“Spike darling?” a fuzzy noise rung in Spike’s ear, he opened his eyes slowly as the sun was bright and his eyes were sore. Though once when they had adjusted to the light, he quickly felt the need to close them again.
His darling was lying next to him, with only a silk see through gown. He blushed immensely.
“Mm I see you like my latest garment” Rarity giggled, she too blushed but grabbed his hand and held it close to her cheek.
“I had found some… ‘Interesting’ books in Twilight’s library and when I confronted Twilight about it” Rarity giggled again, “She said you had taken an interest in them. And well one of the outfits was like this so… I thought this might help you recover” She smiled deviously.
“So close and yet so far, right my love?” Rarity teased. She gently kissed his hand before placing it down again. “Oh and I hope you don’t mind my dear but I had to turn you over, of course it took some time but your always so warm, and little ol’ me got chilly last night” Rarity said pouting her lips.
“Shall I put you on your back? Oh but it did take me awhile to turn you over…” She looked at him for a moment. Spike was desperately trying not to avert his eyes from hers but, it was rather difficult. In a moment of weakness he peeked down, Rarity noticed and simply smiled.
“Oh Spike… the things we should be doing…” Rarity sighed before getting up, her rear so perfect and round, only to be covered by her hair. Spike watched her though like a hawk, he felt nervous about today even if it had just started.
She grabbed her clothes from a suitcase, which surprisingly was smaller than what she usually brings. Rarity put a dressing gown on and her slippers, she then turned to him, his eyes were looking directly at hers.
“Don’t worry my love, my body is only yours…” She walked over to the door and said “I shall be back soon…” She then left the room.
A nurse came up to Rarity, “Do you need anything miss?”
“Yes, my spikey wikey needs turning back over and I would like some tea and breakfast, if its not any trouble that is” Rarity said.
“Not at all and I shall have some stronger nurses to turn him back over”
“That’s wonderful, thank you” Rarity turned before the nurse grabbed her shoulder.
“Wait miss, might I ask why he was turned over?”
“I- I was cold” Rarity shamefully admitted.
“… Alright… thank you…” the nurse said before letting her go, “You know, that could be dangerous… right?”
Rarity turned her head “Dangerous?”
“Yes… we’ve had ponies coming to us saying that the patient was faking being in a coma and well…”
Rarity’s eyes opened wide, “You don’t mean?”
The nurse nodded her head.
“How… how dare you!” Rarity put her hand on her heart, “My spikey would never do such a thing, he gave up his body to save me! Why would he…?” Rarity took a deep breath in.
“My spike will never harm me, thank you for the concern but I don’t need any” she then walked away.
The nurse turned her head towards Spike’s door, “That’s what they all said…”
Rarity turned a corner and hit the wall “How dare she..!” Rarity took another deep breath in before slamming her body against the wall and slumping down.
“He would never…” her eyes were caught on the ring on her finger, it seemed to glow and memories of their past went through her mind. She then smiled.
“He wouldn’t, I know he wouldn’t.”
Rarity then got herself back up and patted the dirt and dust off her gown and walked down into a room made for her.

Spike’s door opened, “Good morning Mr Dragon”
“It’s the nurse” Spike thought to himself.
“My two helpers are here this morning and they are going to be turning you onto your back”
She nodded to the two stallions, they were strong but even they struggled moving the heavy dragon.
After they successfully put him back into the correct position, they left.
The nurse, otherwise known as Snuggle Puff examined all the monitors, taking notes. She then caught glimpse of Spike looking at her. She almost looked like Rarity as she had white skin, blue eyes and a very slim figure. Her hair was puffy and the shade of an eggplant. Spike blushed a little since the thought of Rarity in that gown plague his thoughts.
“Oh my” The nurse blushed but smiled, “Do you like a girl in uniform?” she teased.
“I like a big handsome stallion but most of them are jerks… you don’t seem that way though”
She sat on the bed and put the notes down, she leaned towards him, “You sacrificed everything for that one mare… so noble of you” She stopped when she had gotten close to his lips.
