AppleDash : The way it is.
"Sis, hey sis!" a small voice said. Applejack moaned "What do ya' want Applebloom? Can't c'ha tell am' tryin' to sleep?" Applebloom shook Applejack once more with her hoof "Okay, but I just wan'ed ta' tell you that am' going outside, okay?" Applejack flipped her head over to face Applebloom "Now, why did you wake me up when..." Applejack looked at the time "Appleboom! Why did you wake me up at 6:00 in the morn'ng?" Applebloom blushed "I have a meeting with the Cutie Mark Crusaders." She said proudly. Applejack grabbed her hat off the dresser and put it on her head "Now, what are Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo doin' up so early?" Applejack asked. Applebloom rolled her eyes "I have a meetin'!" She replied with a sly smirk. Applejack stared at her sister coldly "okay." she muttered "But this better not happen again. Will it?"
"Never!" Applebloom said reassuringly. Applejack took her hoof and 'bopped' her over the head "Now, ya' better go n' brush yer' mane" she giggled "It's a mess!" Applebloom quickly left Applejack's room, only to run back in. "Thank you!" she squeaked, then running out of Applejack's room, into the bathroom. Applejack looked outside at the rising sun, it was beautiful. I might as well start workin' early.. she thought.
Applejack trotted down the stairs into the kitchen, she then opened the door to the apple farm, the red apples practically glowing. Applejack went up to one, the barrels were already set up from yesterday. Applejack reared her hind legs, the tree shook as Applejack kicked it, making the apples fall straight into the barrels. Applejack walked to the second tree, looking at it. In the distance, she saw Applebloom racing outside of the house, Applejack tipped her hat to her, and she nodded in response. Applejack studied the tree, it was a big one. She turned around and reared her hind legs, but then put them back down when she heard a noise.
"Hello?" she called. "Applebloom? Big Mac? Granny?" She looked around another few times. "Yo, Applejack!" She heard a familiar voice call from above. Applejack looked upwards. It was Rainbowdash, her wings flapping as she was just hovering above Applejack. Applejack rolled her eyes "What do you want?" she asked. Rainbowdash slowly landed herself in front of Applejack "What do you mean? I thought we were friends?" she said slyly. "And besides, it looks like you'd like some help." Applejack scoffed "I don't need no help. Especially not from you." Rainbowdash smiled "Why? You to good for me? Well, sorry Applejack, you're never gunna get better than this." Applejack stared into Rainbowdash's eyes hard "What in tarnation do you mean by that?" Applejack said coldly. Rainbowdash's eyes widened a bit. "I mean that I was trying to be nice." Rainbowdash said, just as cold as Applejack.
They stared at each other for a while.
Applejack shook her head. "Well, I guess you can help. But just this once! I don't want y'all to be in my business all the darn time"
"No problem" She said "So, which ones can I help you with?" Applejack stammered. "Why are y'all bein' nice to me all the sudden?"
"What do you mean 'all the sudden'? Aren't I always nice?" Rainbowdash asked. "No. Yer' usually full of yerself." Applejack asked.
Rainbowdash laughed "Never!" she giggled. "That's only because I act like that when I'm with other ponies." Rainbowdash took a step closer to Applejack, being more serious. "But, most ponies don't know me at all. Even when they are my closest friend." Applejack looked at Rainbowdash in confusion, it was hard to understand what she was saying.
Rainbowdash looked at the ground and sat. "Applejack. I'm confused. A-and I don't know who to talk to so.. I'll talk to you." Applejack sat, listening, her eyes still locked on Rainbowdash. "Okay, Applejack. First things first. I like mares." Applejack's eyes widened in shock
she didn't know what to say or do, all she could do was listen. "Is it that weird? I- I'm sorry." Rainbowdash said, her voice harsh and dry, as if someone died. "N-no! Not weird, not at all." Applejack said, trying to sound as if she expected that. Rainbowdash looked up at Applejack, her eyes flickering with hope, but also with sadness and heartbreak. "Oh my Celestia. I'm sorry, If I hurt yer feelings I just.."
Rainbowdash smiled weakly "No, you didn't." she said "W-what about you? What's your gender preference?"
Applejack winced. "I don't know." she muttered. Her voice suddenly shaky. "I never really thought about it."
Rainbowdash looked at her. "Really?" she said. "Yeah.." Applejack replied. "I mean I've' have had crushes here and there but, ya know.."
Does Rainbowdash like me? Applejack thought. Why else would she want to know?
"What kind of crushes?"
"What?" Applejack said loudly
"Y-you said you had crushes.. What kind of crushes?"
"O-oh, yeah, sorry, just ah- zoned out, I guess.." Applejack said awkwardly "Ahem, Well, there was this one pony, a stallion, his name was Mimic, he was a black and white. Didn't last long. Then there's..." Applejack paused "Star Hopper. She was a bright yellow mare. Very sweet. she lasted a bit longer." Rainbowdash's eyes lit up when she heard the word 'mare'. "So, you like both, then?" she asked.
Applejack thought for a few seconds "Yeah, I think, why?"
"Oh, I just wanted to know." Rainbowdash said, trying to sound cool.
Applejack noticed Rainbowdash's face was getting a bit red.
"You okay RD?" Applejack asked.
Rainbowdash swayed side to side a bit
"Oh, yeah, fine! My wings just hurt, that's all."
Applejack smiled and stood up, she walked around Rainbowdash and sat. She then put her hoof on her feathers, rubbing it
Applejack could hear Rainbowdash muffling a scream, Applejack then put her other hoof on Rainbowdash's other wing, sending a shiver down Rainbowdash's back. Rainbowdash tried to hold another muffled scream, but half came out.
"Oops, sorry! did I do somethin'?" Applejack asked.
"Heh, nope!" Rainbowdash said "It's just, a pegasus wing is the second most SensITIVE part of the body beside, you know!"
Applejack lifted her hoofs from Rainbowdash's wings "So I was basically touching your..."
"YEAH."
"oh...OH." Applejack said, her face was now red in embarrassment.
Applejack quickly sat in front of Rainbowdash, her face also red.
"uh..." Rainbow said awkwardly
"Let's never tell anypony." Applejack said quickly.
