As Twilight woke up, she saw that the girl that had taken her upstairs was sitting on a chair, looking at some sort of red device with an open screen. As she closed the screen, she looked at Twilight and smiled.

"Morning."

"Morning?" Twilight said, confused.

"It's around Seven AM. You slept through dinner."

"What about Breakfast?"

"Mason's Mom is still cooking. She sent me to get you up. The others are downstairs." she said.

"Thanks...."

"Grace."

"Grace." Twilight said as she got out of bed, and as Grace stood up, Twilight saw her bag next to the bedpost. As she picked it up, Grace nodded, and began to walk downstairs. As Twilight followed, she saw that the rest of the group were sitting on a couch, watching some sort of screened device. What looked like a large coffin, with four arms and a strange black and purple creature clad in bows were holding some sort of paddle in the air and hitting a ball back and forth was emblazoned on the screen.

"What's on?" Grace asked, leaning on the sofa.

"Big stadium. A Cofagrigus and a Gothitelle are dealing it out in Table Tennis." A boy said. He was wearing a blue jacket, with black pants. A red cap rested on his head, and he wore red sneakers. A group of bags rested on the table. Twilight sat down at the table as she watched Sophie cook some sort of blue berries into a meal of some sort, then ladled the meal into bowls, then put each bowl at a spot on the table. As Twilight waited, the others eventually sat down. As they began to eat, Twilight tasted the meal, then began to eat.

"So, Theresa, where are you from?" Mason said. "I've been wondering that for a while now."

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you." Twilight replied.

"Really? We could tell you a few things that you wouldn't believe, and in return, you tell us a few things about yourself." The red-capped boy said with a laugh.

"Well, shoot." Twilight said.

"I saved the Unova region from complete and utter destruction at the hands of Team Plasma." the boy said.

"Get out of here!" Twilight said.

"He's not kidding, Theresa. I saved Kanto from Team Rocket." Grace said.

"So did I! Well, I saved Johto, but It was still Team Rocket!" another girl said.  She was wearing a white cap, a red shirt, blue shorts, white socks, and red shoes. She had an eager face.

"I beat Team Magma! Top that!" Mason said with a grin.

"I beat Team Galactic and saved FIVE Legendary Pokemon in one shot!" The beret boy said.

"I beat Team Flare and destroyed a super-weapon, and saved an ancient king!" A final boy said. He was wearing a red cap, hiking boots, a short-sleeved blue jacket, and black pants. Twilight also noticed that they all were wearing a cuff or bracelet imbued with some sort of clear stone, with some sort of sigil inside it.

"Wow. That is a pretty impressive list of accomplishments." Twilight said, shocked at their feats.

"Well, we held up our end of the deal, so what about you?" Mason said, leaning in.

"I'm an alien." Twilight said.

"Wow. That...was...unexpected." Grace said, with a shocked expression on her face.

"Yep. I'm a pony from Equestria. My real name's Twilight Sparkle, but you can still call me Theresa. I guess it fits more in this world."

"Really? That was...underwhelming." Grace said. "But, since we know your names, I guess it;s fair you know ours." She pointed a the beret boy.

"Nate."

Nate smiled.

Then at the boy with the jacket.

"Matthew."

Matthew tipped his cap.

Then at the boy with the red cap.

"Chase."

Chase gave her a thumbs-up.

Then at the girl with the red hat.

"Abigail."

Abigail laughed.

"Well, thanks." Twilight said. "I'm also a princess."

If the alien statement hadn't shocked them, this  one did. Mason fell back in his chair. Nate's mouth dropped. Chase put his palm to his face and snickered. Grace rolled her eyes and laughed. Abigail hung her head and smiled.

"What?" Twilight said.

"And we though that being an alien was surprising." Grace said in between fits of laughter.

Mason was the first to speak.

"That was really surprising. What's a alien pony princess doing here?" he asked.

"Arceus brought me here. he said he's had little reason to trust humans since you developed what he called the Pokeball, and he wanted me to change that."

"Arceus?" Nate said, confused.

"Yeah. He's actually a pretty nice being."

"So, now that you're here, what are you gonna do?" Abigail said.

"Well, I don't know." Twilight replied.

"You could always go on a Pokemon Journey, like we did. I mean, Professor Birch's lab is here in Littleroot Town, and he has a few Pokedexes left. Being a Pokemon Trainer might not be a bad idea." Mason said.

