"Why in the world did you not let me know that you were gonna be hanging out with that dude for the whole entire day!?" Vinyl was in a rage. Octavia shrank back into the corner. Her face was burning. She had been so infatuated with Clarence that she forgot to let Vinyl know she was going to be late for lunch.

"I had this whole thing planned out! After your date, which, by the way, was supposed to be two hours or something, we would go to lunch at the sushi place! And then you bailed on me!"

Tears welled up in the corners of Octavia's eyes. "I'm so sorry, Vinyl. I just got distracted. Please forgive me."

"Well, if you weren't going to show up, couldn't you have let me know?" Vinyl's voice got softer. "I thought... I thought something had happened to you. I was worried."

Octavia looked up to see her friend, a normally rough-and-tumble DJ, with matching tears streaming from her eyes. Then she hugged her with all her might. "Vinyl, I would usually have let you know, but I got really distracted. Can you forgive me? Please?"

"On one condition. Next time, you gotta call me."

Deep red blush appeared on Octavia's cheeks. "I don't know if I can keep that promise."

Vinyl raised an eyebrow. "Why not?"

"Because... because I think I have a crush on him!" It all came tumbling out so fast that she barely had time to register it.

"Well then, I think that deserves a party."

"Vinyl!"

The rest of the night was spent with Vinyl blasting music at top volume and shouting out the window, "Tavi has a coltfriend! Tavi has a coltfriend!"

The first thing Octavia did when she woke up was leave a note to Vinyl explaining the consecutive date. Then she dashed out the door and hopped on the Friendship Express. Arriving at Canterlot, she noticed that Clarence was already at the train station waiting for her. When she stepped out he said, "Where do you want to go?"

Octavia replied, "How about a tour?"

They walked in and out of the spiraling, curving buildings of Canterlot, Clarence commentating the whole time. "This is the grand statue of     Princess Celestia, it's been here for ages... Over here is the Golden Pine Hotel, my symphony once played here..." It lasted well until after the sun had set. Luckily, Octavia had sent a note to Vinyl. Otherwise, another blowup could occur.

Suddenly, the two musicians stopped at a beautiful ledge. Below, they could see the lights of the bustling cities below. She could see Ponyville, the Unicorn Range, and floating in the serene night air, Cloudsdale. It was absolutely breathtaking. Clarence smiled, and again Octavia's heart melted into a little puddle. "This is the special spot where I'm going to have my first kiss."

Then he leaned over and gave her a full, long kiss. The world swirled with color. It was the greatest feeling in the world. Almost like she was floating. Clarence slowly pulled away. "Octavia, will you be my marefriend?"

Nothing could come close to the euphoria Octavia felt. "Yes!"
