While many emigrants of Istallia went on to find honest work in Equestria, many more slipped through the cracks. In absence of light comes darkness, in absence of honest work comes crime. Forlorn Night has had life rough. When his home country was razed to the ground, Equestria offered asylum to his people. After his father died, Forlorn fell into the wrong crowd, doing whatever it takes to put food on the table. When offered a way to provide better for his family, Forlorn takes the opportunity even as it drags him deep into the Manehattan underworld. As each job is finished he loses a part of his soul he can never replace.
