After a heated space battle around the Pony homeworld of Equus, Twilight follows Sunset Shimmer, whom suddenly returned and out for revenge for reasons no one has so far been able to fully grasp, into the distant future, where she finds herself in an utterly alien yet familiar world once again. One where humans and ponies have been living among each other for centuries.

However, she doesn't have much time to figure out why society developed the way it did or how to integrate, as the rogue Sunset is mustering the scum of the galaxy to drive a wedge between the two races.

One thing is for certain: Either Twilight manages to restore harmony to the galaxy and reform her old friend, or she will surely witness the irrecoverable decay of society. And what better way to approach this task than to repeat what she has at one point been crowned princess for: Making some friends.