“She doesn’t even care for you…” She smiled, “She just told me that she doesn’t love anyone at the moment” Snuggle Puff put her hand on his chest, “But I like you” she leaned for a kiss but kissed him on the forehead.
“No! Get off me” Spike thought, he couldn’t move still even though he tried. “I love Rarity, she doesn’t need to love me back!”
Snuggle Puff got on top of him and stroked his spikes. Her chest getting closer to his eyes, she almost felt like dropping a little so they could touch him but she pulled away a little.
She unbuttoned the first few buttons, which allowed her bosoms to almost over flow through her uniform.
“See, I am as wonderful as her am I not?” she leaned for a kiss again but on the lips.
However a knock on the door made Snuggle Puff jump off him and button her uniform back up, she grabbed her notes and continued to study them.
“Come in” She said.
“It’s me” Twilight smiled.
“Ah princess, how wonderful it is to see you” Snuggle Puff bowed with respect. “I hope you’ll excuse me, as I have the notes I need for now” Snuggle Puff walked towards the door, “I shall be back soon with some medicine” She then bowed again before leaving.
Twilight watched her leave, before turning back towards Spike.
“How are you doing my number one assistant?” Twilight smiled before sitting on the chair below the window.
She used her magic to open it, “Ah fresh air”
From Spike’s point of view, Twilight was directly behind the sun and with her hair moving with the breeze, she really did look like a princess, like Celestia. Twilight grabbed his hand and gently stroked it, “The library has been quiet since the recent… event” Twilight cleared her throat.
“Anyway I’m sure you want an update on Fluttershy and Discord? It has been a while since you’ve seen them” Twilight kept her eyes locked on Spike’s, the two had formed a way to communicate. If spike rolls his eyes then he’s heard it, if he looks at her and squints his eyes then he’s confused, if he blinks five times in a row then it’s ‘how are you?’ and so forth.
Spike didn’t do any of the signs so Twilight continued, “Well Fluttershy is, not exactly okay but she is better”
There was a knock at the door, “Oh um, come in”
A male nurse came in with tea and toast, “Nurse Snuggle Puff said this was for this room?”
Twilight looked at Spike and he blinked, “Yes it is”
The nurse nodded and put it down on the table, as he was about to leave, Rarity came in. He allowed her to come in and then left.
“Ah Twilight! How wonderful it is you’re here!” Rarity said as she walked over to her friend, Twilight got up and the two hugged.
“I was updating Spike on the current” Twilight cleared her throat again, “Fluttershy problem”
Rarity pulled back, “I see” Rarity then sat on the edge of the bed, Twilight sat back into the chair.
“As I was saying, Fluttershy and Discord are actually thinking of getting married”
Rarity almost spat out her tea but calmed herself, “Are you sure?” Rarity asked.
“But… I don’t think Fluttershy is confident about the idea... I mean she isn’t confident already but Discord wants a big, show stopping, in your face kind of wedding.” Twilight grabbed a flask from her bag and poured herself a cup of tea.
“I think she just wants a simple wedding at Sweet Apple Acres” Twilight added.
“Surely Discord won’t mind considering what she wants?” Rarity asked.
“I don’t know…” Twilight sighed, “He’s really getting into it now and Fluttershy just won’t say anything”
“Has she asked you to say anything?” Rarity said before taking a slice of toast, “Oh you want one?”
“Nah I’m alright” Twilight said, “I actually brought a daisy sandwich with me”
“Ah I see”
“Anyway, she has but I don’t think it’s right for me to say anything, I understand that its hard for her but, he wouldn’t listen and besides with a little push from a certain bunny, I’m sure she’ll get her wedding” Twilight winked.
“Enough about that, what about you?” Twilight asked.
“I’m fine, the business is going well and I think that if my next line pleases Fancy Pants then I can expand up here” Rarity said excitedly.
“That’s wonderful Rarity” Twilight smiled.
