Thank You Creatureby kales214ChaptersIt's a bird, it's a plane, its a...creature?Bye Bye Predictable Life Good Night, Sleep TightIt's a bird, it's a plane, its a...creature?It was a cold April and pooring rain. Maze Search was doing paperwork. It was always paperwork, meetings, and research. It was always peace and quite in the house of one, and Maze was always spending all nighters working. Maze wanted to believe having a completely predictable life was a good thing, and that's what she always told herself every day. Not having to worry about things blowing up in her face at last minute. So why did she always question herself. Mazes Search sighed, being alone was suppose to be a good thing. That's why she had moved so far away from ponyville. Although getting to work was a pain and had to get up early to get there on time. She had a lot of assignment given to her today because one of her co-workers got sick. Maze work ended up staying up all night only to have to wake up really early due to the distance between her house and work. Maze couldn't go to bed even if she wanted to because of the white bands around her legs glowed and kept her awake, although they never really glowed that bright. Maze worked the rest of the night. The next morning Maze got packed up and got on a cab to go to work. Maze looked out the window, she thought about what it would be like to have a unpredictable life but quickly brushed away the thought. Maze looked at the clouds, they were clumped together over head in a dark shade of gray. Maze assumed there would be a storm. While she was gazing up she saw a little. She looked closer, it was starting to get bigger. The white bands around Mazes legs where glowing brighter. They had never done that before, but then again the light coming straight for her wasn't typical either. Now it was obvious the light was aiming for the cab. "Go faster!" Maze yelled. "Uh," the cab driver responded. "Just do it!" She damanded. So he did, Maze kept her eyes on the light is was getting faster. Maze shut her eyes as the light crashed. Maze started coughing from all the dust, at least it didn't hit them directly. Maze couldn't see much thought to dust but saw that the once light was a blue spiky ball. The cab driver was now running back the way they came. Maze got up and slowly walked towards the ball. Her bands sort of acted like a lamp and light her way through the dust. Maze wasn't an astronomer but she was pretty sure meteors weren't blue and spiky. Maze touched it and it uncurled to have arms and legs like a monkey. It's head was the shape of a triangle, andhad whisker like strands down it back and forehead. It's eyes where the size of her hooves. "Its a creature," Maze said confused. Maze felt like such an Idiod. She was walking to work with a creature that just fell out of the sky, and she was late for work. She didn't even know why she picked in up, she didn't know what to do with it. She couldn't raise it she didn't have the time, and she wouldn't be able to concentrate with an animal in the house. She could always give it to so pony else, but she didn't know or trust anyone that could take care of an animal. As she entered ponyville she saw a yellow pink haired pony playing with a bunch of woodland creatures. She looked like she knew a lot about them and was good with animals. "Hello," Maze said as she walked up to her. The pony froze. "I..." She muttered "Hey you look like you have a way with animals, do you think you could take care of this?" Maze held out the creature getting right to the point. "I'd love too" The pony said enthusiastically. "Great" Maze handed her the Creature. Maze Search left without another word. She went straight to work without looking back once. Bye Bye Predictable Life Bye Bye Predictable Life Maze Search could barely focus at work that day even after her boss had yelled at her for being late and a mess for that matter. She couldn't stop thinking about Creature, she had grown attached to calling it Creature so she sort of thought of it as his name. Not that it would matter he was gone and she had to focus on work. After work Maze walked home, after what happened with the cab she decided walking would be the best option. When she got there she started working, but she just couldn't stop wondering if Creature was okay. Maze started to get irritated, why couldn't see stop thinking of him. He was just a creature who had happened to fall out of the sky at the exact moment she was passing by! "UGH!" Maze yelled and kicked her desk, papers flew all over. She fell back into her chair for a minute and was about to pick them up when she heard a know on the door. Nobody ever came to her house so why was someone at the door now. Maze opened the door, it was the pony she had gave creature too, had she was holding creatures! Crap, she probably got bored of him or got annoyed of him and was tiring to give him back. "Hello, thank you for letting me take care of him he's such a cutie." She said. "Wait what?" Maze said confused. "Uh? I took care of him like you