"That actually sounds good to me. Problem is, I don't know a lot about Pokemon." Twilight said with a sigh.

"Allow us to educate you!" Nate said.

"Did I miss anything?"

Twilight looked and saw Sophie, who was carrying a shopping bag. At the moment she said it, every trainer in the room, except Twilight, immediately fell to the floor with a groan.

"I missed something, did I?" Sophie said, anxious.

"Not really." Twilight said with a laugh.

As Everyone settled themselves down, Twilight sat on the bed, next to Grace, who put her hand to Twilight's shoulder in a reassuring way.

"Well, Pokemon 101. Let's get started." Mason said. "Pokemon are the creatures that inhabit this world, and we work, play and live alongside them. Some live in groups, others alone. Some swim in the seas, some fly in the skies, some live deep in the forests, caves, mountains, what have you We still think that there are Pokemon out there we haven't discovered yet. Pokemon are all unique, either being male or female, and some being neither male or female." Mason said.

"Neither?"

"Yeah. Pokemon such as nearly every Legendary Pokemon, the Beldum, Bronzor, Baltoy, Porygon, Cryogonal, Golett, Voltorb, Klink, Magnemite, and Staryu evolution lines, as well as Shedinja, Carbink, and a few others are genderless." Chase said.

"Evolution?" Twilight asked, confused.

"Most Pokemon, when a certain condition, or conditions, are met, such as friendship with the Trainer, exposure to certain evolution stones, receiving a certain item, learning a certain move, trading between trainers, trading while holding an item, exposure to weather, or by leveling up in battle, change into a new Pokemon completely. For example, A Turtwig, when it reaches level 16, evolves into Grotle, and then into Torterra at level 36. A Pokemon's level is the term we use for how strong a Pokemon is. Pokemon, when they evolve, can learn new moves, gain a new type or change types completely, and change their stats or Effort Values, or EVs. Stats and EVs being their key attributes of strength, which are Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed." Matthew said.

"What's the difference between special attack and defense, and regular attack and defense?" Twilight said.

"Good question. Special attack and attack determine the damage done by Physical and Special attacks, and Special defense and Defense reduce damage taken from those attacks. A physical attack directly touches the opponent, while a special attack deals projectile damage. Some moves, which we call status moves, don't deal damage directly. They often boost stats, evasiveness, accuracy, or inflict status conditions such as poison, burns, paralysis, sleep, freezing, or confusion. They are most often used to boost the user or decrease the effectiveness of the opponent." Nate said.

"Wow. You mentioned types. What are those?" Twilight asked.

"Each Pokemon has a type or a special characteristic. Each type has strengths and weaknesses, and some are immune to attacks for a certain type. The types are FIRE, WATER, GRASS, ICE, FLYING, ROCK, GROUND, STEEL, POISON, FIGHTING, NORMAL, FAIRY, DARK, PSYCHIC, ELECTRIC, BUG, GHOST and DRAGON. Fairy is immune to Dragon, Steel is immune to Poison, Ground is immune to Electric, Normal is immune to Ghost, Ghost is immune to Normal AND Fighting and Flying is immune to Ground." Abigail said.

"Dragon? Ghost?" Twilight said, a bit scared.

"They only share the Characteristics of dragons or ghosts, they aren't actually dragons or ghosts." Grace said quickly, reacting fast.

"Thanks. One of my friends is scared of Dragons, so that would make it difficult." Twilight said sheepishly.

"It's okay. But, back to the subjects at hand. The thing is, Pokemon aren't peaceful. They fight. And we battle with them as partners."

"You make them fight?" Twilight said, slightly abhorred.

"We don't MAKE them, Twilight. They choose to battle with us as partners and friends, and it's accepted into our culture. Besides, in order to challenge the Elite Four and the Champion of each region, you need to battle and win against every city or town's Gym Leader. There are alternatives to Pokemon battling though. The Contest Spectaculars in Kanto, Sinnoh, and Hoenn all revolve around showing off Pokemon, and not battling them. Poke-Ringer, Safaris, and other events can serve as side-paths to battling, but it's generally the main thing we do with our Pokemon."

"I see." Twilight replied.

"Well, Twilight, we could continue, but I believe the best way to learn is to learn is to learn hands on. Professor Birch's lab is here in Littleroot Town. Why not grab a Pokedex and become a trainer?" Mason said.

"That actually sounds like a plan!" Twilight said, and everyone laughed.
