Meet me by the tower

Chapter 1

Darkness flooded the entire room, yet the moonlight showered a majority of it.

The two connected together in harmony regardless of their major differences.

The match sustained and they were perfect together.

I think it's funny, I guess the saying 'opposites attract' is pretty true.

Though I've never thought about it too much.

I stuck my head out the glassless window to get the wind flowing through my mane ever so gently. The room was cold, not too cold though. I pressed my hooves onto the cloud wall just to feel its softness.

And finally the sun started to rise inch by inch, the light caressed the many trees and grassland below my home. The sky around the great source of light started to change colors as it rose. The stars sprinkled along the edges were starting to fade out of view, which is a shame since I like seeing them.

They were the delicate touch of the night sky that were gentle yet bold.

Sunlight began to caress the surfaces of the greenery below as every minute passed. The rose pink light of dawn cascaded amongst the sky to signal first light to every passerby. Day light emerged and tightened its grip on every object who dared be in the presence of the mighty sun.

The sky converted into a array of colors, till it finally reached a satisfactory shade of blue. Azure to be exact.

In all honesty I prefer the night.

I know, my friends and I defeated nightmare moon just to get day back.... But I prefer the night.....

It's difficult to explain, nopony would believe me since I do so much during the day.

In the morning, like everypony else, I've got a routine.

Work day routines and weekend routines differ each other though.

Today happened to be a work day, oh joy.

Even though I have work, I always find some time to relax without anyone noticing my absence. It's pretty rad, I know.

I averted my gaze over to my bathroom,

"Time to start the day...."

I said to myself as I stretched out my wings.

Before I stepped hoof into the restroom,

I continued to stretch out my body in each joint.

Afterwards I followed through with getting into the shower.

I checked the amount of shampoo the bottle contained,

y'know in case if I had to buy more.

I never really bought those scented ones,

I'm not a fancy pony.

At least this one gets the job done.

I shut my eyes as I drove my hoof into the roof of the shower/cloud causing a warm shower to spray all over my frame.

Only now I noticed how silent it was,  the serenity had really gotten to me.

Though even though I enjoyed being alone in the dark room as the warm water sprayed onto me, a part of me desired more.

I've been meaning to get a roommate to maybe liven the place up, but I don't think it'd really work.

I'm a solo pony after all,

a leader.

'Leader of what?...'

The thought came into my mind causing me to freeze,

it was a pretty scary thought.

No matter how much I hated to admit it,

I didn't really have anything to lead.

My purpose?

No clue,

but there's no need to be depressed about it.

Right?

After showering I continued with the routine and flew over to the coffee shop and got something to keep me going.

I always order a regular coffee,

something I can afford.

You're probably thinking that I'm either simple or poor,

well I guess the first one might just be true and I'm not poor.

I'm thrifty.

I sat in my favorite tree right below the large area of cloudsdale,

great for napping.

Sunlight shone within the trees countless leaves and it hugged me affectionately.

Mornings are nice, sometimes.

Today was surprisingly not one of those times.

I checked the time and realized I was two hours late.

"Buck!" I yelled so loud that I bet every filly in cloudsdale knows the word thanks to good ol' me. I dashed off and after a few good minutes I made it to the weather factory for the last time. Oh yeah sorry, I guess that's a spoiler.

I thought working at the weather factory was pretty cool actually, yeah it may sound weird. Me liking work? I know, but color's like my life. My name is Rainbow Dash after all. Plus y'know, it's my cutie mark and the color of my mane.

I just chill out a lot, but I guess the idea of this place is nice.

When I got there, everyone was avoiding eye contact with me.

I've been late before though, did something happen??

"Boss wants to see you..." A orange mare said to me under her breathe, she looked nervous and maybe a bit sad? I've see her before, we talk and fly together.

But that wasn't important at that moment.

My hooves didn't even touch the soft cloud floor as I made my way to the office of my boss. The whole situation was startling me and I didn't like it.

All eyes were on me, usually I'd like that.... But now?

No way.

I swung open the door to meet the face of a large gruff pony.

He was a deep blue Pegasus who had no mane whatsoever.

His mane would be white, cause his facial hair did not cease to grow.

His gaze was pointed in my direction, I think he was disappointed.

"I'm sorry I was late...."

We stayed silent, eye contact never departed.

"I-it won't happen again.... Promise...."

I tried to ease the situation with a smile, I managed but it came out weakly.

A deep sigh escaped his chapped lips as he averted my gaze.

"I know you won't."

Any other time I would've dismissed it, but the way he said it so nonchalantly ate away at my confidence.

"Pack up your things and go Miss Dash."

I paused for a moment, before I could do anything rational I just started yelling.

"Why?!" My voice had been shaking a bit, I didn't know where else to go.

"Miss Dash, don't you agree you like to relax from time to time? Far too often actually. There's been multiple claims of you slacking off during your shifts, it's messing with the weather patterns!"

He made a point, but I'm not the type of pony to calm down during a heated argument.

"I'm the best of the best!" I shouted at the older male as I slammed my hoof onto his desk, "I keep the order around here! I'm the fastest Pegasus around! I get the job done!" I growled out to him, my eyes narrowing as the venomous words seep from lips. "You'll never find another pony like me!" I hissed.

Just to prove my point, I pushed all the contents from the top of his desk onto the floor. I didn't even see his reaction, it would probably have made me angrier. I just stomped out of the office, and eventually the wether factory avoiding the eyes of my many ex coworkers.

What a day.
