I stood there in front of my sister Twilight. I was telling her why this was not the way to go. Sadly my words fell on deaf ears. She told me to leave and never return. I was picked up by the guards and they dragged me out of the place I once called home.

Now I was walking in the everfree forest. What happened to the Twilight I used to know. When Celestia disappeared she was fine but after the factions she changed. I still remember what she said, "don't you ever come back, disgusting lizard."

'Yeah, well buck you to!" I was half expecting a answer but none came. I looked up to see I was deep in the forest. " I must have been walking while I was thinking." It was weird how you could walk and not even notice. That is when the situation finally crashed down on me. I sat there and I cried because I lost my only family.

"hello there youngling." It was a man, his beard was white, he had long hair and a blue coat. the weirdest thing I noticed, was the sword at the side of his belt.

um, hello there, who are you?" I asked stuttering a bit.

"well, my name is Blueshine. what is your name?"

"My name is spike." I was wondering what this man wanted.

"what is troubling you spike?" he asked calmly.

"nothing, I don't have a problem."

"Then why were you crying in the middle of the forest?"

"I wasn't crying, those were tears of manliness."

"Sure they were" he snickered. "Well I guess you don't have a place to stay, so do you want to spend the night at my cabin?" I know I should have said no but I felt like I could trust this man. I nodded my head. "Well, then follow me." he lead me to a small cabin. the place was made out of wood and inside there was a fire burning. It probably wasn't the best choice. I  also noticed the back had a training area. I snapped out of my thoughts when he said, "Well make your self at home." The inside was similar to the outside but there was one difference and that was the many swords that decorated the wall. "You like my collection?"

"whoa, how did you get all these swords?" I was amazed.

"it took me a long time to get them."

"Really how long?"

"my whole life."

"that is a really long time, why did you do it?"

"that is a story for another time, but for now we should go to bed."

I looked outside to see the sun was setting. "yeah I guess it is time to go to sleep." he only nodded and started to walk up the stairs. I followed him to a small room. Inside there was a small mattress on the floor.

"I'm sorry that I don't have something more comfy."

"it's okay." that night as I was drifting off to sleep my thoughts lead to twilight and how she banished me. that night I cried myself to sleep.

The next day I woke up, too the sound of chops. I quickly ran down the stairs to make sure everything was ok. what I saw when I got there was blueshine swinging a sword. It was amazing, how fast the stallion moved for his age. He was a blur, his sword moved in all directions and the dummy was demolished in seconds. "How did you do that?"

"I was a knight back in the day."

"could you train me?"

"Not if you don't have a good reason."

so I told him my reason. "to reunite the factions and safe equestrian." once I was finished, he smiled and nodded.

"You will start the next day"

That day went by fast and I was excited.