asked," she exclaimed. Things made a little more since to maze now, she probably thought she wanted her to take care of her temporarily "Oh yes, well thanks." Maze said taking Creature into her arms, she couldn't tell her she didn't want him now. "Oh and you didn't tell me your names, I'm Flutter Shy." She explained "I'm Maze Search and this is Creature, umm can I ask you something?" Maze couldn't believe she was asking this. "Of course, anything" she said. "Okay umm, how do you take care of him." Maze couldn't believe she was actually going to waste her time raising this creature. "Oh I can tell you everything if you want you can come to my cottage to get the supplies," Flutter Shy said. Wait, was she actually considering saying yes. "Sure" Maze thought she was crazy she must have been she had all this work to do and she said she would go to this girls house to get supplies to raise a pet which would consume yet even more of her time! Oh no, Oh oh, Oh no, this was so unlike Maze! she seriously had a whole stack of paperwork at home why was she here. Inside Flutter Shy's house there where woodland creatures everywhere. Maze wondered she ever concentrated on anything or even sleep at night. Flutter Shy handed Maze a bag of green pallets and a lot of other stuff she didn't even bother trying to figure what were. Flutter Shy exclaimed that Maze should play with Creature regularly and maze tried to object but she just kept telling her a lot of stuff about raising a pet. Maze never knew that having a pet could be so complicated , but then again Creature wasn't exactly a normal pet. Once Maze was home she ignored the stack of paperwork and put some of the food Flutter Shy gave her in a bowl and gave it to Creature who at one point climbed up her leg and was now on her back. Creature nibbled a little bit and started singing a beeping sound as lights all over its body lite up on beat. Maze gazed in wonder at the light show and didn't give it much thought, because there was obviously a lot of things she still didn't know about Creature and she knew they would be revealed soon. Maze went to her desk and started working. Good Night, Sleep TightThe next morning Maze woke up to the sweet chirp of birds. Wait it was morning and she woke up, which means she fell asleep last night. Maze never slept, never! Oh no, it was morning and she was going to be late to work with a bunch of unfinished work. Maze gathered her papers and quickly stuffed them into her bag. She grabbed Creature and ran out the door. Maze ran as fast as she could and almost fell forward when she made it to Flutter Shy's house. She knocked on the door impatiently, Flutter Shy opened the door. "Can you watch Creature," Maze said quickly. "Shu..." Flutter shy started but Maze was gone and Creature sat in her place. When maze got to work she went through the doors panting to be greeted with the always welcoming face of her boss. Maze sat at her desk writing rapidly, her boss had given her yet more paperwork as punishment for being late. He said that this was her 'last warning' which meant she would have to go to drastic measures if she didn't want to be fired, she had to get an alarm clock. Maze never before this considered getting an alarm clock because she never slept. When she was still a filly the kids at school would call her a vampire because of it, that's why she never thought about getting friends as an adult because she didn't have any as a filly. Maze kept writing, she noticed it actually felt pretty good get some rest her skin was glowing like her bands (though not as much) and she didn't have the dark circles under her eyes. That day Maze got all her paperwork done. After work Maze went to buy an alarm. When she got home she set up the alarm clock and waited patiently for Flutter Shy to come by with Creature. As she waited she pondered the idea of 'play'. Flutter Shy had told her to play with Creature, and when she thought about it he did sleep a lot of the time it would probably be good for him. When Creature got home Maze started right away. Maze dug through the bag of things Flutter Shy had givin her. She found a bouncy ball and the through it, Creature ignored it. She found a frisbee and tossed it, Creature ignored it too. Maze rummaged through the bag looking for something Creature would like, then she found a metal rod. She found a button and pressed it, a bright light shined in her eyes and she quickly redirected it to the floor. The light got Creatures attention and he got up, he started to sing and light up. Maze found the button again and pressed it, the light turned off and Creature stopped singing and glowing as well. It was as if he was responding to it. Maze pressed the button on and off making a pattern. Creature imitated it through song and light just like yesterday. Maze wasn't sure if this counted as ‘playing’ but it was enjoyable. They went one like that a little longer, Maze making the pattern and Creature making it more enjoyable though his light show. Then Creature climbed on her back and then both fell asleep.
