Twilight Sparkle, the now soul leader of Equestria, was standing on the balcony of the Canterlot castle. She couldn't be more nervous- cited about telling Flash she was going to have a baby. It was going to be their baby, whatever their child looked like he/she would always be loved. A letter suddenly appeared out of nowhere in front of Twilight on the balcony. She picked it up and read it.
Dear Princess,
Your child will die! I will either personally kill that baby or you can make it die yourself!!!! I will get my revenge AND take over Equestria!
Twilight stared at the letter and read it over and over again. Tears fell from her eyes. She wanted to keep her kingdom safe but Twilight also wanted to live happily ever after with her family. Flash walked onto the balcony and saw her crying.
"Are you ok?" he asked anxiously.
'I'm pregnant," she whispered.
"Twi this great news!!" he exclaimed.
She used her magic to give him the letter. Now he was crying as well, their first child might die. Twilight wasn't having any of it!!!
She quickly wrote a letter to the Crystal Empire, their child just might have a chance of survival.
~ 7 months later ~
Rarity sat in one of the chairs outside Twilight's room. She could hear screaming, groaning, moaning, and everything else. She could see the now adult sized Spike through the window looking through the window to Twi's room.
"Two months too early! Two months too early!" was all Pinkie said as she held onto her knees and rocked back and forth.
Applebloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetiebelle sat in group huddle whispering anxiously. They now had their cutie marks, Sweetie's was a Microphone, Scoot's was her scooter, Applebloom's was a red apple being painted green.
Rarity heard hoofsteps and saw Applejack race into the hall closely followed by Rainbowdash and Fluttershy. They knew what was going on. Fluttershy sank into the chair beside Rarity and hugged Rarity as she cried.
The CMB , cutie mark besties as they now called themselves, walked over to AJ and Dash and spoke urgently to them. The cyan pegasus and farm pony nodded and whispered something to them. Applebloom smiled, Scootaloo flapped her wings excitedly and Sweetie walked over to Rarity.
"Why are you all so happy?" Rarity asked her sister.
"Applejack is gonna take us to a little shop to get Twilight something. She will be ok sis," Sweetiebelle replied.
Rarity flinched but nodded.
"Thanks Rarity!" Sweetie called over her shoulder as she went back to her friends. Rarity heard them leave and knew that nothing would be ok.
After hours of hearing screaming yelling and crying, it finally ended, at about 7 am. Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbowdash, Applejack, and whimpering Pinkie pie went inside Twilight's room.
There was a broad smile on the alicorn's face. Flash was teary eyed and smiling as well. Their eyes were fixed on the little bundle the purple pony held. Inside the blanket was their sleeping pale pink alicorn daughter. Her hair was a mix of dark pink and dark purple.
Then, in came the CMB. They were giggling and cheering as Sweetiebelle, using her magic, set a small box beside Twilight. The alicorn used her magic to open it up. There was a half sun dotted with pink sparkles inside. Twilight put the sun on her child's head with the string it came with.
"Isn't it pretty how the daylight glimmers on her?" Flutters asked happily.
"We'll name her that!" Flash cried out. "Daylight Glimmer," he confirmed.
"It's beautiful," Twilight Sparkle said crying. The door opened and in came the princess of the Crystal Empire.
"I heard that the baby came early, are you sure you two want to do this?" Cadence asked looking at Flash and Twilight.
"Yes, I am. It's for the good of everypony," came the saddened reply from Twilight. Flash just nodded.
"What are you talking about?" Rainbow dash asked.
"We're sending Daylight to live in the Crystal Empire due to the- letter we received," Flash said downcast.
"WHAT?!" Pinkie screamed outraged.
"It's just a letter! It has no meaning!!!" RD yelled.
"Darling, why?" Rarity said to Twilight.
"I knew something was bound to go wrong!" Fluttershy murmured.
"Now calm down ya'll!" AJ said over the commotion. They looked expectantly at Applejack. "If somepony sent a letter bad enough to make these two do this then, we should respect that and let Twi and Flash do whatever they think is best. She is their baby after all," Applejack reasoned.
" *sigh* Applejack is right, no matter how dreadful it is," Rarity told them. Everyone let what needed to be done get done. After saying their goodbyes, Cadence left with baby Daylight Glimmer in the hopes that the alicorn baby could be protected.
Daylight Glimmer looked out her bedroom window in the Crystal palace. Everything was pretty much perfect, even though she was only five years old.
"Good morning sweetie," Cadence said.
"Good morning mommy," Daylight replied looking up at her mother with bright blue eyes.
"Do you know what today is?" Princess Cadence asked. The filly shook her head no. "Your birthday!" Cadence told her hugging the filly.
"Yay!" Daylight giggled. "Can I go outside today?" the tiny alicorn asked hopefully. For, she had never been outside the castle before.
"Uh..." the princess wasn't sure what to say when Skyla, her oldest daughter walked by the room.
"Skyla!!!" Daylight cheered. Skyla scoffed and said "Leave me alone dweeb."
Feeling very hurt the filly went to the family room and hugged her daddy.
"Hey Dayli! Happy Birthday!" he told her with a tight squeeze.
"Daddy, can I go outside today?" she asked.
"I don't see why you can't see the Crystal Heart that is just outside the front door," he told her.
"Honey, is that a good idea?" Cadence asked as she entered the room.
"Aw, cm'on, she's six years old now. I'm sure it'll be fine," was the reply she got.
Little Daylight was confused by the adult talk, but nonetheless was super excited to go outside! Not long later, her parents and sister were walking outside with her. The filly's excitement grew as she neared the heart. But, as she got closer to the crystalline figurine, her excitement was replaced by awestruck wonder. When Daylight Glimmer stood right in front of it, she keeled down and praised the heart that gave love and light to the Empire. It slowly started spinning. More ponies joined in as they saw it moving, and soon an outburst of color shot into the sky. The filly gazed in awe at the beautiful rainbow.
"Whoa." was all Skyla had to say.
At the edge of the Empire a stallion was watching it all play out. He grinned evilly. The plan was in motion. Finally, revenge would be his. And it is all because the one who hated Daylight Glimmer most was foolish enough to hoof the child over to him.
Princess Cadence knew that her adopted daughter's location was exposed. The superior alicorn rushed her family back inside the castle. Once safe in side, Cadenza wrote two letters. The young alicorn must be protected, or Twilight was going to be really mad.
