pg.1
Detrot, Equestria 6:31 AM
With a not-so-heavy heart, I closed my journal and glanced up at the clock on the wall. Six-thirty-something in the morning. . . and I started at four. . . ish, so that means I may have gotten faster at reading?
I can't remember. Bleagh, whatever. It won't hurt to check my journal again, right?
I reopened it to the twenty eighth page, past the weird mottos and codes that Da made me write, picture's of Ma and a few of my friend's Cutie Mark parties, and pressed flowers that are starting to smell like rotten peas and lettuce. I made page 28 as a record keeper for my current fastet reading time/speed/thing. And the top speed-thing was. . . an hour and twenty minutes?!
Wow.
Past me is pretty good.
You know, at reading, and forgetting.
Hah! I made a joke about my condition! Ha! Ha. Ha, ha. . .
Yeahhhhhh, nevermind.
I facehoofed, present me is very bad at making jokes.
I closed the journal once again with my magic, and set it down on the floor, so I won't forget about it. It landed with a great thunk! from all of its accumulated notes on my life.
Okay, now what else to do? Thinking to myself like a storybook is getting kinda old, and there's NOooo way I'm gonna do anything stupid, like accidentally angering my caretakers, Sun Beam And Floofy Fluff, to the point of driving me to Taurtus.
I looked around in my room.
Maybe a crossword puzzle? I levitated a puzzle book out under my bed and flipped it open. . . wait. . . no.
That's odd, somepony already finished all of them.
Well, this sucks-
BANG!
Something exploded outside. And hopefully, it was a wayward firework from. . . uh. . .
I quickly stashed my puzzle book under the bed and levitated my journal over, opened it, and started flipping pages, searching for names of my neighbors. Maybe they did it? I'm not so sure-
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!"
A blood curdling screech of a frightened mare sounded off from the outside of the building and made my fur curl. Startled, causing my levitation field to drop the journal on my hoof.
I bit back a loud screech of my own, and hobbled over to the bedroom window, and stuck my head out it.
I looked down at the streets, searching for whatever caused the ruckus, like a hysterical mare or. . . WAIT!!!! What if it was a bomb!?!?!?!?! I leaned out the window as far as I could go and started looking even harder.
Oddly, there were no signs of hysterical mares calling for help, or any bits of wayward firework/BOMBS on the streets. At least there wasn't any signs of attack like from the pictures of the aftermath of the Changeling Invasion on Canterlot or Ponyville's Parpasprite destruction.
"HEELLLLLOOOOOOOO?!?!?" I called out, letting my voice echo through the empty streets of Detrot a little. "HEEEEEEEELLLLOOOOOO???????"
What the hay? I thought as something red dashed out of my vision.
As the last of the echoes faded out, I could almost hear a faint voice calling out for help.
"H-help."
The idea of actually saving the frightened-and-possibly-injured pony
"HELP IS COMING!!!" I hollered, "DON'T MOVE!!!"
I backed into my room and down the stairs. I burst into the apartment foyer and dashed out the door. Once, I'm out, I started calling for the pony in trouble.
"HEELLLOOOOOO???? HELLLLOOOOO??? HEY!!! CAN ANYPONY HEAR ME????????"
I trotted down the street and hollered into every alley I saw. (Sorry Mr. Hobo.)
Nopony answered or came out of their apartments. It was WAY too quiet! Even quieter than a library!
Until. . .
"O-over h-here!" shouted the once-weak voice from before.
I started to canter towards the mare's voice. "I'M COMING!!! SORRY FOR THE DELAY!!!"
"H-hurry. Over h-here please." Then she started to cough. "Please. COUGH! Hurry."
"I'm coming!" I shouted, my voice started to get a little hoarse. I rounded a corner. Maybe she was over here? I slowed down to a trot.
"Hello? Wait, what the-" The alleyway that the mare was supposed to be in was empty, except for a record player.
"Help!" The record player squeaked, "Help!"
I glared at it.
"Help! Oh p-please h-help m-me!" It wailed again.
I glared at it even harder.
"Help meeeee- Hey!~"
I stepped back in astonishment. The distressed-sounded voice stopped, and was quickly replaced by a odd, accented, stallion's voice.
"Hey!!!~ Thank you for finding this for me!~ Can you do me a favor?"
I shook my head, making my mane flap around.
"Tch. Fine. Anyway, the name is Discord and it's certainly nice to be of your acquaintance! Now turn around!~"
I shook my head again.
"Fine, turn around and don't panic!~"
I snorted. Just because you changed it doesn't mean that you get to have any power over me! I thought. The odd voice continued on.
"Well, anyways, there's a certainly NOT EVIL BLUE and WHITE centaur most totally NOT prepared to suck all the magic from you!"
WHATTTTTTTTTTTT!?!?!?!
"Actually, never mind! Please turn around!!!" The voice urged.
I blinked, why am I taking orders from a record player anyway? I paused, and blinked again.
And why in the hay does the recorder wants me to turn around.
BAH!!! Why am I doing this?!?! I'm eighteen for crying out loud!!!
"HEY!!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!?!?! KEEP ON TURN-"
I charged my horn and shot a minor lighting spell at the recorder, silencing it and making it fly apart and into pieces.
HAH! Good riddance!
I turned around and came face-to-face with an angry-looking creature. It had black bull horns and a white beard-mustache-thing.
"Um. . . hi?"
The creature? No. Centaur didn't reply, but instead took an enormously deep breath, kinda like a vaccum cleaner. This centaur guy wasn't very intimidating as the weird voice on the recorder made me think it was.
My knees started to buckle. Why do I feel so woozy all of the sudden? Grey fog started to stream from my horn and into his mouth.
H-he is sucking out all of my magic? I frantically thought before I fainted.
A hoof prodded into my side.
"I don't get it, she should be up by now." stated a flat, stallion's voice.
I twitched.
"Meh, maybe her magic was stolen a little after us? I don't know." questioned another.
I twitched again.
The voices paused.
A sharp intake of breath was heard.
"Hey! Beam!!! She just twitched!!! She's alive!!!"
"Okay, okay Floof, Shut it. We still need to move her to her apartment."
"Yessir!"
I felt a pair of hooves wrap around my forelegs as I cracked open my eyes. A startled face of a overly fluffy pony greeted me.
Then it face started to smile verrrrry wide.
"MOMMY!!!" I screamed.
