The doorway to your wildest dreams
“What!?!” I shouted, confused.
“This is Fluttershy.” he stated nonchalantly.
“Wha-how-where” I started stammering.
“Don’t make a huge deal bro.” he said, “keep quiet and we’ll talk but we must go somewhere else you already made a huge deal about it we must leave”
We walked on the street towards his apartment as we walk I begin to feel a sudden anger and sorrow in the pit of my stomach. I’ve always said Fluttershy is best pony. I am furious that I didn’t get to date Fluttershy instead. But then I realized I’m in high school and very seldom do high school relationships work out. If I dated Fluttershy now we would break up eventually. If they break up I shouldn’t even date her. If I were to we’d still break up eventually plus if they break up…… Oh were here.
“So why didn’t you just give me your address and have me go there?” I asked.
“Well I always go to the Starbucks at the same time every day and that time was most convenient for me.” Hayden said.
“Makes sense” I said.
We walked into the apartment complex and I asked where his house was.
“If you’re asking about the one my parents live in, I don’t live there.” He said.
“Oh!” I exclaimed, “Why don’t you live with your parents.”
“They kicked me out first chance they got once I turned 14 they emancipated me.” He replied, “Luckily my mom loved me enough to pay for me to live in an apartment until I got a job”
“Why did they kick you out?” I asked
“They were tired of paying for me” he stated “my mom only paid for the apartment temporarily so I wasn’t homeless.”
When we got inside the lights were off and the blinds were closed I couldn’t see anything.
“Don’t say anything.” Hayden demanded as he flipped on the lights
What I saw left me speechless. It was a large machine. At the base there is what looks like a large laser pointer except it is flat. The same thing is on the sides but they are longer and one is on top like it would create a wall. In the center of the laser grid there is a grate walkway. The walkway stairs off to a computer system. These computers are connected to the machine.
“This is a weird contraption.” I said.
“I told you not to say anything” he scolded.
“sorry.” I giggled.
“This is why I wanted you to be here.” He explained as he walked down the steps and to the computer, “this machine is a quantum leaping device. We really live in the 4th dimension. If we didn't we wouldn't be able to perceive motion. We perceive the 3rd dimension through the 4th. When you fold the 4th dimension through the 5th dimension you can travel through time. If you travel back in time far enough you can change something traveling across multiple timelines. Multiple universes, each universe its own set of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th dimensions. If we were to say create a machine that would do most of what we need we could travel instantly. That’s what this is. Because I was able to do all of that I was able to create a portal back through equestria making the machine”
“Bend the sixth dimension through the fifth? That way we could transport to equestria.” I interrupted. “this is genius but where did you get the power? A machine like this would take an entire power plant generating only to you.”
“I created a generator that uses gravity to power it. Optimizing the output I was able to generate enough energy to power my machine in a matter of a couple weeks.” He answered.
“I want to try!” I exclaimed.
