I have finally done it. This, I believe, is the story that sets me apart from all of the other authors out there. My best one yet and it has a surprise twist. I can't wait for my publisher to read it. All I have to do now is get across town without losing this thing like last time I thought I had a breakthrough. I should have known my attempt at a romance would blow away in the wind; I mean that figuratively and literally.
"Hey there Inky Winky! Whatchya got there?!"
Oh no, it,s the pink one. "How many times do I have to tell you Pinkie Pie, My name is Inkpot and I don't think a nickname of that sort would be appropriate for our level of friendship." Woah what the hell. That was some serious deja vu.
"Come on Inky it's just a silly ol' nickname don't get your cupcakes in a bundle! Now come on what's that in your hooves?"
"Fine, if you must know it's my latest story I finished last night. I'm on my way to my publisher here in town so he can read it over and make me famous. It's got a twist ending. I'll be damned if I let that snot nosed calypso embarrass me again. I know she has a new story coming soon too and mine will blow hers out of the water." Damn, I'm getting a headache from this conversation. The deja vu I am getting is crazy.
"Oh Oh Oh can I read it pretty please?! I love love love twist endings!"
"Not now Pinkie Pie." I have got to get out of here my head is killing me and whatever she says seems to make it worse. I just can't put my finger on why this is happening.
"Come on I Pinkie promise I won't spoil it for anyone else, I am not that kind of mare. Pleeeeeease?!"
"NO, I'm sorry I need to leave now." Oh god the pain is starting to get serious, I can't even walk straight. I can feel the sweat drip down my face as the confusion writhes in my head. It's like this has happened in a dream or something. I just need to get to my editors office. I feel like I should sit down but she keeps pestering me and I- "OWW!"
"Oh my gosh Inky! Are you okay that was quite the nasty fall you had there. Hey since your story is just laying here I hope you don't mind if i give myself a sneak peak! I just love reading twist endings, it's just when you don't expect it, it makes the whole story ten times better!"
That's when it hit me.
"A Simple Story, what a lame name for a story Inky, geez. AHEM*"
