached two griffons arrived one was a male with a scar over his left eye, he was the Ceasar of the Griffon Empire, Bravewing, and the other griffon was pretty familiar, Twilight just couldn’t put a name to her.
“Hey dad thanks for bringing me and all but can I just hang out around town or something?” a very familiar voice spoke. Twilight finally realizing who it was.
“Very well Gilda but you must join me in the next meeting, I won’t live forever and you need to know how to run a country before then, and all the study of politics won’t help without practice.”
“I know dad and I promise I’ll be there for the next meeting you go to.” Gilda said as she walked away to the market. Twilight noticed that Gilda seemed significantly tamer than the last time she was here. This was very suspicious so Twilight decided to follow her for a while to see if Gilda was up to something.
Too bad for that plan as Gilda flew off only a few seconds after walking away from her father.
Rainbow Dash was as usual lounging on a cloud after a rather short work day as weather manager, the sun was high in the sky warming her as she snoozed, the air was cool and relaxing. Then somepony had the bright idea to interrupt her peace by talking to her.
"Excuse me miss I just flew to this town from Detrot would you kindly point me in the direction of town hall?" Dash look at the speaker, the Pegasus stallion was grey with yellow-green eyes. His cutie mark was a burning rattle snake in an oddly familiar looking green fire.
“It’s the circular building in the center of town.” Rainbow said lazily waving her hoof in the general direction of the building.
“Thank you miss … oh my I forgot to ask your name.”
“Rainbow Dash”
“Yes, thank you Rainbow Dash. My name is Gr-, Adder.”
“Nice to meet you Adder.”
The pegasus flew off to the town hall leaving Rainbow to continue her nap. Unfortunately for her the universe seemed to want her to stay fully conscious. That or it was just interrupt Rainbow’s sleep day, which, according to Pinkie, was possible.
Suffice it to say suddenly being grabbed by a griffon and being pleaded to for forgiveness was really surprising.
Twilight had begun to walk home again after seeing Gilda fly off (and stressing about it for a few minutes) when a grey pegasus stallion landed next to her.
“Hello, um would you happen to know why there are royal guards outside the town hall?” Adder asked Twilight
“The Ceasar of The Griffon Empire is in there, probably with Celestia.” Twilight turned to the stallion, “Why do you ask?”
“Oh I just moved here and I wanted to acquaint myself with the layout of the town by just wandering around, like I’m doing now with you.” The pegasus turned to look at Twilight “Where are you going anyways since I seem to be walking you there?”
“Just to the town library. I live there after all along with being the librarian and practicing advanced magic.” Twilight said, a small amount of pride evident in her voice
“I don’t believe I asked your name miss.”
“Oh, I’m Twilight Sparkle.”
The pegasus stopped in his tracks at that “The Twilight Sparkle? Element of Harmony Twilight Sparkle? Personal Student of Princess Celestia, Twilight Sparkle?”
“Do you know another? I know that there’s a chance that somepony else could have the same name, after all my mother shares my first name.”
“I need to go to my new house after all got lots of unpacking to do and other things like that you know.” The stallion said nervously walking away
“Ok see you around.” Twilight said waving to the stallion as he trotted away
The Ponyville train station was one of the busiest in Equestria, it didn't look like much but it had trains going to every major city in the country. Not many trains went to Canterlot with passengers, and fewer carried passengers down the mountain. Though can you really blame them; why would the wealthy noble socialites want to go down to rural Ponyville and associate with the unsophisticated rabble, and why would the hard working up and comers want to be insulted by some ponies who came into their fortune by inheritance, instead of earning it. But today there were two unicorns coming down the mountain; a crimson stallion with a fuse cutie mark, and a dark grey stallion with an explosion cutie mark.
When the train came to a stop in ponyville the red stallion began following the grey one through town as the sun set bringing the town into dusk.
"C'mon Twilight even Fluttershy is coming with us, and it's not like we'll be there all night. You can watch the stars when you get back." Rainbow pleaded to Twilight, Twilight however was more concerned with setting up her telescope so that she could view the stars.
"Rainbow the sky is going to be completely clear tonight and I want to get the most of it. Besides you know me once I get drinking I can't stop myself, better that I stay home tonight."
"Fine Twilight but next time you're gonna join me and Applejack in a drinking contest." Rainbow said as she walked out to meet up with the other four at the new bar.
Twilight took the time to eat a sandwich Spike had made her before leaving to 'watch over' the crusaders at a sleepover, then sat down at her telescope. After a while of star watching she noticed something off with one of the constellations.
Levitating an inked quill and some paper to herself she began writing a letter to the princesses. 'Dear Princess Celestia, and Princess Luna, I was watching the stars a few seconds ago and I noticed that two of the stars in the constellation Gemini were missing. I'm sure it was probably just an error while Luna was creating the night but I know that if it's not fixed some crazy pony is going to come up with some sort of conspiracy theory about evil demon ponies sealed away in the stars.

Princess Celestia finished reading the letter her student had sent her, the information was worrying. But Celestia decided to use this inconvenience to her advantage like she does whenever any problem occurs. Conjuring up a new paper she wrote out a new assignment for her 'project'. Perhaps she should have just left this one to Twilight when she first became the element of magic. Sending the letter to its destination Celestia disbanded the court for the time being, (really at that point it was just Blueblood complaining about that radio mare that made fun of him) and made her way to Luna's tower to brief her sister on the current situation in Ponyville.

I noticed that the first few readers of this have downvoted the story, I would be grateful if anyone would like to tell me what they think of this so far and how I could improve it so that I may make it more enjoyable for anyone reading.