The room fell silent for a moment as the door opened and nurse Snuggle Puff came in with a lot of medicines, this bothered Rarity at first seeing as though it deemed unfair that such treatment should go on one dragon when it could help others, but then again she didn’t want to lose her Spike.
The two carried on talking about her business until Snuggle Puff left.
Spike, if he could, would have left ages ago.
“Bla, bla… bllllaaaa” he thought to himself, “It’s nice to see Twilight but, uggghhh girls talk too much”
At one point the two girls got up and looked out the window, Rarity was pointing out which building would be hers and Spike’s when the time came. Then they talked about books and which might be good for Spike to listen to. After all there wasn’t much he could do at the moment.
It soon got to sundown and Twilight had to catch the next train home.
“Won’t you come home for the one night?” Twilight asked?
Rarity sighed and looked at Spike, “Is that… really alright of me?” She asked herself, “It is the one night…”
Spike dreaded the thought of her leaving, that nurse was dangerous to their relationship but then… he did want her to be happy… he blinked, indicating it was alright to go.
“Thank you and I’m sorry…” Rarity ran over to him and hugged him tight, a small tear falling down her cheek, however she picked herself up and wiped the tear away, “I promise, it’s just the one night. I will be back tomorrow”
Spike then watched as she packed her suitcase and headed to the door, Twilight watched on with a tissue in her hand, clearly she felt bad also. Rarity and Twilight waved and left.
However Rarity did leave a photo of her and the other girls on the wall so Spike could have some company. It didn’t comfort him too much though. As Rarity and Twilight left the building, nurse Snuggle Puff watched on, she saw the suitcase and assumed something of another nature.
“Hope he isn’t lonely” Rarity said to Twilight.
“Don’t worry he’ll be okay, he’s got plenty of nurses to help out”
“I know but…”
“I just feel like he’ll be in trouble if I’m gone…”
Spike looked at the photo, “Goodnight my love…” he thought to himself and soon fell asleep.
Snuggle Puff watched him through a small window in the door, before leaving with a devious smile on her face.
“Mine at last…”

‘Beep, beep, beep…’ the alarm clock sounded, followed by a disgruntled groan. Rarity with all her strength reached out and pressed the top of the clock, which caused it to become silent.
“Morning already?” Rarity mumbled into her pillow. She had been working on some of her clients outfits and was exhausted, if she hadn’t known better she’d have guessed that she got into bed ten minutes ago.
She moved the covers off herself and pulled herself up but soon collapsed again onto her pillow, its soft embrace wanted to convince her to lie back down and go back to sleep. But stubbornly she sat upright and rubbed her eyes.
She stretched for a moment before almost collapsing again, but her appearance in the mirror caught her eye. For once in her life, she didn’t care that she looked a mess. It almost reminded her of the ‘adventurous’ times that her and Spike had together. Trying new and exciting things, her position made her almost hallucinate Spike grabbing her, and making her beyond pleased.
But she soon snapped back into reality when Sweetie Belle knocked on her door.
“Rarity can I come in?” her high pitch voice ringed in Rarity’s ears, it was too early for this.
Rarity shook her head and used her magic to grab her dressing gown, “Yes darling” as she started organising her hair, Sweetie Belle came in.
“Geez Rarity you look….” Sweetie Belle stopped herself, not wanting to make her sister go into a crazed, depressed, overly dramatic mood.
“Hm?” Rarity turned her sight to Sweetie Belle, making her feel even more uncomfortable.
“Are you alright?” Sweetie Belle asked with concern, after all her sister did look tired.
“Yes, just been up late with… erm…” Rarity thought for a moment, “Oh yes! That’s right I had to make some outfits for my clients”
“Will you be a dear and gently grab them for me?” Rarity asked. Sweetie Belle nodded and raced downstairs.
Rarity got up and went into her bathroom, she set up the shower before Sweetie Belle called her.
“Coming” Rarity walked back into her room, for once Sweetie Belle seemed to do the right thing and left them on the bed.
“Ah thank you” Rarity said, she gave her sister a hug before yawning.
