The Journey
The Start
Load Full StoryOur story starts at a middle school called Benton Middle School; a 6th grader by the name of Keegan was talking to his some of his friends, “I honestly don’t know why some people don’t like the game,” Keegan commented. Keegan and his buddies were talking of the latest video game series out called, Five Nights at Freddy’s, and were discussing how some people flat out hated the game. They loved the game, all of his friends, in fact.
“Yeah, sure sometimes people do get too scared from it, like us….” Keegan’s friend, Preston, agreed but still put an argument about why people didn’t like it, ‘So maybe people don’t like it because of that,’
“Really Preston are you trying to practice for that argumentum project that’s coming up soon? Because you like the game just as much as I do!” Keegan retorted.
Preston remained quiet for a minute, “… Maybe,” He sheepishly said. Preston started to scratch the back of his head, “I guess its instinct I want to keep my good grades!” Preston said with a shrug.
Keegan shrugged back at stretched his arms,” I think we should started heading to 3rd period,” Keegan smiled. He started to walk to class along with his other friends, Sierra, Logon, Travis, and Preston. As they were walking the ground started to rumble and roll a bit, causing an earthquake bell to ring, “Oh no RUN!” Keegan shouted the second he realized what was happing.
“OH REALLY NOW?” Logon sarcastically said as he started to run. As Keegan was a bit irritated by what Logon said but wasn’t going to argue at this time. Everyone had started to run at that point but one by one they fell down and passed out.
Keegan groaned as he tried to get up but fell right back down, “Uh… guys what happened?” He asked as he looked around to see all of his friends were still out cold, “Jeez what happened?” Keegan asked, to no one in particular as he tried to get up again and was successful this time. He looked around to see that everyone’s backpacks looked lighter than usual, like they were almost empty…. Keegan ran his fingers though his blonde hair sighing, “Okay what’s going on?” Keegan hadn’t looked in the area around him yet, when he did, he noticed his surroundings and he saw he was in a heavily vegetated forest, “What the…?” Keegan was baffled. How did he and his friends get in a forest? What happened after the earthquake? Keegan shook his head pushing the questions out of his head. He, one by one woke his friends up. After everyone was up Keegan said, “So… does anyone know what happened? Everyone shook they’re head,
“Not in slightest,” Sierra mumbled.
“Nope,” Logon shrugged.
“Who knows?” Preston asked back.
“For that matter who cares?” Travis asked. Everyone glared at him, “What?”
“Anyways… maybe we should get moving?” Keegan asked after everyone stopped glaring at Travis. Everyone nodded, “Let’s go then!” Keegan said as he started walking in one solid direction as everyone followed.
Keegan had gotten a bit irritated from having to listen to everyone complain about how they’re legs were tired from walking so long, “Look guys this would go by so much faster if you all would stop complaining!” Keegan almost shouted because he was so fed up after an hour of walking and hearing the complaining. Everyone stopped talking for a minute. The silence went on for another good twenty minutes in tell Keegan spotted a red handle in the dirt, “Hey guys look!” Keegan excitedly said as he ran to it and pulled it out of the dirt to reveal a rusty machete with faded red handle, and in carved into the handle and blade was G W. Keegan recognized it instantly, “This is my dad’s machete!”
Everyone was confused instantly, “How is it here then?” Travis quickly responded.
“I don’t know… but I’ll hold on to it, you never know what could happen, wish I had a sheath or some thing to put this into,” Keegan said gripping the handle hard to make sure it didn't slip.
Keegan was practically the defender of the group. When ever a large insect popped up that was a danger to them and others Keegan quickly dealt with it. Soon the group knew they were almost out of the forest. How did they know? Well because they saw the light of day less than five feet in front of them, “We’re almost free!” shouted Logan.
Keegan quickly laughed what Logan had said had cut though the last couple of plant that blocked the way. As he and his friends had gotten out of the forest they saw a little cottage, “Hey guys look! There’s a cottage!” Preston said in excitement.
“Cool but let’s leave it alone,” Sierra said to Preston with her arms crossed. Everyone nodded and moved on. Less than ten minutes later they arrived in a little town that sounded very busy. The buildings had odd shapes and didn’t look anything like a modern day building.
Keegan started to walk closer in to town unknowing what would happen later.
