Being a hit-pony is a simple job. I get a name, and I make that pony go away. It payed the bills and had flexible hours. I don't end pony's lives, only complete a job. It's the lie that I live with... and it's getting harder and harder to believe.
Neon Lights, a hit-pony for the mob, does his job well. He gets a name, a description, and he makes that pony go away. He was good at his job, arguably the best. He never questioned the job, trying to stay as disconnected from the targets as much as possible. They weren't ponies, they were just work.
All of that changes on his latest hit, when he can't pull the trigger. Something made him balk, and the resulting backlash completely destroying his entire life. Everything he's ever worked for is gone after one failed job… And what makes it worse, he has to drag along the two, clueless mares along that caused this.
I got the urge to write a story based off of an Equestria in a 1930's setting, and this is what became of it. I hope you enjoy the story, and please leave a like and comment if you enjoyed!