“Now if you’ll excuse me. I need to take a shower” Rarity walked off, not really caring if her sister had anything to say.
“Oh gosh, I’m gonna be late! See you later” Sweetie Belle ran off. Rarity almost yelled back but she heard the door slam and didn’t bother.
Rarity stood in the shower, her thoughts drifting off between plans of getting her clothing to her clients and Spike. How she missed him already. Not just being by his side, but him physically being there for her. She missed the intimate nights they’d have, just the two of them enjoying each other’s company, not just in bed but watching a movie or getting clothing finished. He was such a good influence on her business also, the clients loved to see a dragon wearing her clothing in their show. She loved to see him in the shows, doing his best to please her… he always did such nice things for her…
Rarity soon felt the tears flow down her cheeks, her anger building up. Why she wanted to hit the wall with her rage but that wouldn’t do any good. She often felt so helpless and unable to do anything but stand there. Teasing him was fun for a bit but she wanted a little teasing also…
“I’m so selfish…” She cried to herself.
“Why? Why did you do that Spike? You sacrificed your body just to protect me and all I do is remind you of what you can’t do anymore”
Rarity bit her lip and finished up in the shower. She got dressed and put the clothing into special bags so they wouldn’t sustain any damage. Thankfully her clients are in Canterlot so all she needs to do is catch the next train and head over. Of course though catching up on her friends was necessary also.
“I’ll spend the afternoon with them and then head back to Canterlot” Rarity thought to herself.
Rarity gazed over at Canterlot and questioned as to what Spike was doing? If anything.

Spike was moved to an upright position and had a table placed in front of him, nurse Snuggle Puff was feeding him food. He wasn’t pleased.
“Oh Spike, your beautiful purple scales shines so wonderfully in the sun…” Snuggle Puff thought to herself.
Whilst she was feeding him, his gaze kept turning towards the window. Ponyville could only just be seen outside that window.
“Are you thinking of Rarity?” Snuggle Puff asked.
His eyes turned to hers, they looked sad. “I’ll take that as a yes” Snuggle Puff said.
“It’s alright though, I know that you think I look like her. Maybe if I call you darling more, you’ll feel more comfortable. After all, I am younger than her we can live longer together” Snuggle Puff leaned in for a kiss but kissed him on the forehead.
She giggled to herself before putting the empty bowl down. The TV had already been set up so Snuggle Puff put it on for him. It was a fashion show that was due to go live in the next 24 hours, so the programme itself was a tour and information as to whom would be entering.
“Now you be good and watch this okay?” Snuggle Puff smiled and left the room.
Spike moved his eyes to the screen and saw some of the outfits that appeared, they all were so unique and wonderfully made but none seemed to have any kind of feeling to them. Not to take Rarity’s side but her outfits were made with love and passion, they all meant something to her. Another reason that he loved her so much. All the more reason to try and achieve the impossible.
“Wait for me Rarity I will move again soon…” Spike closed his eyes, “I promise…”
Snuggle Puff watched him through the window, her hand clenching her clothing. How heroic he looked in the sun. She knew that he was thinking of Rarity again, he always closed his eyes and his chest seemed to tighten up. Sometimes he would cry and that made him so admirable, a male creature able to share his tears with others showed signs that he was truly one in a million. So rare and amazing.
Spike opened his eyes again and looked at his hand, he desperately tried to pull it up or even clench his fist together. He focused with everything in his body for what seemed like such a long time but all he could muster was a twitch.
“Not good enough” he thought to himself. He focused again on his hand and aimed for the remote, it moved slightly but nothing fantastic.
“Rarity” he thought again, this time he used his strength and pushed his boundaries to the point that it ached his heart and head but somehow he managed to put his hand over the remote.
Snuggle Puff opened the door, with a shocked expression plastered on her face. “He can’t recover yet” She raced over to him and moved his hand away from the remote.
“You shouldn’t push yourself like this, let your body heal normally” She said almost angrily.
