//-------------------------------------------------------// My Coltfriend is what? -by AmandaCottonBelle- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Leaving again //-------------------------------------------------------// Leaving again Coltfriends. Sure, BonBon has one, as well as Lyra and Derpy Hooves. I did, too. Isn't all that it's cracked up to be, really. They say love should last forever. I just don't think I'll be alive that long. Erik Garcia. That's his name. A cute, short pegasus, always running, his short-cut electric blue mane always flying behind him, his dark-gray coat shimmering in the sun. His big sister Fluttershy cheering him on in races. As he runs away. From me. No, I'm not saying he doesn't like me, he came to me first. He just seems to be, in a hurry, all the time. "Sorry, I-I have to go find Drake". "Amanda, it's late, and um, Drake is cooking for me tonight! Can't stay. Sorry!" "Fluttershy made some tea for me." I sighed, walking up to his doorstep, waiting to hear yet another: "I can only talk for maybe five minutes". It wasn't always like this, of course. But, he just, stopped being around alot.... I knocked on his door, expecting for him to not answer again. To my surprise, he actually opened the door, quite quickly. "Drake?" His once bright eyed were grim and he had a look of shear terror in his face. "Oh, um, Amanda... Um, nice to uh, s-see you here" He twitched for almost half a second, then scratched his mane a bit. There was an awkward silence until he finally spoke again. "Oh, um, look Amanda, I-I REALLY need to go!" "Erik, not again..... It's been almost two weeks since I've seen you for more then a second." " I-i know" "Let me guess. Drake needs you, AGAIN?" I grew a little too impatient, and stomped on his front stoop. "I-I'm sorry." I sniffled a bit, making sure I didn't cry infront of him. Just in case though, I let my dark purple and brown mane go over one of my magenta eyes. Great. I'm his sister's spitting image. Erik put a hoof on my shoulder, a little bit brighter then when he saw me at his house. "Hey, I'll tell you what, the day is still young, Celestia's sun is in the sky! Why I go take you with me to see Drake, then drop you off around 7?" I raised my head up to get my mane out of my face. It was only 5, I figured I could still spend enough time with him. I still regret ever meeting that stupid unicorn. We walked through PonyVille, meeting some friends of ours waving to us. Pinkie Pie, a light-hearted Earthpony, bouncing around the cottages, placing her streamers around PonyVille. We could hear Fluttershy singing as she was trotting, her little ducks in a row. Vinyl Scratch, a white unicorn, in her own cottage, most likely using her, um, "bass canon". "So, is he like, your brother, or something?" I was trotting, a little more joyful then before, letting Octavia Melody's tunes from her cello greet me. "Well, I wouldn't say that. He's not related to me, no." Figured as much. Drake was almost a foot taller then Erik was, and his mane was only a little longer. He had a teal mane, and a light-gray coat. I was actually a little scared when Erik made some sudden taps on the door. "Drake? It's Erik." We heard some clatter from inside, and as he opened the door, chains escaped the doorway. It didn't take a second for him to recognize me, even though my mane was covering my face again. "Erik, why did you bring  her?" "Drake, I haven't seen her in twelve days." I uncovered my face so I could see what was going on. After what seemed like a long time, he used him magic to pick up the chains, and he walked inside so he could let us in. "Well, with all those chains, you must be keeping a monster in the basement or something!" I meant it to be a playful joke, but they stared at me for a second, before Drake put the chains in a bag. I hid my face again, feeling a little stupid and awkward for saying that. "So, you're Erik's marefriend? I expected somepony, erm, more.... bright" I highly doubt he meant "bright" by smart, but probably in personality. I usually am a sprite mare, really talkative. Even more then Pinkie, I'd say. I heard Erik and Drake whispering a bit, I could make out phrases like, "we have no time" or, "we need to hurry". I took that as a sign to leave, so I started walking to the front door, being stopped by a dark-drey hoof. "Amanda, please. Erm, don't leave." He gave me a little smile, so I turned back to walk over to where Drake was sitting. Drake's house was pretty messy, there were papers out of place, even ripped up. I stepped on one, then picked it up to look at it. Erik quickly took it out of my hooves, shocking me. "Uh, sorry. But, you know, um, important stuff, is um, on this paper." So important that it's on the floor, with a big rip in it? Drake got up from his spot on the couch to start grabbing bottles and things from his house. He placed them all in his bag and hauled it to the big coffee-table. "Woah. Monster hunting?" Why do I always talk out of place? Drake just frowned and scowled as Erik, as if he blamed him for taking me here. It felt really awkward, so I looked at the clock to see what time it was. 6:30, not much time left. Erik wrapped a wing around me, hugging me closer to him. I wrapped my hooves around him, feeling the warmth I haven't felt for a while. Drake broke up the romantic moment by tapping on Erik. "Hey, we need to go. Take her home." THANK CELESTIA I got up and walked toward the front door, Erik following behind, sheepishly. "Erik, time is running out" As if he was given chocolate, or Fluttershy walked over, he was walking faster. "If you think you can make it, you can take her home." He knows I can hear him, right? Erik got in front of me and opened the door so I could go out first. "Thanks." "No problem." I trotted outside, the chill air greeting me. Erik walked in front of me, gradually walking faster as if to rush me. I didn't mind, much. "So, Erik, are you both planning something?" He stopped and bit his lower lip, his eyes darting away from me. "Um, yeah. Well, the thing planned us, really." That confused me. But, I was a manner-full pegasus, so I didn't pry like a certain Rainbow Dash would. When we were going up my street, Erik started looking at the sky, alot. He was staring at the night sky, the clouds moving over the moon. "I-I think we should stop here, Amanda. I-I really gotta hurry." I'm not surprised, Erik..... I felt more anger wash over me. He said the same thing, 12 days ago. "No." I said. I didn't even think, I just said it. I regretted it too. "W-what? Amanda, I'm serious. I DO need to leave. Time is running out..." "Running out for what?  I'M serious! I can't take it having to either wait weeks to even speak to you, or only speaking for FIVE SECONDS!" I stomped my hoof on the road, watching him duck back a bit. I also watched him run off, back to Drake's. And that's the last I saw of him that night.
