Following the defeat of King Sombra, the Crystal Empire has known only peace. The kingdom happily ruled by Princess Cadence and protected by Captain of the Royal Guard Shining Armor. However, peace can make one complacent. When a mysterious figure appears and begins to attack the guards of the Crystal Empire, Shining Armor takes the lead in the investigation in order to put a stop to the assailant. After discovering the attacker's identity, Shining Armor finds a challenge much harder than he ever expected.

Would theoretically take place between seasons three and four.
