A cream pink alicorn hummed a soft tune as she read. The large book was levitating in from of her face, blocking it from view. Her dawn coloured hair pulled back into a ponytail that sat at the back of her head, two strips fell down her neck stopping at the end of her neck. She wore a crown that sat against her forehead mostly covered by her bangs that swept right covering the eye as well. She boar golden shoes that stopped half way up her front legs, her back hoofs having simple gold shoes with ribbon up her legs. On her left ear was a earring that looped round to the other part of her ear with a star hanging from it loosely. Her tail was long and had two ribbons wrapped round it holding it together.
The alicorn let out a deep breath through her nose before she moved the book away from her face revealing one deep red right eye were as they other was more of a grey with a scar running down her eye. She blinked twice before shifting then stood, her hips popped as she stretched.
Using her magic she placed the book she had been reading back to its place. She then turned and began to walk towards the library's large doors. As she walked her hoofs clattered against the grey stone.
The alicorn walked down the hallway, her eyes glancing left and right. She would nod with a smile as she past her knights, who would nodded back to her with their own small smiles.
The ruler turned down a large corridor covered in stain glass windows. Each one held different images, one that stood out was one of the alicorn with five others stood behind her. A sad smile appeared on her lips as her eyes moved to the next. It was an image of her flying with a young filly on her back.
The princess sat down, “Oh Melody.” she sighed, “I wonder what you would say about everything I have done to help create the world we dreamed of, a world of peace and harmony.”
She bit her lip stop the suddenly urged the cry, she tightly closed her eyes before she stood once more. She took a deep breath and continued on her way but not before having one more glance at the window.

A red pegasus mare laughed as she shook her head, her brown hair swaying at the suddenly movement. She aqua blue eyes held amusement as she watched the cream coloured dwarf pony use his magic to swing his pickaxe around. His eyes brown eyes darting around him.
“Arrg!” He cried as he puffed out his chest making the pegasus laugh harder to the point she was on the floor in pain.
“Bes, if you don't stop you're going make Xephos kill herself of laughter.” another cream coloured stallion stepped up them and pointed to the silently laughing Xephos on the ground. He rolled his blue eyes, his short blonde hair shifted as he placed his goggled on his forehead.
Bes gave a hearty laugh. Xephos, now recovered, climbed to her feet pant. She shot him a grin before turning towards the blonde haired stallion, “Duncan, it's good to see you. I would have thought you'd rather spent time working on your science-y stuff.”
The blonde haired one, now dubbed as Duncan, rolled his eyes in annoyance. “It's my job, Xephos. At least I have one.” he muttered shooting her a glare in which the mare glared back at.
“I don't have a job because I’m parents think I’m still unable to take care of myself.” she then glared at the ground as she kicked up dirt. Duncan's eyes softened, “They'll see one of these days. I'm sure o-.”
“No, you don't get it.” Xephos cut off the taller stallion. She turned her head to look at him blankly, “I over heard them talking about marrying me off to some rich stallion that they think would be able to take care of me!” she seethed and collapsed onto the ground, “They think I'm useless.”
“That's not true.” Bes spoke up and sat down in front of her, “One of these days they'll see, whether it's because they finally realised it or you show them.”
Xephos raised her head and smiled, “I needed that Bes.”
“No problem.” He said puffing his chest out once more.
Xephos and Duncan laughed nervously, “I think I just boosted his ego....” she trailed off. Xephos stood once more and nodded to the two, “I think it's best if I head of home.”
“Bye.” Both stallions said together making them glare at each other.
“Stop copying me.” Duncan growled.
“No you stop copying me, Jones.” Bes glared at Duncan.
Xephos simply chuckled with a shake of her head before turning and walking away, she glanced over her shoulder once more to see the two still arguing, she turned back and took off with a run.
