I could feel pain shoot through me, as I felt myself split away from something. It felt like my skin was being pulled off of me and it only got worse as time passed. Slowly, though, the pain began to fade from my body, leaving me feeling numb and lifeless. Afterwards, I could feel wind fly by me as I felt myself fall into a black abyss that seemed to swallow me into its darkness. The only source of light, that I could see, was a small star shaped twinkle that quickly faded into the darkness around it.
What was this place? Some sort of strange nothingness. This place was odd and creepy at the same time. Darkness all around me and, nothing to show any sign of life or light. Even that small glimmer of light simply faded into darkness, and will possibly never return for me.
I closed my eyes, excepting the fact of no return. Tilting my head back, I found myself falling head first towards a strange circular platform. On it was a picture of a brown pony with a very straight, but messy main. His tail seemed to be wrapped around a video game controller with a sword through it. Something was very familiar about this pony, though. Every detail about him was easy to make out, but something caught my eye about him the moment I saw him. Suddenly, anger began to overwhelm me.
I held out my hoof, feeling a surge of power come over me. Then, a bright, beaming light shot out over my extended hoof, bringing some of that light into my face. I closed my eyes, as the light continued to shine, until it went dark again. I opened my eyes, and turned to look at what was in my hooves. A blade in the shape of a key was in my hoof.
I only looked for a moment, then though it directly at the platform, hitting the brown pony's face. The platform shattered into multi colored glass, and fell into the dark abyss below. Finally, a name for him popped up in my head, echoing as I thought it.
"Liam...” I said. The angry look across my face began to fade as I felt myself fall though the spot the platform was in. The sound of clinking glass around me as I fell.
I shot my eyes open, not realizing that I had shut them. When did I fall asleep? I shifted, lifting myself off the ground to look around me. I was sitting in the middle of a large garden filled with flowers. I looked down, seeing I was sitting in a small patch of grass.
"Where am I?" I asked out loud, knowing no one could hear me. The fact of talking to myself made me feel lonely. Empty. Like I didn't have a purpose. But, don't all ponies have a purpose?
I looked down at my hip, seeing my cutie mark. It was the shape of a tear, colored red with a dark dot in the center. What did it mean? I don't get it at all. Getting up, I, again, looked around the garden, trying to see everything I could.
"Hello!" I yelled. Nothing responded. Only silent echo greeted me. That only pushed the fact of loneliness even more. I was lost, alone, and unable to remember my own name.
Leaving me no choice, I decided to leave the garden, closing the gates behind me as I passed though the entrance. A gust of wind hit me hard, as I entered the center of the street. The entire street, buildings and all were empty to the point of being creepy. The eerie atmosphere surrounding the entire street wasn't helping the fact of being alone. It felt, to me, like there was a hole it my heart, screaming out in pain.
It begs to be filled with happiness, but it refuses to mend, even then. Why can't I feel any source of happiness in me? There should be happiness, joy, and care. But there's nothing. All I can feel is loneliness, anger, and pain.
I walked up to of the empty buildings. A dust cloud flew up slightly off the ground, as I slid the door open with my hoof, entering as I did so. The door closed itself as I let go, bringing my hood down, creating another dusk cloud upon touching the ground. I could hear the clink of an old doorbell as it shut, but it seemed too rusted, and old to make a normal bell sound.
"Hello! Anyone here?" I yelled again, making the room echo. "Strange. Where is everyone?" Saying stuff out loud to me only kept pushing loneliness onto me. I knew if I kept doing it, it would only dig in more. Taking a deep, dust filled breath, and coughing slight, too, I bit my tongue. It should work to keep myself quiet.
I signed, slightly, and continued to trot around inside the building, checking every craves that could fit a living creature. No one was here. It was completely empty, and the rest of the buildings seemed to be the same. Nothing and no one was here. It was completely abandoned.
There isn't even a sign of anyone ever actually being here, at all.
A rain drop flew onto my face, as rain clouds began to form. I looked up, feeling even more fall from the now engulfed sky. Sighing, I kept trotting forward, making sure to not step in a small puddle. I had been trotting around this abandoned town since I finished searching those old, dusty buildings. The only thing I got out of that search was a black rain coat.
Putting on out here would be a bad idea. The clouds above me were beginning to let out more rain, and putting it on out here would risk me getting a cold, and the coat become entirely soaked, thus giving it no use. I should look for a building I can enter, first before anything. I looked side to side, keeping an eye out for a building that didn't have any locks or chains on it. Finally, I spotted an empty shop to my left, and immediately toted for the door.
Pushing the door open, I ran inside before the rain could get any worse. Shook myself dry, and looked around the room, making note of a back door. It was a very small shop. There weren't even any items in the isles, and there were only, about, three isles each. On the other end of the room, right on the counter, sat a large backpack.
Immediately, I trotted up, and looked inside. It was completely empty, and intact.
"This will very useful." I whispered to myself, biting my tongue after I did so. I really did need to stop talking to myself. Turning my head, I looked at the coat hanging on my back. Should I keep going, or should I stay here, and rest for the night? The smartest decision would be to wait out the storm and rest up as much as I can.
I could use the backpack as a pillow, and the coat as a blanket. It seemed like a logical choice, so I got started. Clearing off a patch of dust to lay down on a sum what clean floor. I folded up the backpack, layed it on the, now clear, ground. I lay down on top of the back, and pulled the black coat over the rest of me.
This wasn't the best, but it's what I could manage. Closing my eyes, started to drift off to sleep. The world fading as the ground became a mere feeling to the rest of me.
A loud BOOM erupted from outside, causing me to wake from my dreamless sleep. I quickly picked myself off the ground, and ran for the window. Peering out, I saw a small circle of fire in the middle of the street. Just then, my head started to feel very light, and odd. I propped myself up against the window, and waited for the lighted feeling to fade.
Must have stood up too fast. I turned my head back to the outside, still leaning on the window, and starred at the place where the circle of fire was.
"What kind of weather is this?" I whispered, too tired to stop myself. This was a very unusual type of thunder to create a circle of fire on the ground like that. Just then, another loud BOOM of thunder erupted to the right of the other one, make the exact same circle of fire as before. "What is this?" This thunder didn't make sense. The Thunder didn't flash, or anything.
I could look directly at it, and it doesn't hurt my eyes. I looked up, seeing if I could spot the thing that could cause such a disturbance. There was nothing but dark clouds, which seemed to be glowing slightly blue. Other than that, there was nothing.
"Strange. Very strange." I whispered, again. This time, though, after I finished talking, I bit my tongue, and remained silent.
I have been sitting here for a couple hours, watching the sky, trying to see what could be causing the thunder, but, so far, I haven't seen anything, at all. Nothing to believe this was out of the ordinary for this place. That sparked a question in my head. What is this place?
Surprisingly, I haven't asked that before. Not that I can remember. I sat here for a couple of moments, thinking about it, and still no answer. Finally, after the hour of sleeplessness, I finally made the decision to head back to bed, and think about this when I'm awake. I got up, and headed back to my sleeping area.
I slumped my face into the bag, and pulled the coat over the rest of my body. I shut my eyes, and felt myself drift away into sleep.