Spike once again put all his strength into his hands but only the one hand moved slightly.
“Stop this” Snuggle Puff put her own hand over his, tears flowed down her cheeks.
“You can’t recover, that means that you’ll go back to her”
Spike ignored her and put his focus onto his other hand, “I have to see her, she’ll be proud of me and we can be happy again” Spike thought to himself but suddenly he felt drowsy, she had put chloroform over him to knock him out.
“It’s best this way…” Snuggle Puffs voice got more blurry and within moments he fell asleep.
“I can’t believe that he managed to move his hand, it might be minor but now he is going to be more confident and if that’s the case then…” She looked at his other hand, it was placed over his stomach, “Unbelievable! How and when did he move that!?”
Snuggle Puff put his hand back to its original position and turned the television off.
“I’ll have to keep an eye on you…” Snuggle Puff walked to the door, a menacing grin plagued her face, “Darling…”

Rarity sat on the train, it was now late at night and she was exhausted. Thankfully she was close to Canterlot now and had managed to say farewell in a manner she preferred.
“I won’t be long now, darling” Rarity smiled to herself.
“Are you alright?” Twilight asked, “Why are you smiling?”
“I can’t wait to see him that’s all” Rarity replied, “I’m glad you came with me though, and I’m so grateful that you and Celestia have arranged a better sleeping area for me and Spike”
“Ah that’s alright” Twilight winked, “At least you and Spike can have more privacy”
“Twilight Sparkle” Rarity laughed followed by Twilight.
“But are you sure it isn’t a hassle, I mean this is the castle that Celestia and Luna occupy. I just don’t want to be even more of a burden” Rarity said whilst twiddling with her thumbs.
“Yes Rarity it’s perfectly okay, Luna had raised concern over Spike’s well-being in that hospital” Twilight said.
“Luna did?” Rarity asked.
“Yeah I know it’s a little strange but I trust her, she wouldn’t do something like this unless it was necessary”
“Regardless I can’t wait!” Rarity said excitedly which resorted in a snort. Twilight ignored that but also smiled, she was to live in the castle for a while as she felt that she should find out more knowledge on what is causing Spike to be paralyzed and find a cure for it.
“Next stop Canterlot”
The two grabbed their bags with their magic which was a lot and upon arriving they were greeted by Luna whom had two stallions at her side, guarding her. When they got off the train they headed towards Luna and exchanged hugs.
“It’s wonderful to see you Princess Luna” Rarity bowed.
“No need for such formality, I have expectations that my citizens will show this kind of respect but my friends should not have to” Luna smiled.
Twilight looked at Rarity and they both smiled, “Of course Luna” Twilight said.
The three hopped onto a carriage and awaited the staff to put their luggage on board, this gave them time to catch up and have a laugh. However when it was time for them to go the conversation grew serious.
“Twilight, Rarity I believe that your aware of the re-location of Spike?” Luna asked. They both nodded in agreement.
“Well we need permission from the head nurse of his ward and of course his doctor. It would be troublesome to have hospital staff in our castle, pardon that it sounds rude but they make me feel uncomfortable” Luna rubbed her shoulder.
“That’s why if we have Rarity here trained with some basic medical training then you shall be able to look after him and if that is a success then you can even take him back to Ponyville”
“Really!?” Rarity said excitedly.
“Of course” Luna smiled.
Rarity in her excitement hugged the princess in a tight hug and was whispering, “Thank you” over and over. However when she calmed down she quickly pulled away and blushed.
“Sorry about that” Rarity said sheepishly.
Luna, a little shocked shrugged it off and laughed.
“Might I ask Luna as to why we are moving into the castle? Not that I’m against it or anything!”
“Hm. Good question. Well Spike contacted me in his dream and requested that he wanted out of the hospital and…”
Rarity zoomed off for a moment, her thoughts drifting into Spike in the dream world surely he must be like his old self… perhaps she was there? Was he happy? How envious she was that Luna can easily go into his dream world and see him as he was. She wanted that and she could only hope that one day that will happen.
